Pretty much all of my exercise is recreational based except for lifting. Cycling, rock climbing, hiking, skiing...my cycling can become "work" if I'm training for something, but that's pretty temporary a couple times per year...
I tend to think of all of those things as both recreation and exercise.0 -
dancing.
blech to shoveling.. thankfully I live on the *west* side of Buffalo and usually don't have to do this.0 -

I love snorkeling. Every “beach” vacation or cruise vacation we take, I end up losing weight despite the unlimited food and alcohol because I spend 16 hours a day swimming and photographing fish.2

I love to travel, and don’t mind one bit if I’m walking on average 15km a day exploring. Was in Japan in November and walked 21km one day
Other than that I like mild hiking in the spring and summer, and live about 1hr away from some really nice mountain scenery.1 -

Operating the snow blower. You don't really push it as much as follow, guide, and steer it but at the end of the row you need to swing it around and it is heavy. But we have not had very much snow this year. It's all south!!1

See, mine is a single stage, which means you push the damn thing. Easier than shoveling, but a workout regardless. And we had a lot of snow this year.
Not may favourite. I like walking the dogs.2 -

Ditto (if we're talking favorite). But I also love playing in the snow (when there's real snow), playing beach games (volleyball, team Frisbee, etc.), and competing against my BF in anything athletic (though he wins. every. time.).0 -
