I find it very difficult to take any time for myself. Instead of combining it with running, I think I will mindfully sit still and set a timer so I can shut my eyes. Thanks, this might be exactly what I needed. Starting this morning.

It helps when you constantly tell yourself that you can have it, you just have to (insert extra exercise here or whatever) to account for the calories! The minute I tell myself I can't have it, I just want it more and that sets me up for being grumpy.

I can empathize. My youngest just graduated high school and I am definitely feeling the empty nest thing. It's hard to deal with the sudden change from having your life revolve around your kids to having your own life. For me, it feels like my whole purpose in life just changed and I'm battling against turning to "comfort…

Thank you for this post. Two years ago I was 3 pounds from my goal weight. I decided to try life without mfp and estimate my food intake. I maintained for a year and then put on 17 pounds because I thought I was doing ok and had put away the scale. I was horrified to find out how much I had gained back. I just changed my…

My face was freezing this morning. I'm not sure what to do about it. I considered one of those (motorcycle) cloth face shields but wouldn't your breath just make it wet?

I've never given myself any "rewards". It's a nice idea

I can sympathize. My husband and I started this together after I noticed he was looking really unhealthy with his shirt off. He weighed himself and found out he had gained 10lbs in a month. I was heavier than I wanted to be as well and I told him that we can't complain about it unless we were willing to do something about…

There are times I want to binge like this. I pour a glass of water and drink a little first, then I measure out a portion and cut that in half. I take the half portion to another room and eat it as slowly as possible. If it's chocolate, I let it melt in my mouth... When I'm finished, I log the calories. Then I brush my…

I'm new to the friend thing, but I log every day.

I used to do Yoga Booty Ballet and Core Rythms and did well, but I wanted something easier to maintain. Now I use a spincycle and watch Netflix at the same time. 30 minutes nets decent calorie loss at a moderate pace. So easy!

I am 5' 4" and have been steadily losing 1.5 to 2 lbs a week. I have 30lbs to go and I know I am averaging 1200 cals a day. I spend 30 min. at least 3-5 times a week on my spincycle (moderate-brisk effort) watching Netflix! I switch it up and do other exercises on nights that I don't spin to keep my body guessing. I think…

I read while spin-cycling. My body does all the work and my mind is having a great time.
