Ya, I'm doing keto now, reached my goal weight but trying to do maintenance at this point!

I add cream of tarter to things, since it has a high potassium content. I treat it like a supplement.

Have you wondered if you have an eating disorder, such as binge eating disorder? If so, you will need some help to overcome it.

On the topic of chocolate, I don't like white chocolate and don't see the point in it.

Been there, just like you wrote. Part of taking back personal power over a bad situation like that is taking control of your own health. Geez, I've never been in a magazine, but if you did it before, you can do it again! Sometimes the things people say to us turn into things we start to believe and say to ourselves.…

Yes, I know it occurs naturally in many foods. For example, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, autolyzed yeast, hydrolyzed yeast, yeast extract, soy extracts, and protein isolate, as well as in tomatoes and cheeses. So I have cut out tomatoes and all dairy, and never have soy sauce or foods with any kind of yeast in the…

I've been doing keto for 4-5 months. Nearing my weight loss goal, and fully intending on continuing keto once I reach it since I feel better and healthier.

Oh ya, keto is hard over the holidays. I'll be having a few cheat days, and I know it will throw me out of ketosis. Hey, I need a break every now and then! Once January hits I'll be right back to my strict keto diet.

I used to buy so much every time I shopped there. Now I only go with a list, and it is much better. I used to get the produce but it is gross and moldy really fast compared to my regular grocery store. Also, the meat is sooooo expensive and they don't have a butcher so I also go elsewhere for meat. However there are some…

I am on a keto diet, started with intermittent fasting but as the months go along I'm just not hungry in the day so I end up having dinner as my main meal, and maybe some snacks for a few hours after that. I can plan out everything and it just makes life simpler. I feel great (not tired!) and am close to reaching my goal…

I kinda feel like almond butter, although it tastes good, is over-rated for its actual health benefits and WAY too expensive. Especially since most of them are not organic and fills with pesticides.

I've made lots of little mistakes like that, but in the long run it won't affect your weight loss goals. I took some TUMS and then after realized they have tons of sugar. Bummer, but I needed them at the time! Constipation is super common in the keto diet. As others have mentioned, certain forms of magnesium are natural…

Well there are tons of cauliflower-related things, like cauliflower "rice"....I really don't like cauliflower!

Anything with MSG makes me sick. I threw up once in the middle of the night after eating a bag of Doritos not knowing it has tons of MSG. So I need to avoid it completely. People sometimes add MSG to their cooking, especially asian food, which is too bad for me.

Excellent topic, glad you brought it up. I think I am still in the "slave to the scale" phase of my weight loss and fitness journey. I get mad and sad when I gain weight. I check myself every morning after going to the bathroom. I've learned that I am higher naturally around my period and also if I am constipated, which is…

To the OP, I'd be happy to be a MFP friend on our keto journey! I did the keto diet for a year, lost a ton of weight and felt great, gained a bunch during emotional eating with COVID and not being active, and started again 4 months ago. So far I have actually reached my goal weight but to be smack in the middle of a…

Well I'm on a ketogenic diet, which is fantastic for me. Many of my friends tell me it's a fad diet, that they don't trust any diet that limits fruit, that I'm doing damage to my body, and so on. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but if I disagree with your diet and it is working for you, I won't shame you for it.…

I skip breakfast so I can eat later at night.

I don't intentionally add fat. However I do cook with both ghee and avocado oil, take a spoonful of unrefined coconut oil everyday for the MCTs, and snack on fatty nuts that are low carb.

Like you, I picked the highest number in the "normal weight range" of BMI. Halfway there!

I use garden of life for protein/meal replacement in almond milk, and a scoop of orgain collagen peptides (grass-fed origin). I also add a bunch of other things to make it healthier, like chia seeds. That's what is great about making your own shakes, is that you can personalize them to whatever you want!

Both of those, especially sardines are one of the cleanest fish out there because sardines are so low on the food chain. Great choice, and I envy you for being able to eat them! Seeing them with the heads cut off and that shiny skin just grosses me out too much. Otherwise they are such a healthy food. o:)

I hear you about fish- it's a great source of protein. I have fish every other day for dinner. I alternate between wild-caught salmon and wild-caught cod. I'd be careful about that species of fish...anything that is a bottom feeder or really high on the food chain (like tuna and shark and swordfish) will have higher…

I'm doing keto and intermittent fasting, and it works well for me for so many reasons. However, I'm not gonna lie, it is very regimented, difficult, and you can't go out to eat often with friends because you never know what kinds of sugars are in the foods. I'm not one to say keto is better or worse than any other…
