  • I went to Ikea this week. I was due to move overseas, but 'Rona had other ideas. As a result, I had given away my furniture and all my clothes etc are in storage, so I've been living out of a suitcase and some random packing boxes. Now that stores are open again, off to Ikea to get some essentials for the next few months.…
  • @evangsimmons170 - your week is quite something. Talk about a work ethic!!!!! With bells on! Congrats on the job offer: am delighted for you.
  • @jugar - thanks so much for organising all this: I imagine that the work you and the other team leaders do behind the scenes must be quite something: several hours per week, at least. It is very much appreciated. Thanks everyone for your posts: it's wonderful to see the group dynamic of encouragement and support.

  • @jugar - your red lentil pasta sounds great.
  • @jugar My recipe for salmon/sweet potato fishcakes is super simple:* 1 large sweet potato. * 800g fresh or tinned salmon. In lockdown, I've been using tinned salmon: 800g. * 3 stalks of spring onion, chopped. * 1 tablespoon of mixed herbs. * Something to coat your fish-cakes: at the moment, I'm using dessicated coconut as…
  • I love your challenge: 10k steps for 100 days. that's awesome!! You're lucky to have some people to do it with also.
  • This morning - I cooked up a storm: * sweet potato, salmon & spring onion fish-cakes. * peppers stuffed with chick-peas in a tomato/smoked paprika sauce * rosemary bread All coeliac-friendly. Cooked in batches to freeze and re-heat during the week.
  • Apologies to the team: I'm normally much better at team sports. I'll make it up in the coming week. I've eaten a TON load of salt this week: had an emotional wobble so hit the potato-chips. HARD. So I'm carrying a lot of salt-water/weight. PW: 135.5 CW: 139.5 LTD: -3.5 (temporary gain) [/quote]
  • Folks - I've had 2 days of comfort eating. An important work project went awry; I needed the comfort of some multi-packs of crisps. However - my walking and exercise has been good to counter the calorie spike. I think I've also been keeping my calorie count too low generally, so my brain was probably fat deprived. Adding…

  • @jugar I've re-introduced fish, so sounds like we do indeed have the same diet. Happy to share. : )

  • Hello! yes to the mid-year resolutions!!! This july refocussing is helping me track my progress and my adherence to healthy habits. If you're having tummy trouble, maybe take a break from what you're currently eating. I'm coeliac and allergic to lots of other grains including corn and sugar. Check out Elena's pantry for…
  • Hello All, thank you so much for letting me join- I'm delighted to be a part of the group. I'm based in Dublin (Ireland), we are just coming out of lockdown - but everyone is still working from home. Last year I was just 3 lbs away from goal weight. However, after a death in the family at Christmas I re-gained most of that…
  • I'd like to join thanks.

  • Hi All, Thanks @RangerRickL for this thread and accountability. I was down to 1.1kg away from my target weight last year, and after a death in the family it has slowly slid up to my starting weight. I discovered yesterday that I had been seriously underestimating my weekly lockdown take-away, which I hope has accounted for…
  • @PatriceFitnessPal Hi Patrice, I totally agree: incremental changes all add up. I realised that I was spending so much time messing about with my morning coffee that I often didn't have time for a pre-work work-out. So I ditched the coffee, and now have that 30mins instead for exercise. I have my first coffee of the day…
  • only 4lbs away!! Congrats on coming so far. That's brilliant.

  • @carriestrine @kstpierre52020 Thanks for recommending the book 'half a cookie'. I'll definitely read it. It's inspiring to see people are able to move away from CICO to being able to maintain their goal weight without always having to beat themselves up and watching the measurements creep back up.
  • I've noticed a lot of people are talking about mindful eating. Paul McKenna has a good app/book to help with this: https://www.paulmckenna.com/thin He talks about how by mindlessly eating what's on our plate rather than focusing on how full/satisfied our stomachs are, we're letting the minimum wage mcdonalds (or whoever)…
  • Hi All, I've been away for weeks, but have been tracking. It's lovely to come back and see the progress you're all making. This morning I finally figured out why I've been putting on weight over the past few months: even though I thought I'd been counting properly, I was SERIOUSLY under-estimating the calories in my weekly…
  • Hi All, hope you're all doing well? @kstpierre52020 - how are you doing? I was struggling a few weeks ago as I was being too strict, eating only 1200 and not eating any exercise calories. I couldn't understand why I was gaining rather than losing. Someone here (couldn't find the text, apologies) suggested my body was in…
  • @kbushe3221 - thanks. I think the mistake I was making was not eating my exercise calories.
  • how do you stick to 1200/1300 consistently? i get so hungry I can't even think.
  • https://www.healthstatus.com/health_blog/body-fat-calculator-2/frame-size-how-much-does-it-affect-your-weight/ you might have a tiny frame.............I guess your bra size (not the cup part, the under-the-boob- size) would help you determine whether you have a tiny frame? Same with pelvis measurements? If you're wearing a…
