When I travel I tend to do 30k steps per day and only tend to eat 2-3 meals per day. Difficult for me to go over calories when I am so active for the entire day. The problem is when I am working and sitting at a desk for 12 hours a day :( I wear my Fitbit and on my last vacation I was burning 5k calories per day. This was…

Most of us reach maintenance, stop tracking, and then panick and rejoin once we have gained back a bunch. Then back to losing weight.
-
Maintaining is most definitely tougher than losing. I felt like I was on a mission when I was losing. It is soooo difficulty to restrict yourself with the goal being to stay the same. The human brain does not view staying the same as a worthy goal.

I spent a weekend chasing two little ones around and doing errands. I clocked in ~15k steps on my Fitbit per day. If your little ones are anything like the two fireballs I had to babysit, you are active!

What time do you go to sleep? I get up at 5am to hit the gym but need to sleep at 9pm yo do that.

Which KKK chapter do you belong to?

Sync hasn't worked since yesterday for me. However, if I unlink and re-link fitbit on the MFP app then it syncs. However, it is annoying to have to do this manually every time. These are the steps that I take to sync manually: 1. Go on Iphone MFP app 2. Go to Apps & Devices 3. Click on 'connected' 4. Click on fitbit…

Triple cheeseburger with a poutine and coke. I felt like the king of Moldova while eating it but then the deed is done and I wonder what the heck I just did.

I highly doubt that you are eating 1,700 calories and gaining weight when your TDEE is 2,600 calories. Eating out 95% of the time and trying to track calorie intake accurately is not a viable combo.

No need to look down on others. I have lost 17 pounds since January when I first learned the true scope of CICO. It is really simple - we don’t know what we don’t know. And the majority of people view dieting as a mysterious and not well understood process so it takes most of us a little while longer to find and believe in…

Thanks. I joined in 2018 so just learning my way through. Lost about 18 pounds and now I am skinny fat and need to focus on recomp. I have always heard about Uber fit people (i.e the rock) getting cut by never eating candy, pastries, ice cream, etc so I have been curious if I need to become that crazy to be toned. I have…

You won’t like hearing this but I went from eating out an average of twice a day to an average of ~3 times a month. I just couldn’t take weight loss seriously while going to restaurants that made it impossible for me to know how many calories I was ingesting. And whenever I did go out I ONlY went to chains that display…

Good to hear that yours doesn’t overstate. To be honest, I am just glad that I no longer have to eat only 50% of my exercise as that’s what I was advised previously. If anything, I will eat more than recommended to find out what my true maintenance calorie level is.
-
No. But I checked whether the understatement of my CO in CICO was different in January vs February vs March and the understatement varied but is of a similar size. I would assume that the water weight loss would have happened in late December as that’s when I stopped eating out all together and started to eat healthy and…

Didn’t notice much of a change until I lost 10 pounds. And the change became more noticeable after losing 15.

Statistically speaking, there are always going to be people on either end. Seems rare to be that low though so I would DEF get a second opinion before becoming discouraged.

Portion sizes are the issue for me. I never realized it but I was having 600 calories of pasta per meal and thinking that it was the "typical" serving size as that's how it is always eaten in my culture. Turns out I def was not eating one or 1.5 servings...

If you still see a lot of fat on your body then personally I would continue the deficit. Maybe a 0.5 pounds a week deficit coupled with a strength training program? That's what I am doing now that I am near my goal weight and so far so good. I am no expert though so hoping some of the old timers on here can chime in.

Boggles my mind how difficult some folks on these forums find it to stay on topic. My question was strictly about logging - for those going WAY off topic please know that not everyone cares to hear your answer on topics totally unrelated to the question at hand. This is a public forum though so feel free to proceed if…

Not enough to want to trade something else for it. This isn't a big deal for me - was willing to do it if it was a freebie but if anything I need to make more space for my two loves - cookies and ice cream (haven't had much of them lately).

Thanks for the advice everyone. I can't afford the extra calories so I am just going to go with slow cooking chicken with chicken broth and lime juice.
-
That's not an option. I am on a deficit and don't want to go back to old ways.
-
What about evaporation during the cooking process? If I have learned anything on these forums is that shoddy logging is often a key culprit so I want to avoid it.

I workout at 520am and don't eat anything. However, I drink a LOT of water at the gym. Likely go through 1-1.5 litres of water. Tricks my stomach into feeling full which deceives my mind into feeling energized.

Fitbit gives me ~1k calories each day and I eat back ~500 calories on average.

How can bananas be 0 points?? I buy these big bananas that are each 200 calories. I can eat 5 bananas no problem. That's 1,000 calories or almost 65% of my daily calories. I also used to binge on grapes, cherries, and apples when I was gaining weight. It is only since joining MFP that I realized that eating so many…

Get an iPad, Netflix, download movies, and get on the elliptical and watch movies on your iPad while doing so. I can stay on the elliptical for two hours watching a movie and not even notice the time. 1000 calories burned just like that!

I use Fitbit and eat 50% of the excercise adjustment.

So many things about this study worry me. I have to assume that the 152 people knew that they were part of a "study". To not believe that they would then be on their BEST behaviour is foolish. This study can't really be used as a good proxy for the impact that this change will have on the membership. I sure hope I am wrong…
