I've been measuring myself for years. I am losing inches, going down in size, but the weight on the scale doesn't move too much either way. I lift weights and have realized that I am gaining muscle. I am a mindful eater. I try to plan my snacks so I'm not "starving" and become an emotional eater. Not saying I never eat emotionally, we all do at some point. I will try the HALT technique.

My exercise plan is what I've been doing for years. I lift weights 3 x a week, with a short cardio afterwards. The other 4 days I work on cardio. I mix it up between running, walking, bike, boxing, jump rope and aerobics/dance. I try for at least 30 minutes of cardio on those days. My lifting is usually at least 30 minutes…

My meal plan is pretty simple. I watch my carbs since I'm diabetic, but I do not make any food "bad". I believe in moderation and pay attention to my macros. I rarely hit my protein since I'm not a big meat eater, but I do well with my carbs which is what I have to do.

My main reason for returning to the 5% Challenge, is the support I receive from my teammates. My goals are to lose weight (as usual) and to lower my A1c by diet and exercise. I've lost inches and sizes, but the scale is my nemesis!

I've been taking my measurements for years, usually every 4-6 weeks. I think I'll start on Saturday, January 7th and measure about halfway through, and then again at the end of this challenge.
