  • Pro tip: Unless your blender is super powerful, chop the banana before freezing :)
  • I LOVE SUGAR. But at night I often find the real cause is because I am thirsty. Try drinking some herbal tea or just water. You could also try eating some fruit
  • A constant struggle for me too! I feel sick if I eat directly before I work out, but sometimes I don't have enough energy to actually work out (especially first thing in the morning or after work)! My go-tos: - A large teaspoon of peanut butter, sometimes accompanied with a thermos of black coffee (which I sip on the way…
  • Hey! I had a quick look at your diary. The only thing I can think of is that you're not burning as many calories as you think you are. Machines at the gym and My Fitness Pal are often inaccurate when it comes to calories burned. Do you wear a heart monitor? This would probably give a more accurate reading. This doesn't…
  • Hey girl. I'm pretty sure your TDEE (1700) includes your activity level, so you're generally not supposed to eat back exercise calories. However if your TDEE is based on you doing a certain number of hours of exercise, but you do more exercise than that, you can eat back the extra exercise calories lost. E.g. Your TDEE is…
  • EDIT** Oops sorry double posted.
  • Thanks everyone for your replies. You have all pretty much confirmed what I thought - that people who are slim or skinny are simply people who don't eat above their TDEE (whatever that number might be) and likely eat less than they think/say they do. (Excluding people with medical conditions). There are so many people who…
  • I'm a massive stress eater. While I have major assignments or exam period, I usually give myself a higher calorie goal to give me more calories so I can snack while studying. One thing that stops me overeating is if I study outside my house - like in the library. My university has libraries open til late. Is this an option…

  • Hey! A few answers to your questions 1) Can you sustain this speed of weight loss? No. When you are overweight you tend to lose weight quickly when you start dieting, but it slows down after a bit. Don't be discouraged! A good aim is to lose 1-2 pounds a week. I'm only losing 0.5lb a week, but it's better than nothing! 2)…
  • Hey, I know exactly where you're coming from. I am same height, same weight and around the same goal weight too. However I have my intake set on 1550 and it seems to work. I don't weigh myself because I hate the scale, and weight fluctuation is bad for my mental health, so I go based on how my clothes are fitting and what…
  • OK, say you create a recipe and the whole batch is 2000 calories. If you divide the batch into 8 equal portions, each portion will be approximately (2000 ÷ 8 =) 250 calories. Each portion won't be perfect - as in it won't be exactly 250 calories - but it will all add up in the end
  • Hey, I believe that if you use the TDEE method exercise is already accounted for in the number. So you shouldn't eat back your exercise calories. E.g. You calculated your TDEE saying you exercise 3 times a week. You shouldn't eat your exercise calories for those 3 times you exercise. But if you exercise MORE than that…
  • Why did I come here? I have a paper to write.
  • Always need some recipe inspiration! Thanks :)
  • Tee hee, great minds think alike.
  • Hey, this is because oats soak up liquid and become mushy, so it's not surprising the shake is all thick and gross when you drink it a few hours later. Maybe try keeping the oats in a separate container, and then when it comes to drinking the shake, add the dry oats and stir in. I kinda like my shakes chunky :P
  • When I started uni I also ate to relieve stress. Then I joined the gym and exercised for stress instead. It makes you feel better about yourself, controls your appetite and makes weight loss easier. Are you exercising? Maybe join a team sport! That's always fun :)
  • Egg is a great protein source, you could eat 1 egg a day until they are gone? What I like to do is make a frittata - it is like a quiche but no pastry. Just eggs and a bunch of veggies and a little cheese to taste. Maybe try a pumpkin, feta & spinach frittata? YUMMEH
  • When I first decided to attack my binging (when it was at its worst) I did the following: - Logged my binges. Seeing how many calories I was consuming on a regular basis was eye opening - Took photos of myself - I noticed the weight gain and I realisd I didn't want to look like that anymore - Got rid of all my…
  • HOLY **** you lost so much weight! In 10 months! You look like a totally different person! Incredible
  • It's weird, I trained for swimming most of my primary and high school life and now I do it for cardio every now and then. I find it relaxing. I was never taught Total Immersion, but I think I have naturally learned to use similar techniques to swim efficiently - powerful but slow, efficient strokes. In the youtube videos…
  • You look really great! You don't even look 'overweight' :) it must feel AMAZING to get out of the obese zone
  • I don't think Bulmers has 1000 calories. The info was probably in kilojoules because Bulmers is an Irish company. 1000kj is just under 250 calories. Still, definitely adds up :)
  • Nice job, I can see a huge difference in your face alone. Can't believe you did that in only 4 months! :)
