Thanks for your story Syreina, it's good to know another shortie was able to get down to (below) 110. Good job for sticking with it for two years and doing it the healthy. gradual way! That is what I'm trying to do too.

I'm 4'11.75". My current weight is 168... My goal is 120. I wonder if 110 is possible. I guess it's my fantasy weight rather than my goal weight  I'm glad to find this thread. Losing weight has always been hard for me. Hoping to do it this time sloooowly and gradually.

My goal is to have lost 1 pound by Sunday. I think I've finally gotten it through my head that weight loss has to be gradual. Especially for me, because it's always really hard for me to be hungry and what I've done in the past is set a low calorie goal for myself (above 1200 per day but not enough for me to feel full) and…

Wow, you look amazing! Congratulations on all your hard work!

I often have this same problem. I've gotten better about it but it's so easy to slip back into it. Some things I've found helpful are drinking herbal tea instead of snacking and keeping my hands busy by knitting or doing cross-stitch when I watch TV so I'm not amusing myself by eating. I also try to keep most sweets and…

I was trying to be clever and passive aggressive but I’m not sure that is really working for me. I appreciate Karafa95’s response. I’m not sure if that was communicated. If what she is doing is working for her, that is great and maybe there is something valuable for me there. I didn’t ask for opinions about the Jillian…

Thank you karafa95. Thank goodness we have such knowledgeable fellow posters who are willing to give their opinions so freely, without even being asked!

Thank you for your response, diannethegeek!

This isn't English class and I read your statement just fine  Welcome, best of luck to you in your weight loss journey! It's so great you met a great guy and have a lovely little baby!

String cheese. Hard boiled eggs. Almonds. Apples, oranges, bananas, etc. Carrot sticks. Celery sticks. Half of a peanut butter sandwich. A container of yogurt. A small salad with chicken or other protein. Kashi granola bars. Whole wheat, sugar free crackers. Half of an avocado. (I'm a little more liberal about letting…

I try to remind myself that I have years and years ahead of me and I hope to lose weight and then maintain that loss over the rest of my life, so it doesn't have to come off immediately. There's no deadline. I got into a cycle where I would decide something like "I'm going to lose 5 lbs this month by eating 1200 calories…

Wow, well it is great that you are motivated and working towards getting healthier. How does hypothyroid make it difficult (sorry, I do not know a lot about it)? Good luck to you, I know you can do it

I'm 31. No kids. I gained thirty pounds in four years when I became an accountant and started sitting all day. In my most recent weight loss attempt, I started at 154.5 lbs, I'm now down to 152.5 pounds. I'm trying to lose one pound per week by watching my diet and exercising most days of the week. Any faster weight loss…

Gummy bears/worms. Ice cream. Oreo cookies. Buttered popcorn.

No, that is not something I've ever really had to worry about that I know of. Who knows, it could very well have been an iron deficiency. I think my dr suggested it might have been a calcium deficiency, but who knows. I never stopped using dairy products, so maybe an iron deficiency makes more sense. A time previous to…

This is just my own experience but I was a vegetarian for four years in my late teens and early twenties and it didn't really work well for me. I like to cook and I ate a lot of fresh food, and a lot of tofu, beans, and grains, but I just never really felt satisfied by my diet and I never stopped craving meat. Also, my…

Wow, that is great news!! Yay!!

Wow, that is a lot to deal with at one time. I too am usually a comfort eater but if things get REALLY bad I stop wanting to eat. For me, this usually only lasts at most a few days, so it isn't too detrimental to my health. I've dealt with it by eating unhealthy, calorie dense foods (i.e. cookies) that are small and easier…

Thank you so much for your thoughts and support

Welcome Ponderosakaren :) I've found this space to be very helpful, I don't post a lot but I read people's posts and comments every morning and I find it helps my keep the right mindset to continue losing weight. Thirteen years ago (I can't freaking believe it's been that long but it has) I took a year off before college…

When I was eighteen, I took a year off before college and worked on goat and sheep dairy farms. I went from being quite sedentary to moving around a lot every day, milking sheep twice per day, cutting grass under the electric fence, etc. I was vegetarian at the time and I think I ate fairly healthily, but all throughout…
