Agree with Sam_I_Am77, you need to read the book. After reading the book and fully understanding the WHY behind his program, the app I really like using is BIG LIFTS, one of the few apps I've ever paid for. The app is very simple, plug in your 1RM (training) and the app figures out each lift, and best of all for me, it…

I'm trying to re-energize this forum, and hope you all contribute. I've recently re-started my journey after finishing my Master's degree, which ate all my time, and I saw a huge decline in energy and strength, as well as an increase in my waist....not a good combination. So I just finished my first cycle of 5/3/1 doing…

I'm not afraid to say it...I'm scared of the Joker sets. I still need to walk! HA! What is his website? Are you talking about www.jimwendler.com?

Can anyone tell me how to log in a workout on the new app? I was on the treadmill Monday and the eliptical yesterday and couldnt figure it out on my iPhone.
-
Sure, I'm in. Been away for a while, but getting back into it. Not looking so much at dropping pounds as dropping fat. My workouts consist of some cardio with power-lifting (5/3/1), so don't want to sacrifice strength.
-
This!! I love the first set last!
-
Got a copy; will be absorbing and adjusting my workouts starting at the new year. I am starting the 3x3 wave, and love the 5/3/1 wave, which is why I'm holding off.

My toes start to hurt after about 20-30 minutes on the elliptical. Change things up and see how you feel; new shoes, looser lace; tighter lace to keep from slipping or do elliptical once a week and other activities the other days. You may need some sort of arch support in your shoes, but that's for a podiatrist to figure…

I just keep waiting for someone to post workouts from Beyond 5/3/1; I'm too cheap to buy it! :)
-
Get you one. You will use it more than you think, like just mowing the yard or doing housework or walking the dog or whatever. It's fun to play around with.
-
I second this...or doing a split workout if you have time. Perhaps running in the morning and then weights at lunch or after work. Experimentation is going to be your biggest ally here, and finding what works with your goals and your schedule. An example, I already get up at 5am to go to work; no way in hades I'm getting…

You can add me. I usually don't post on the weekends. Those belong to my family, we eat out or go to Starbucks and get the really bad, but oh so good, stuff and then I hit the gym during the week.

Try an ICED white chocolate mocha....AWESOME!
-
one on right shoulder...that will only be the start.
-
An open one?
-
HOLY COW!! That looks amazing! I may have found my new weekend lunch sammich!!
-
But you didn't post a picture??
-
Lots of people have. Look in the groups for IF and there will be some people. I am doing a 16/8 split.
-
This sounds pretty good.

bumping for later

Is it wrong to want to send out friend requests from these posts?

Unfortunately, I have been skipping the deload week. Last week was dealing with hurricane issues, and just couldn't get a work-out in....today I'm paying for it, as I did over-head press and I am hurting.
-
so you are going to be doing 5/3/1 of TWO main lifts in one day? The Bench and then Rows? Seems like that would be lot for 5/3/1, but not overly so if using the rows as an accessory lift. I don't think I would want to tackle two 5/3/1 lifts in one day. Let us know how it works out.
-
Sounds like you hit a good stride....I am still having fun with the accessory work, and will move things around at the last minute, but keep the main lift as is.

Have you tried Lean Gains?
-
Of course you're allowed....this group is meant for ANYONE interested in, have done, or currently following one of the Wendler principles.

If you like the BBB, but hated the assistance work, I strongly recommend you check out the BBB 3-month challenge (http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/most_recent/the_boring_but_big_3month_challenge) WFS This was great and the assistance work is the other main lift, So 5/3/1 of squat, assistance is DL, and reverse…
-
The CONSTANT squatting is why I switched from Starting Strength to 5/3/1.....I made some great gains with SS, but it was just SO redundant, and my legs needed a bigger break than one day.
-
I am loving 5/3/1, and just started a "group" forum. Love to see some high-heeled squats, wait, what was the question?
