  • OP, you don't have to cut out the foods you enjoy to lose weight...plug your numbers into MFP (go with a 1-1 1/2 lb per week loss), eat back a portion (if not all) of your exercise calories, log your food consistently, exercise regularly (a mix of cardio and weights), and plan for treats from time to time. Most important…
  • OP is an 18 year old girl. Let's take it down a notch and have some compassion, shall we? I'm not opposed to being direct, but assuming that this OP is full of excuses based on her very first post on the site is more than a little harsh.
  • Just had this one done two weeks ago. It's only my fourth one but is my largest and most awesome one to date!!
  • Just chiming in to agree with others...lower your weekly weight loss goal to give yourself a higher daily calorie goal. There is NO reason to torture yourself in the quest to lose weight. It really CAN be done in a way that you are not constantly hungry and reduced to bingeing each day. Feed your body on your terms, and…
  • I love my cottage cheese savory so a bit of Sriracha on top is a go-to for me. I also love cottage cheese on top of a baked potato with some salt and pepper.
  • So, I realized I asked the wrong question. What part of being fat is bad FOR ME knowing that all of my health markers are good?
  • But why? What would be the point in knowing that number? I'm healthy AND carry extra weight. Why do I need to know my BF%?
  • So, what if I told you that all of my most important health markers are well within the "good" ranges, I lift like a boss, crossfit several days a week, and carry at least 40 extra pounds for my height per BMI charts. What part of all of that is bad? I ask this because you would look at me, see that I am fat (and gross,…
  • You look AMAZE-BALLS, Jeannie!!!!
  • I stole this from a member of a group I belong to on Facebook and it cracked me up. This is the best description of Paleo dieting I have ever seen. If you think you can follow such arbitrary food rules and sustain that over the long haul, go for it. Me? I'm gonna eat what I want as long as it fits my calorie and macro…

  • Deadlift a Svelte Wildebeest. Squat a Fledgling Hippo. Bench a Young Male Puma. Press a Baby Zebra.
  • We tested 1RM on a bunch of stuff a few weeks back. Here's mine: Back Squat: 215 Press: 80 Deadlift: 245 Total: 540
  • I'm with boston...I would never consider the way you are managing your workouts to be cherry picking. My definition of cherry picking falls in line with his, as well. To me, cherry picking is about avoiding WODs that you would just rather not do for no other reason than you suck at 'X' (where X usually equals one of your…
  • If the ones that are blocked here at the office are even half as good as the ones that aren't, I'm gonna be crying with laughter at home!!
  • I stole this from a member of a group I belong to on Facebook and it cracked me up. This is the best description of Paleo dieting I have ever seen!!! "Just remember, plant oils are BAD because they're unsaturated fats, except for coconut oil and palm oil because they're saturated and that is GOOD. And butter and beef…

  • I won't pretend to know that I know what you should do, but it does sound like you are doing many of the things that you should be doing to help (no longer restricting calories, no rigid rules, allowing you favorites). That said, it may be time to talk to an ED counselor to get the help of a professional.
  • We just might have a winner here, folks!!
  • BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
  • Yesterday: Strength: Find your 1RM for clean Hit a new PR at 120#!! WOD: 12 min AMRAP: 8 back squats (135/105) 8 KB swings (70/55) Scaled to 85# and 25#...finished 7 rounds + 11 reps

  • Did a scaled version this morning (35# thrusters and burpees without any jumping as I am still looking out for my heel as it heals) and finished in 17:53. Would have taken me MUCH longer if I had put any weight on the bar!

  • Then good for CrossFit, good for the transgendered women competing, good for equality. I really don't get why so many people are hung up on this. At all. If the IOC and the NCAA can establish guidelines for transgendered athletes, there is no valid reason for CrossFit (or any other athletic organization) not to follow suit.
  • And I never cease to be amazed at the number of judgemental people up in this bish. Posting an *kitten* pic on a fitness site seems like a perfectly resonable way of showing one's progress towards a goal of sculpting a fine *kitten*.

  • And that is primarily a product of his greater testosterone levels. The NCAA has also looked at the issue of transgender athletes and have set guidlines that are similar but LESS stringent than the IOC guidelines: "The NCAA instituted somewhat less stringent guidelines in 2011. They do not require surgery, and they require…
  • Just food for thought on this... The International Olympic Committee has already considered the issue of transgendered athletes competing at the Olympics. They came to the opposite decision of CrossFit. If Chloie was an Olympic athlete, she would be competing with other women. Because she is a woman.
  • From the CNN.com article: "The lawsuit alleges that a CrossFit teammate of Jonsson's sent an anonymous e-mail to the games organizers asking about transgender athletes in the competition. CrossFit determined that competitors in the event had to compete in the gender of their birth."
