I'm experiencing the same thing. Except, I'm in bigger sizes where there is a much larger difference between each size, I'm purposefully losing slowly, and it's going to be way more than 2-3 weeks to wait for the next size! I have been in a size 16. I had a pair of "boyfriend" jeans from Old Navy that were more forgiving…

I have done the yo-yo thing numerous times and it took me a long time to figure out that "cheat day/meal" doesn't work for me. I've tried it all- the full on cheat day, the "cheat meal," and even having one 2000 calorie day per week (with the rest being 1200) so I could indulge but it was still controlled and counted.…

The last time I lost a significant amount of weight NOBODY said anything. It really got to me- I started second guessing that maybe I didn't actually look any different, etc. I wonder if they did notice, but felt it's no longer okay to comment on someone's body, even if making positive comments, or maybe they didn't want…

I've had more than one person tell me they admire my "confidence" and that they love my clothes- while also making comments about how they need to quit wearing all black (and typically, people who say this are much, much thinner than me). I know it's intended to be a compliment, but it's super backhanded.

The last time I lost a lot of weight, NOBODY said anything. Not a single peep. It was really discouraging and made me question if I actually looked any better, or if it was all in my head. I started getting lax because it seemed like apparently there was no difference in my appearance anyway. I take the blame for gaining…

I wondered if this was part of it for me too. I was thin as a child/teen/young adult. So I don't see myself as a "fat person" as much as someone who grew up overweight would, maybe? Yep, I'm recognizing that I'm sort of on the "cusp" of my weight becoming a real problem. Lately I've been of the mindset that I enjoy food…

This is what I'm working on right now, so it was nice to read this. Work is super challenging right now and I'm just having a really tough time managing it all. I also struggle with black and white thinking and believing that I'm either "on the wagon" (following my calorie goal religiously, hitting my step goals every day,…

It took me many times of doing the yo-yo diet thing to realize that "cheating" just does not work for me. I tried it several ways. Full cheat day was too much. Then I tried the cheat meal. Nope. Then I tried a 2000 calorie day (with the rest being 1200) so that it was an indulgence but controlled and counted. Nope. Getting…

IF and thinking about when to consume calories in general really helps me to stick to my calorie goals. I feel better when I eat this way. If you're "struggling to commit," it's probably not for you. For some people, it makes sticking to calorie goals easier. You may not be one of those people. I'm never hungry in the…

You can just eat back however many of the calories you want. You don't have to eat them all just because they're listed there. I know my fitbit overestimates so I don't eat all of the extra calories I'm given from that. In a typical day it will give me 200-350 extra and I use it more as a cushion if I go a little bit over;…

There is nothing wrong with eating later if you can make it fit into your calorie day. Plan a late night snack that fits into your day to take away the "guilt/bad" piece. I find that I stick to my calorie goals much easier if I have most of my calories in the evening. I've never liked breakfast, and at work I'm too…

Thanks for the input! I decided to order and see how I like it. I checked on how easy it is to cancel and it seems that people have no issues with that. The meals are a bit low calorie for me, because I do an IF sort of thing and I eat most of my calories in the evening. So just one 400-500 calorie meal for dinner won't…

Make the changes small. I don't really enjoy exercise either, but I got a fitbit and I can manage to make sure I'm taking some extra steps throughout the day. I definitely prefer the "comfort foods" as well. A compromise that was easier for me to make is to have my lunch be "really healthy" and my dinner be more foods that…

The biggest thing that helped me was changing my weight loss goal to 1 pound per week so I get more daily calories. It took me a long time to admit that 1200 was just never going to work for me. I could white knuckle it for a bit, but inevitably I'd fall off the wagon and regain the weight I lost plus some. 1 pound per…

I think you have to see what works for you as far as how accurate the exercise calories are- i.e. if you eat them all back, do you still lose as expected? A lot of people overestimate what they burn and underestimate what they eat, which can lead to issues if you regularly eat them all back. The only exercise I do is…

My mom is diabetic, so I've been drinking diet pop since childhood. Many years ago I did give it up for a few months just to see if it would have any impact on weight loss. Obviously it has no calories, but "they" are always saying it makes you crave more real sugar. I didn't find that to be true, and in fact it made…

When I was growing up my mom was very overweight. She really tried to control what I ate because she didn't want that to happen to me. I recognize that she had good intentions, but it was extremely damaging. I had a bit of baby fat when I was younger, but was probably still within a healthy weight range. I was NEVER even…

I don't weigh myself. I'm a serial yo-yo dieter and I like to tell myself I at least learn something from each time. Summer before last, I felt like I had a lot of it figured out and was doing really well. I set my goal to lose 1 pound per week, and with getting more calories per day, no longer felt like I was white…

I had the same experience this past year, and was equally frustrated. I too wondered if people did notice and thought it was not PC to mention it anymore, as I have seen some stuff about that on social media (don't mention weight loss, because it may not be healthy, don't comment on someone's body, even if you think it's a…

I've tried it both ways. Once, I was really careful with logging and sticking to my goal, and I lost a pound. You'd think I'd be pleased, but really I wasn't. I felt like I'd been deprived and it wasn't a "real vacation" because I was still "working" on weight loss. After that, I take breaks on vacations. That doesn't have…

I have PCOS and have always been able to lose with a calorie deficit. I have never done anything specific as far as restricting foods. I've heard a lot about low carb being good for PCOS, but I love carbs and I'd never stick to that. Get a food scale and make sure you are being 100% honest with your logging. If you're…

I've always been a slow eater. In fact, I sometimes have to zap my food in the microwave for about 30 seconds halfway through a meal because it's gotten cold while I take forever to eat it!

I figured maybe it wasn't that it was giving me more calories for doing the same walk earlier in the day, but that perhaps it thought I was burning more throughout the day if I started earlier. Like I said, this is a trend I've noticed for years and years. And again, distance doesn't seem to matter. On Thursday of this…

As long as you're losing as expected, then you're doing everything right. I'm all for eating exercise calories back, but I feel that my fitbit drastically overestimates. I'm already at "lightly active" and depending on how I got the steps that day, I sometimes get over a 400 calorie positive adjustment just for getting my…

It looks like fitbit is counting my intentional walks as "exercise." However, since my heart rate doesn't typically reach above 120 bpm on those, it's not counting "zone minutes." When I look back at this past week, I have very little "exercise" recorded by fitbit, yet the calorie burn is still much higher. I wonder if…

I always log the night before, if not earlier. Sometimes I'll log several days in advance. If the day of, I find myself really craving something different, I change my log BEFORE I eat, to make sure I can fit it into my day and/or plan whatever other changes I need to make it work. I'm surprised so many people eat and then…

There is barely any difference between the distance fitbit calculates for the days. Monday I had 4.08 miles, Tuesday 4.12, Wednesday 4.14. Last week, working from home, 4.03 Monday, 4.14 Tuesday, 4.16 Wednesday. I do have the negative adjustments enabled. Back when I was working in person all of the time, I noted that I…

There is nothing magical about IF. Some people find it an easier way to stick to their calorie limit. I'm one of those people. I've never been a morning person and was making myself eat breakfast because I thought it was "healthy." It was very freeing to realize I didn't need to eat in the morning. A few times per year,…

I hated all of the sparkling water I tried until Waterloo. It's not going to have the flavor that pop does, obviously, but it's got a lot more flavor than others I've tried, and it's still 0 calories. I also found it to be a bit of an acquired taste. After drinking Waterloo for awhile I now really like most other sparkling…

You need to stop "forgetting" to pack a lunch. Pack it the night before, always. Don't go to bed until it's done. If you truly can't remember to do that, set an alarm reminder on your phone. Put your car keys on top of the lunch so that there is no way you'll forget it in the morning.
