Once your hormone levels are right you should be able to lose weight with diet and exercise. I just got my synthroid upped to 100 mcg 2 weeks ago and have already lost 4 lbs.

I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis close to a year ago. My Endocrinologist just upped my meds again. Maybe now i'll be able to lose more weight. He is concerned my thyroid might be getting bigger. Hope meds help. Thanks for starting this thread. :)

My mother-in-law gave me three new pairs of size six pants. She told me how great I was doing losing weight and thought I would fit into them soon. They were 4 sizes to small. I love how she both made me feel good and kept me going strong at the same time. Oh btw I can now fit into the pants although they are tight…

To keep your body running properly you need to eat a certain number of calories. MFP calculates based on the info you give them what your lowest calories should be if you want to lose weight. (Mine is 1200) If we go to far below our calories our bodies will go into starvation mode and our metabolism slow way down. I tried…

I wait about 20 minutes and then drink a protein shake. :)

It sounds like you are motivated to lose weight and get healthy. What ever the route you choose to start this journey at least you have started it. My husband was in the military for 20 years so I know how important passing PT is. You need to be more confident in yourself. Instead of saying, " dunno if I can do it" tell…

I tried not eating my exercise calories back and found that first I lost muscle, then I started gaining fat. I always eat my exercise calories now. I also eat sweets as long as I don't over do it and I figure them into my daily calories. If I don't allow myself the sweets I am craving once in a while I tend to slip in my…

A friend of mine and I started our weight lose journey together. I kept a home journal of everything I ate, she refused to keep one saying it would be to much work and stress. she lost 30 lbs from water retention the first month and has lost nothing else. I am down to 140 lbs and now can wear size 8 pants.

I always eat my exercise calories. If your supposed to eat 1200 a day and exercise 300 away then you need to eat those 300 back.

You need to let your body heal after exercising. That is why I only exercise 5 days a week. 1 day I like to relax with a heating pad. Of course I dont have extra calories to eat on my no work out days. My body feels better for the rest.

I have problems with both my knees. When either knee starts hurting I do lower impact exercises and or upper body strength work outs. For pain I use a heating pad and sometimes ice.

I never weigh myself during my monthly visit. I do however allow myself 1 candy bar that I make last throughout my period. I still exercise as usual. Just hang in there and you will do great.

I have IBS and am on a gluten free diet and I feel soooo much better than I did before. I found it hard to stick to at first and I cheated often. Now that I have found so many gluten free options I hardly even miss products made from wheat. I still will have a product made from wheat once in awhile but not often. I havent…

I found I have to wait 2-3 hours after taking my meds before I can eat anything. I found I feel better if I do. I wait 4 hours before taking my vitamins. My Dr said the vitamins affected the synthroid. I was told to avoid soy that it would counter the effect of the synthroid. As long as my DR has me on the right dose I lose…

Muscle doesn't weigh more than fat in the respect that a pound is a pound is a pound, so a pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat which also weighs the same as a pound of feathers. But the volume of these pounds are different. Muscle is more dense so it can weigh the same amount as fat but take up less space. So…
