  • well done! congrats!!!!!!
  • I would say every other day (especially if you are in pain) or definitely not targeting the same muscle group two days in a row. As others have suggested, I'd alternate weight/cardio with something very low impact such as walking and stretching to help you loosen up the sore muscles and get rid of lactic acid. For the same…
  • Yes, but I do weight at home before bringing them all to work so that I now know which proportion to log each brand as (I just keep them saved in my foods as weighted)

  • A string cheese stick is usually around 80 calories across the board (whether it's part skim mozzarella, medium cheddar, colby/jack etc). Fresh mozzarella sticks are usually about 70. A "standard" cheese stick is 1oz, I am not sure what cheese sticks you found at 10 calories each? Just pointing this out because it would…
  • every single packaged "bread" item!!!! they are ALL so off!! sliced bread, sliders, bagels, you name it... they are all incredibly off... I weight them all now and the difference is often over extra 40%!!!!
  • a large salad of spring mix, 3 oz of baby carrots, cucumber, 10 grapes tomatoes 1 tbs of light ranch dressing 1 boiled egg 1 cheese stick 1 deli thin with 2 oz lunch meat (usually low sodium turkey or uncured ham, or grilled chicken breast) 1 kind bar 6 oz watermelon or melon or pineapple I'd typically have a couple of…
  • besides having a plant rich diet, I enjoy the organic psyllium powder from whole foods. It's very inexpensive and tastes delicious (I get the berry flavor).
  • The "exercise" calories aren't as accurate so good practice is to eat no more than 60/70% of your extra exercise calories and take it from there. it will also depends on how high is your deficit to begin with, your stats etc.
  • But the pasta in the US is not made in Italy, even Barilla. Each pasta company (just like any other global brand) has several production plants that makes products (and labels) tailored to their regional markets. I come from Italy and I bring all my pasta from there as pasta here is fortified with a million ingredients…
  • this thread is golden LOL
  • "you are lucky" is the most infuriating thing out there. I'm not lucky, I'm disciplined and work f hard for my body
  • I eat 1200 plus all (and then some) of my exercise calories which usually brings me up to around 1800+ . I walk about 15,000 steps a day plus about 20/30' biking every day + 1hr weight training at least twice a week. I'm slowly losing
  • I generally agree with everything said, however MFP will adjust your calories on top of your activity level only after you go over the "threshold" the system has identified for it (assuming it is measurable linear steps exercise such as walking, running, biking - but not spinning- etc). If I adjust my calories to sedentary…
  • I also have a 30% carbs 35% protein 35% fat and i almost never hit my protein goal. I don't do shakes, I watch my sodium and processed food in general and it get's challenging some days LOL
  • I eat extremely clean, count my calories diligently and I exercise regularly (former professional athlete). None of these helps with my anxiety per se, but I know that when I make the time to work out I feel good about myself and my appearance, and that helps my general sense of wellness. AND when I make myself go to the…
  • I wholeheartedly loathe black chocolate. I tried and tried to cheat myself with it but I just can't. I find it gross. I can't be trusted with white or milk chocolate though, so I'll try the OP suggestion. Side note - all kefyr are not created equal LOL you can definitely find lower sugar ones, we love the siggi's plain…
  • I'm new and uncool. Is anyone here in NYC?
  • I have uncontrolled raging cravings after dinner too and that's 100% how I gained all my unnecessary weight. After a LONG trial and error process I have realized that the best approach is cutting off all after dinner snacking cold turkey. [I would usually leave a ton of extra calories for after dinner to have a nice treat…
  • also greek yogurt will work! I also add a squeeze of lemon juice
  • Just to add to what everyone has said, you may be starting gaining muscles (as you mentioned that you are now exercising). Muscles are much heavier than fat, and actually burn calories so in the long term this will be a double benefit. I'd measure instead of weighting, as the others have said. You are doing great!
  • I'm gonna add to the choir and guess that you have definitely being undercounting your calories. A male eating at 1500 cal a day would be feeling FAMISHED, definitely not eating 3 meals a day at fast food type of place. A burger with small fries will take you to at least 1000 cal in most cases, an egg and cheese roll will…
  • or take a small tiny piece and toss it when nobody is watching. That's my trick when I really can't ignore it or just say no.
  • I'm 5'9 (175cm) , usually around 120lbs (53/55kg). I'm petite built, fit, with wide hips and amazing boobs (32D) I purchased for myself LOL so I'm a 0 or XS in most brands.
  • My problem is that I HATE coffee without milk. I am ok with a drop of anything (cream/Half and half, creamer, skim milk... ) as long as my coffee changes color! :D It is genuinely a tbs, single serve portions but I can re-train my brain to go full black....!
  • amen to OP. Bagels mondays and pizza fridays (or whatever they are) are just my biggest pet peeve LOL
  • Great suggestion! Usually I combine all my snacks into the snacks tab, which ends up being by far my biggest "meal" of the day.
  • Well, "luckily" I have polished anything unhealthy during the last few nights of madness. I wont buy I won't buy I won't buy ... LOL
  • I combined several pieces of advice last night and I "kept" my banana (from breakfast) and my Kind bar (from afternoon snack) for after dinner and I was a good girl, for once. I also left more calories for dinner to have a more filling dinner, which I guess also helped. Watching TV is a HUGE trigger for me, I'd literally…
