  • ithrowconfetti don't worry! People weren't annoyed at you or offended, they were just concerned for your wellbeing! You've explained your story really well, and hopefully those who were concerned can relax knowing that you are on the right track to a healthier lifestyle/eating pattern. I had braces too for a while and I…
  • 5'6", currently around 128lbs. My calories are set at 1150, but I probably go over this by quite a bit around once a week so it evens out to more. I wear a fitbit and sometimes I'll eat a hundred or so calories over my allowance if I've earned it according to fitbit
  • MFP tracks weight and will graph it? And there are websites that can give you 'time until goal' estimates etc
  • Fruit skewers are fun and colourful. You may want to chop up the fruit yourself or supervise the 8 year old doing that. Then they can have fun threading rainbow colours onto bamboo skewers. You can serve it with a drizzle of melted chocolate, or a pot to dip in, and have dark chocolate yourself/with the adults.
  • My go to is an easy ratatouille. Chop up whatever veg you have (onion, garlic, aubergine, courgette, sweet peppers, greens/leaves, mushrooms all work well). Fry in a little oil/spray oil in a pan until soft (stagger the times if needed eg onion/peppers will take longer than courgette/greens). Add half a tin (or more if…
  • OK I will continue to lift! I really enjoy it and I want to get strong so I can beat my male friends in play fights and so that if I ever feel threatened I have slightly more chance of defending myself/throwing a decent punch... I've found a nice 3-day split workout using only dumbbells on bodybuilding.com, just got back…
  • @SezxyStef Thank you for your advice, I am definitely happy to weigh more if I look good - the number is not the important thing, I just need something tangible/measurable to aim for to keep me motivated :) You're definitely right that I've lost a lot of LBM (I often joke with friends that I am 1% muscle...). I have a…
  • Thank you for the replies! @KarenJanine Thank you for that list! I've been eating a lot of eggs, but I need to eat more quorn/tofu products. I find that nuts/beans etc are often too high in carbs/cals for the protein they contain if I want to fit them into my daily intake alongside fruit and veg etc, but I guess I'll just…
  • Thanks for replying! I've seen the stronglifts 5x5 program around a lot but I don't have access to the big barbells to do squats/deadlifts etc, only dumbbells and kettlebells :( I've been trying to create a routine or two that feels like it uses all my muscles, with kettlebell goblet squats included. I'm a vegetarian, so…
  • I have never been particularly large chested, but I did see my boobs shrink from a big C to an A/B. I was a bit discouraged at first but I've decided to embrace the small boobs! There are so many positives: can go braless (backless dresses look amazing), can wear beautiful flimsy (non-wired if ya want) lingerie, can wear…
  • 30 grams of rolled porridge oats (oatmeal?) made with water is 115 cals and super filling, add sweetener/vanilla or almond extract for negligible cals and tasty flavour. Eat it relatively liquidy and it'll make a massive bowl that leaves me stuffed! I actually then add 100ml skimmed milk (37cals) and 1tbsp soya protein…
  • Wow. I hope for your sake none of the women in your life read this. If there are any...
  • Did you even read the post? He said between ages 20 and 49...
  • I am so glad I found this thread, it has been really informative. I feel I am in a pretty similar situation to you (except I'm female), feel like I'm doing all I can to eat protein but finding it hard to stay within my calorie limit/not feel absolutely stuffed and sick all the time and still only just hitting 80-100g on a…
  • If you like flavour add a drop of vanilla/almond/whatever extract. You get it in the baking section of the supermarket and I can't believe you can add more than 5 calories or so as the flavour is so concentrated. I then also add low-cal sweetener.
  • Oh my god please no. 1) being a man does not automatically equal being a pervy creep (yes going through someone's photos to find pictures of their genitals is creepy. ESPECIALLY when the title says ladies only) TRIGGER WARNING 2) WOMEN DO NOT MAKE MEN PERVY. If you are a pervy creep and act on it you deserve no sympathy or…
  • I have exactly the same thing! I know what you mean, and no I am now at a bmi of around 21 and it's still there for me.... I guess it must go eventually? Also I once heard someone else referring to theirs as a 'chubby kitty' so now mine is my 'fat-cat'. Also if I poke mine (haha) I can feel bone under the fat, so maybe…
  • Sautee with shallots, then at the end add honey and wholegrain mustard and season. It is so yummy. I put a pile of cottage cheese on top, add some extra black pepper and have it as a meal. In fact any veg sauteed in honey and mustard is delicious, quartered raw brussel sprouts is a fave.
  • Long time vegetarian, was a vegan but couldn't manage it while still a student. I'll definitely go back to it in the future though! I honestly don't know what was wrong with child me who didn't like vegetables and would pick chocolate over fruit every time.... FRUIT AND VEG ARE SO DELICIOUS!! Feel free to add :)
  • I get bored of logging things too. What really helps is the barcode scanner on the mfp app. I use Android but I think it's a feature for iPhone users too. It really cuts down time spent plugging in endless ingredients if I'm making a complicated meal.
  • Gingerbread porridge! I use unsweetend soy milk and water, then add a couple of sweeteners, ginger, mixed spice, and sultanas. Sometimes I add ground almonds for protein. Then once it's done stir in half a teaspoon of black treacle (a little goes a long way this stuff is strong). You get a delicious, golden brown bowl of…
  • Boil the kettle, pour boiling water over tea bag. Let it sit for a bit. Then I normally add soy or regular milk, and sweetener. Love tea: vanilla chai and sticky toffee are my current favourites. Almost like a 5 calorie warm dessert :)
  • I keep fat free yoghurts (activia brand, especially vanilla yummmm) in the freezer. Around 60-70 cals BUT they take forever to eat! You have to scrape off layers of icy yoghurty goodness so it takes me a good half hour/45 mins to eat one.
  • These results show the benefits of PEOPLES' downregulation of negative emotion during conflict for marital satisfaction and point to PEOPLES' constructive communication as a mediating pathway. Now it makes sense. Everyone feels emotions.
  • I'm 5'6" and currently aiming for 126 lbs (9 stone), but will probably want to go lower if I ever get there!
  • Yes I am a spoon too! At the moment I'm looking pretty much exactly like your first picture - you're also giving me motivation you look amazing in the second pic! One benefit of spoon is that I find my waist looks small compared to my 'shelf'....such an unsexy description.
  • Slice mushrooms, pan fry with a spritz of cooking oil spray until softened. Add loads of spinach and a couple tablespoons of water, and put a lid on the pan, leave until the spinach has wilted. While that's cooking put a piece of wholemeal/multiseed bread in the toaster. Take the lid off the pan and let it simmer for a bit…
  • Requiem for a Dream is hard work, horrifically depressing but still so worth it, and the film is the best film ever made so watch that too! If you're looking for something much lighter/easier, read the Edge chronicles. Children's books but the illustrations are beautiful and the fantasy world is so detailed and...like well…
  • I love diet coke, but we don't drink it at home so there I live off sugar-free squash (summer fruits and tropical are my favourites). I've recently started buying 2litre bottles of fizzy water to dilute it with, add ice and it's super refreshing and delicious, and only like 5 calories max.
