  • I maintained my weight eating about 100-200 less than my FitBit Charge HR says burn until I broke my hand. Then I ate because I was bored. But yes, I find it somewhat accurate but err on the side of caution. I have MFP set to sedentary and see adjustments of around 600-1200 depending on my day. But I always hit 15K, with…
  • I love snorkeling. Every “beach” vacation or cruise vacation we take, I end up losing weight despite the unlimited food and alcohol because I spend 16 hours a day swimming and photographing fish.
  • That's what I was going to suggest. Either a cable machine or bands that you can strap to your wrist. BTW - my condolences on your hand. I broke mine several years ago and it was a PIA. I had to pack up my entire house and take care of two 2yr olds with only one hand.[/quote] Thanks. It's been a pain, but I'm making…
  • Thank you for your reply.
  • I’ve run quite a few 13.1s in both the heat and the cold and can say without hesitation I’ve never had to spit. In fact, I find borderline nauseating to be in a race and everyone is spitting their nastiness all around you. Breath in thru your nose, exhale from your mouth.
  • I don't care who they ridicule, I don't belong to PF or any other gym for that matter. And while I certainly didn't have to comment on your post, I'm simply offering a suggestion of just "letting it go" just as I have regarding the pizza classes at my favorite Italian restaurant. In all honesty, I don't give a crap about…
  • I use total calories but on a weekly basis. Example, I am 32, F, 5'4''. During the spring and summer (my running season) I maintain on 17,000 calories per week running 35-40mpw with a physically demanding job. Over the fall and winter when I am doing less dedicated running (20-25mpw), I drop that to about 16,000. Some days…
  • If you don't like PF, don't join. If you don't want to use a massage chair, don't sit in them. The local up-scale Italian restaurant down the road from me offers pizza-making and other cooking classes once a month. I go there to eat and enjoy the atmosphere and wouldn't want to go thru the hassle of making those items in…
  • I absolutely use Apple Cider Vinegar to clean the detergent dispenser in my washing machine. Works better than soap for some reason. I also use it mixed along with baking soda to clean the inside of my copper pots. Fantastic cleaning agent...bad diet though.
  • Nutella. Because I just can’t stop eating it.
  • I agree with you. Speaking as someone whose cat used to go outside, I stopped that after the first baby bird incident. But the duckling that was eaten alive be by a hawk didn’t live in a barn with 20,000 other chicks for its entire life. It’s life was cut short by the natural food chain not because I Chicken/egg farmer…
  • It’s very eye opening when you take that 500 calorie item, such a hot chocolate that doesn’t even count as a meal, and then you realize it’ll take Running a 10K to counterbalance it.
  • I take more issue with the inhumane treatment of animals used not only for food but for clothing as well than believing it will or will not benefit me from eating meat or not. I do eat meat products but feel very guilty if part of those products go uneaten. Those are my own internal feelings and I don’t judge others for…
  • Nope. I get nipply when I run and sweat and I wouldn’t appreciate strangers coming up to tell me something I don’t give a %*#^ about.
  • Thank you for the tips. Over the late winter and spring and summer last year, my mileage was 6/4/6/0/6/9-12/0 range as I was in the midst of races and was aiming for 35ish per week. My first 6 was either some intervals, or my attempt at a fartlek (run easy for a song, run a little bit harder for a song, etc). The 4 and 6…
  • I like and drink both. Dairy 1% and Silk Vanilla Soy milk. I sometimes just prefer one taste over the other.
