  • I know what I do when the munchies strike. I find things that are have little or no calories and I fill up on them like cucumbers, pickles, tomatoes or sugar free popsicles at 15 calories, etc.
  • I buy products that can be repackaged in smaller amounts such as meat. I weight out 3 ounces and freeze it. It's hard to eat the same stuff over and over but then I think about the end results.
  • Great message. Thanks.
  • I agree with the throwing the pills in the trash. These sound a lot like the old Phenphen that several of my friends used and developed heart trouble from. Of course they got to take part in a class action suit but that's not my cup of tea. Too much caffeine gives me the shakes so I'm not sure how these pills would affect…
  • I note any exercise such as mowing the yard but I don't choose to add calories to my allotted amount. I've never seen anything on here about accumulating calories to use at the end of the week but I know from personal experience that sometimes if my weight gets "stuck" if I eat alot on one day I will begin to lose again. I…
  • Salads, muffins, dry them, relish with orange zest and juice for Thanksgiving. There's a million ways to use them. Good luck.
  • I'm having the same problem. Lost 100 pounds and then came the summer and travel, eating out and at other people's houses. All I can say is get stuff that is low in calories and munch away. I like to keep sugar free 15 calorie popcyles around and fat free yogurt but granted they don't give you the satisfaction for that…
  • I wouldn't advise it unless you're going to be very careful of what those 1000 are. And even then I would only do it for a very few days and then go up to about 1600 for a day. But be careful not to go into starvation mode. 1000 calories of lean meat, veggies and some fruit along with lots of water are of course not the…
  • Yes! and thank you for posting this. I was always teased in school about my weight and I was 5'5" at 12 and weighed 140. Now that I look back 140 seems amazing. I don't know if I'll ever get there but I am getting closer each day and I'm not going to let anyone stop me from my journey. At 5'7" 100 pounds are gone and…
  • I hope it's okay for me to post on here, I started at 289 pounds a year ago although I have been as high as 320. I am down 100 pounds now and want to lose another 25 and then I may set another goal. I want to congratulate the member who was able to walk past the gluten free items and not purchase them. I used Atkins a few…
  • We'll have a family gathering. Turkey probably but I'm sure there will be ham (I don't eat), and maybe venison, along with all the trimmings. I will just eat small bites of several things. The foods I will have to watch are the stuffing, deviled eggs and also cranberry sauce. These are ones that are weaknesses of mine. I…
  • Well I don't know what to say because I'm eating alot less calories than you. If I ate over 2000 calories a day I'm afraid I would gain all 100 pounds back and very quickly. I would first of all stop eating out, eating so much starch and fried food and eat some veggies. But it's just an idea. I ate out, ate alot and ate…
  • Don't take this the wrong way but you look like mother and daughter in these pictures. It amazes me how when we lose weight we usually look alot younger and definitely more happy. Most people look so sad in their before pictures. Congratulations! I know I'm much happier at 100 pounds lighter now.
  • Yes I could go for a White Russian sometimes. LOL
  • broccoli(or brussel sprouts) oroweat sandwich thins cottage cheese sugar free Popcycles(had to include these)
  • For the first time since I was very young, I feel in control and I'm happy when I look in the mirror. I am not going back. Yes it's a daily struggle sometimes to not but I am going to win. I have given away all of my clothes that are more than one size bigger than I am right now so I don't have a choice, do I? I am in the…
  • I was diagnosed with Type 2 about 5 years ago but after losing weight I at first cut back from three Glyberides a day to one about 6 months ago and with my doctors okay stopped taking any about 4 months ago. My sugar has been reading in the 80's and 90's since then but of course mine was never as high as your mom's. It…
  • Definitely salad but they will add their house dressing if you don't tell them to leave it off. It's an oil vinagrette. Maybe a little soup or a small entre. Try not to eat the pasta or heavy sauces loaded with calories, oil and salt. And remember you don't have to eat it all today-get a togo box. Have fun!
  • SW = 289 lbs. CW = 188 lbs. GW= 170 lbs. Height = 5' 7 " Would of course like to get to 150 but that's a dream which I may try for after I get to 170.
  • Hmmm...Well according to this if you're my age, 65, you should just pretty well stay home and wear moomoos. Well I have discovered that I like jeans again. Hadn't worn any in many years but now that's about all I do wear. Long ones, short ones and oh yes, skirts not too short but yes above my knees. Wasn't sure what they…
  • Measure what you eat and don't give up no matter what.
  • Can't figure out how to post pictures. I'll try later.
  • Well I still haven't gotten the hang of it.
  • Fantastic. My problem is I wouldn't let people take pictures of me before. You look great.
  • I suggest apples, pickles, fatfree yogurt, flavored waters, sandwich thins or bagel thins and thin sliced deli meats like Castle Wood meats from Sam's. 2 ounces only have between 60-90 calories and I use mustard. You can do alot of eating on 200-250 calories with these items. Also sugar free Popcycle popcycles only have 15…
  • Keeping track of food is a great way to lose. I've also tried about everything except surgery or prescription pills. I started with Metrical in high school and lost 25 pounds. Then I tried a dietician and lost 75 pounds along with going lacto vegetarian, then I tried Atkins and lost 40 pounds. Yes vegetarian and Atkins.…
  • I understand. I was so happy to get under 200 after being around and over 300 for several years. Congratulations. Job well done!
  • Just be careful with the vinegar thing. We had a lady when I was growing up who drank too much of it. She lost a huge amount of weight but got her metabolism messed up and got down to skin and bones and ate like a horse just to stay alive. I saw her eat huge amounts of food at the town buffet just to stay alive and she…
  • That's how I feel about my 16's. I tell people I haven't worn 16's since I was 16 but I really wore a little smaller then. Congratulations. Yes it's nice to get compliments from others but it more important how it makes you feel.
  • Great choices but as a person who used to go to the club years ago (disco crazy) I think some Donna Sommer or other dance music would be great. I used to love to dance to stuff like Juicy Fruit and Kool and the Gang or War. Yes I'm old but still love that stuff.
