Oh sorry I meant that it made my total fiber count for the day 52g because it has a good bit of fiber in it, not that the sweet potato actually has 52g of fiber (my bad).

Since Jan. 1st Me: 20 B: 3 DBF: 20 These last couple of days have been rough. Today I binged on chocolate and breadsticks and cookies from Trader Joe's and the day before it was chips and pb2 and the day before that ice cream. I have to get it together. I was doing so good before the last couple of days. I just have been…

I just submitted my request. I hope it went through because I really would like to join. I am currently at 240lbs at 5'3.5" and have been trying to get back into the 100s seems like forever. I have been big all my life and when I lost a good bit of weight I didn't keep it off long because it was so hard doing it by myself…

Yeah I weigh everything I eat to a tee so its definitely not the food.

Yeah I know and I love mfp's report section, but I like doing it on excel too. It makes me feel like I can see the results better even though it's the same thing kinda...lol im just weird i guess.

In the beginning of the month, I deliberately set my cals that low so that I could lose the initial 5% body weight because my health hasn't been the best as of late with extremely bad headaches, acid reflux, and high blood pressure, but I am now going to start calorie cycling where I eat lower (1200-1300) mon-thurs but up…

Yeah I know but when I got my blood work back I was kinda freaked out so I just decided to try my hardest to lose at least 10lbs in the first couple of weeks because the sooner the weight comes off the lower my points will be. But now that I am 15lbs down I am going to start calorie cycling where I eat 1100-1200 during the…

Yeah the problem with being plant-based and eating out is that you don't know how your food is being prepared. They can say "vegan" but they could be frying it on the same grill as non-vegan items. But I am trying to get used to not eating out so much because I have high blood pressure and a high ldl right now. Eventually…

Thanks for the advice and while I agree you definitely have to do a diet that you can stick to for life or else it won't stick, I do believe in this lifestyle for me. I mean everything I love I can still eat if I want it...cake (vegan of course)...ice cream...cookies, burgers...fries etc. So I am not missing out on…

Because I have done this so many times and I just want to know if I am on the right track. I want this time to be my final starting point for weight loss.
-
Sorry I didn't put it down yet, but it is mostly plant-based diet. I only ate out on my b-day and it was a Red Robin vegan burger and I put vegan cheese and mayo on it and made some homemade fries. I also had two lenny's and larry's cookies which is why the cal content was so high on 1/8/2018. For the most part its…

No I just wish my whole family knew about proper nutrition so that I wouldn't have gone from being an obese kid to an obese adult. Living in the south didn't help as most families in the south believe that food especially fried, greasy foods, should be given at not only special events but at most dinners. Food particularly…

Oh wow thats so weird its been exactly 17 days for me since I started going plant-based and lost 13lbs as well. Most of it being water weight but I did start working out last week and I stalled this week, but my muscles have been sore so its probably from working out because my cals have been pretty low at around…

Although I am transitioning into being vegan, I don't suggest others do it unless they want to for either ethical reasons or health reasons where eating meat/dairy/eggs physically harms them (which it did for me). You have to really be dedicated if you want to live this lifestyle because there are a lot of people against…

I don't really take too much to what they say about metabolism as sound because I did a lot of damage to my body in college and still can lose fast if I really put my mind into it. So like others have said it can be both harder and easier mentally because you know what to do, but when you get close to goal and drop the…

Thanks. I will keep that in mind from now on and try to come up with an alternative because I am trying to let go of cooking oil in general.

I binge unfortunately. The only time I starve is when I am truly sick and don't have an appetite because I'm really ill which is rare.

My best friend and roommate is naturally thin and gained 30lbs on the depo shot and she eats exactly the same way she did when she was thin and has the same activity level. She may lose 5 to 8 every now and then when she's really not eating much, but for the most part her weight stays around 160ish now. She went from…

While I agree with comments above. You definitely don't have to work out to lose weight (it's probably 80-90% diet), but if you want to move at a faster pace and see results show up a little quicker physically, just even 30 minutes of walking each day will help achieve that. You don't have to work out like a pro-athlete…

That brand has been a lifesaver since I started going plant-based. Eventually I am going to be more whole foods plant based but while I am still trying to get used to eating no meat or dairy and less processed foods and fast food...it is a nice starter up going towards an all whole foods diet. My favorites are her tofu…

I have tried most things in the last eight years and what I realize is the only way weight loss will ever truly work and actually stick is if you choose a plan you can live with for the rest of your life...kinda like how you choose your mate. You wouldn't just choose any ol' body to marry and spend the rest of your life…

When people just sit there on the arm/chest press machine bench and be on their phone instead of actually working out for like 30-40 minutes (I literally counted). Like dude the point of the gym is to workout. Someone else could be using that machine. Then he didn't do but one or two chest presses and then walked out. I…

I lost almost 35lbs in 3 months from May 2017 to August with a lot of cardio...I could have lost 40lbs in that time frame but I was eating out a lot then. I'm not going to be eating out as much this year so I am hoping I can lose that much or more again these next 3 months. Will be back on April 1st with an update.
