I'm doing the same...I lost 40-something pounds the first time around and I SWORE I'd keep it off, but I regained all of it. I've lost about 22 pounds so far this time. I've said it before, but I don't want to go back there EVER AGAIN.

I like my job. However, if I wasn't a police officer, I'd probably (rather) be a professional guitarist.

Chopped, but in the interest of full disclosure, my younger brother is one of the judges :-)

One evening I was running on the sidewalk, on Main Street, approaching an intersection in a crosswalk. I should point out that In our community, pedestrians in crosswalks have the right-of-way. About the time I got there, a Subaru approached Main Street from the side street. The Subaru's driver, checking traffic to his…

So, an update. I drove the two hours to the tailor to try on the newly altered suits. On the first one, the waist on the pants was perfect, the jacket, too. Funny thing though, the pants were now 2 inches TOO SHORT. I came out of the dressing room and said "I think we have a problem". As it turns out, they had to take the…

That he does. He's a fairly famous "celebrity chef", and considered an innovator in the industry. His restaurants are jumping 7 nights a week.

It was a good visit. My brother owns 2 crazy good restaurants in Manhattan....I visit 4 or 5 times a year, and I didn't even TRY to log my food while I was there.

Nice. Glad to hear you're getting healthier. Keep up the good work!

That. Is. AWESOME!

Thanks for the kind words everyone....I think I'm going to wait before I have them taken in, however. I've come to the realization that my goal weight of 240 needs a little tweaking...240 at 47 years old is not quite the same as it was at 35 years old. I think I have to adjust my goal down another 20 pounds. My wife says…

I wear a lot of suits. I like the look of suspenders, but I feel undressed without a belt. I have no idea why it's considered such a fashion no-no to wear both, but until I am sporting a flat belly again it's strictly belts for me.

Once upon a time I was a 40-45 mile a week runner. Now, after several years off I have severe heel pain shortly after, and then the morning after, a run. Nothing has worked to eliminate it.

Since joining MFP I've eliminated wine from my diet, but Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand is my favorite. 2006 was particulary good, in my opinion. Once I demonstrate to myself that I can maintain my goal weight I'll probably reintroduce it to my palate.
