One of the issues with most scales is that the electrical impulse travels up one leg and down the other, using the readings from your lower body to estimate a total body fat percentage. I've tried playing twister on mine (one hand, one foot; other hand, other foot; attempted handstands etc.) but to no avail...…

Bump because it's an awesome resource

Chocolate has no place in the fridge. Room temperature ALL THE WAY  In response the the question: I savour a little taste to melt in my mouth but don't chomp down on more than a square or two. A square is maybe 35 calories? Easy to fit into a healthy wholesome day

I mix a 170g pot with 1 tbsp honey, a handful of frozen raspberries (they melt as you mix it) and 1 crumbled meringue nest. It is soooo good!

Sadly, I think this can probably be explained by gaining only fat but losing a combination of fat and lean muscle mass...

I haven't used shampoo in over a year. My hair's never looked better :D

Nothing is more beautiful than feeling confident in your own skin. Well done girl! You're looking great :D

You could make a frittata full of any veggies/seasonings you like and cut it into wedges. I like spinach, butternut squash, mozzarella with pine nuts on top. Yum!

I'm 27, and I'm starting a Physiotherapy degree in the UK in September. I must admit I'm kinda worried about how my healthy eating and exercise habits are going to have to take a backseat to my studies...

Thanks!

Sorry Sara! Here's the post again with an additional side and back pic:

Hi! Sorry for the low quality pictures. My phone is a bit behind the times... Unflexed Flexed (not that there's much of a difference!) 5'6", 111lbs. My scales say 15.3% which seems way too low, and the averaged calculations on the MFP spreadsheet gave me 20% based on measurements. Not sure I trust that either as my bone…

For a really cheap healthy marinade for chicken mix: zest and juice of half a lemon 2 tbsp honey 1 tbsp mustard 3 crushed garlic cloves lots of black pepper (for 2 chicken breasts) I use frozen chicken breasts so it's cheaper and defrost them in the marinade. It's soooo flavoursome and you end up with a really lovely sauce…

Definitely. I'm a pear and consider myself quite lucky as pears are easy to disguise. My upper body is tiny; I have a very narrow ribcage and spindly arms, but wider hips and I carry all my weight on my hips and thighs. If I wear wide leg trousers or little dresses that flare out at the hips I look miniscule, as all you…

170g pot of 0% fat greek yogurt with 1tbsp maple syrup to sweeten (could use honey), with a handful of raspberries and a crumbled meringue mixed it. 200 calories and a substantial protein hit too :)

I'm only on the beginner's calendar, but would love some POP Pilates friends! Any fellow beginners feel free to add me :D

A truffle a day keeps deprivation at bay :D

I don't think there's any chance I'll be doing them all at once! Probably as sets of 10 with rests, although I'll try to do all of the sets at once... 20 sets of 10 will keep me going for a while though!

Count me in! I've just started doing squats the past week anyway, I'm up to 30, past the initial soreness and ready for my first official challenge!

WOW! Did you cycle bulk/cut at all, or is that recomposition purely down to lifting?

This is one of my favourite breakfasts: Eggy bread made with one slice wholemeal and one egg mixed with a little milk, dry fried in a really hot pan. Top with a dollop of half-fat creme fraiche, a handful of fruit (I slice half a banana, and defrost a handful of frozen berries) and a drizzle of maple syrup (you could use…

I can do them on the wall no problem. I'm currently tackling push ups on my kitchen counter. When I can do 5 sets of 20, I'll progress to doing them on my window sill... then onto knee push ups on the bottom step, then knee push ups on the floor... and finally real push ups! Small steps! Here, this is what I'm following:…

I hate that sound! I used to have a cheap model that squeaked so loud, I'd only use it when the neighbours were out! I'm afraid I don't have any useful suggestions as I never could locate the source of the squeak, but could you not plug earphones into your TV so you can't hear the squeak anymore? Obviously everyone else's…

Thanks a lot Sara, that's really helpful

Great post, just what I've been looking for! I'm a complete beginner wanting to start SS or SL but wanting to have a go and get used to lifting at home with dumbells before committing to a gym membership (and making sure I can at least lift the empty bar...) My question is, what weight range should I be looking at buying…

Thanks!

Thanks for all your replies, there's been some great encouragement and advice here. I think I'm going to get Starting Strength, have a good read, find a used set of dumbells and also work on my push ups at home until I have access to the gym. Hopefully then I'll feel less intimidated by the idea of free weights for when I…

Thanks for the advice. I will have the option of a gym membership at a pretty decent rate once I start uni in September, but I'd like to be able to gain some strength before I have to work out in front of others. I've looked into Stronglifts and Starting Strength, but think I need a bit of work before even a beginner…
