YES! I was 235, and lost 50. I hit menopause and gained 30 back :(
-
I have that and eventually paid for it. I enjoy building up the compound :)

"Rise" by Katy Perry usually gets me off my butt and exercising

Just started back up again after gaining most of my weight loss back. In menopause now and gaining weight from just looking at food lately :( 40 Minutes walking 3 MPH at 10% incline. 16 minutes Ab work

I kind of wish that I had that issue. I go days without :(

From what I have read, when you gain muscle mass, your body burns more calories. You gain muscle mass through exercise (ie cardio and lifting).

I like a rice cake, 1 tbsp of natural peanut butter with about 6 dark chocolate chips.

I am from MA, but I have lived in CA, NC, Belgium and now in VA.

Almost Happy New Year! I am a mom of 3 (ages 22, 15 and 12). I am 44 years old have had 4 surgeries on my torso area. The last 2 years I have managed to lose 50 pounds through exercise and eating better. I managed to gain back 15lbs the last 6 months though without changing my routine. I recently found out that I am in…

I love my ice cream and PB. I got this recipe from a Nutritionist and I am addicted to eat. Manage Recipe Cookie Dough yogurt Servings 1 calories per serving 195 0.50 tbsp., Dark Chocolate Morsels 1 Tbs, Natural Peanut Butter 0.75 cup, Greek Yogurt - Vanilla

This sounds like the place for me. I am 44 years old. The last 2 years, I have been exercising 4-6 times a week and managed to lose 40 pounds (started at 235). I added a nutritionist when I stopped losing weight last January and hit 185 in June. That is when it all went to hell on me. The last 6 months, I have gained back…

Totally bogus as my daughter was 2 when she was was diagnosed type 1. Type 1 is when the pancreas stops making insulin.
-
My nutritionist said that 2 cheats a week is good so that your body doesn't crave things and then you end up overeating. I have it down to once a week myself currently.
-
I do understand that, just saying that it makes sense that the body would need to produce something more for carbs. lol
-
I started on this and I am now running 5k six days a week just to hear the story! I also bought the yearly sub just to be able to move on in the story faster.
-
I do not like running, but I also enjoy the feeling that I get when I am finished running. I started using the Zombies Run app. It tells a story while you run interrupting your music at times. It gives a little something else to listen to. You can even put Zombie chases on so that they will chase you while jogging and you…

I have been trying Cauliflower rice. It is a decent alternative if you are worried about the calories of rice. I am also trying to make bread so that it has less junk in it than store bought. As to the insulin comment, my daughter is a Type 1 diabetic and has to give insulin for all the carbs that she eats. Her body no…

I am an ice cream fanatic. I LOVE my ice cream. I have found a good alternative though in 3/4 cup Vanilla Greek yogurt, 1 TBL of Natural PB (no added anything) and a few Dark chocolate chips. This is my go to snack when craving something sweet. I allow myself some ice cream once a week as my treat. I gain weight like that…

I haven't been getting my period for years now (Mirena), so I have no clue, but this makes me wonder if I am still gaining/holding weight when I should be getting it. Hmmm…..

Sadly I do love that show as well. It inspires me to keep going! Although I am doing it without surgery, it also inspires me not to ever get that big :(

I would also suggest some therapy, not psychology. It could help you with your self esteem. My BMI is "Obese", yet I do not appear to be obese. I have lost 40 pounds in the last 20 months, and I am almost in the "overweight" BMI. Don't get hung up on the categories for BMI. Have you spoken with your parents? My kids are…

It just gets too hot here during the summers. I can't wait to for winter! I am a bit clueless when it comes to nutrition. I started my journey in 2015 and managed to lose about 40 pounds just with walking on an incline treadmill daily. I had to visit a nutritionist as I started to gain weight when I quit diet soda's. My…

Have I mentioned that I dislike running? Lol. I have been using the Zombies Run app while on the treadmill. I would like to go out more to run, but it is too humid here still for me.

Great job on the 5k! I have been jogging 5k's lately as well, but have yet to do an event. Just keep going and it will get better :) You will see a time improvement the more that you do it!
-
That is true… I used to run 6 min miles, so 34-40 is slower to me. As I said, not doing it to run faster, doing it for the exercised calorie burn so long is probably better :)
-
Good points. I am jogging a very slow 5k. I was going at 8.7 KMH (34 minutes for 5K) and have slowed it down to 8KMH which is about 37 minutes. I am just doing it to get the 5k In and not to really improve my time, so it is pretty gentle. Once girls start up with their aikido again (we have all been a bit ill), I will be…

I have always had high Triglycerides. I went to a nutritionist and have been exercising more. I have cut down a lot on my breads and pasta's as well. Watch what you eat and lose some weight and that should help (unless you are genetically prone to it as I am as well)

I am using Samsung health and it is negating any exercise that I do.

I am aiming for 150-160 at 5'6". I was too skinny when I was younger that I did not want to go back to that. 160 is just above "normal" range for my height and build.

Jogged on the treadmill today doing intervals. 2 minutes at 3.7 MPH and then 4 minutes at 5.5 MPH for a total of 30 minutes with a 5 minute cool down ( 5MPH, 4.5 MPH, 3.5 MPH and then 2.5MPH). Heart rate stayed under 174, so I was happy. Tomorrow is a 3 mile walk :)
