  • I feel so weak reading this thread :p I've not done a one rep max, but in doing NROL4W, my favs are the deadlift and the squats. In the deadlift I'm at 155 x 8 and the squat I am at 150 x 8 It's something.
  • Rather, you've figured out that your argument is just plain wrong. Please do supply is with the titles so that we can check them out and verify if what you've read is real research or nonsense to convince someone to juice instead of relying on the mechanisms of the well-evolved body.
  • Here's a quote from Mens Health on it "Taurine What is it?: One of the most abundant amino acids in your brain, where it can act as a neurotransmitter—a chemical messenger that allows your cells to communicate with one another. You'll find anywhere from 20 mg to 2,000 mg of taurine in most 16-ounce energy drinks. Does it…
  • Wheres the face with the eyebrow being raised? I'd like to see some of these "studies" you've read so much about because basically what you are saying is that the human body doesn't function as well as a juicing machine. Sorry lady, but our bodies are meant to break down and extract nutrients from our foods. Juicing…
  • Just a heads up, some recent research came out that suggests Taurine may actually be a downer instead of a stimulant. Not sure where I put the link but maybe you could google it.
  • Finished Stage 2 :) I made some mods, I did a reg deadlift because of how short I am, and did squats instead of the push press which I was NOT comfortable doing. Workout A Squat: 135 to 150 Step-up: 25 to 25 in both hands (lol. The step is 2 ft off the ground) Dumbbell One-Point Row: 25 to 30 in both hands Static Lunge…

  • Oh, those pizza ones sound good!
  • Workout 4B tomorrow :) This stage seems so short. Only 4 A's and 4 B's for a total of 8, right? I guess Stage 1 just got us used to everything with there being 16 workouts. I'm reading this right, correct?

  • I know you can order Quest online, is there anywhere that carries them in person?
  • Starting weight (July 16): 183 1st week weight (July 23): 181 2nd week weight (July 30): 3rd week weight (August 6): 4th week weight (August 13): 5th week weight (August 20): 6th week weight (August 27): Total Weight lost 2 It's that 'time' and all. I expect a huge loss between now and the 30th because after tomorrow, I am…
  • Haven't been weighing myself because of that time and such, bloated. But I weighed today anyway just so I didn't skip a week. Working tomorrow at the gym and then the rest of this week is my rest week. I expect a lot of water weight to drop :) July 1st 181.2 July 8th Target 179.4 Actual 188 July 15th Target 177.6 July 22nd…
  • Reporting in. Tried this. DEF HELPED. I was able to move up to the next weight and felt it in my sides more. I held on better also.

  • I used to. That was before New Rules of Lifting for Women and water retention. I drop weight on rest weeks but otherwise, the scale bounces around too much for me. I DO have on my calendar what I'd like to be at the end of the month, where the rest weeks are, which is around a 2 lbs a month loss, but who knows if it'll…
  • Pretty sure it was just a worm. People get them like animals do. They do look like maggots.
  • When someone decides to talk to you for 20 minutes in the bathroom?! I hate going in there because everyone expects you to talk o.O But I do think it's creepy when you walk in and someone is doing #2 and they just sit there, making NO sound, until you leave. You know they are listening to you. And jeez women, do you NOT…
  • Hmm. I may try doing it like this guy. That's the machine I use. I def feel it though. I tried the next weight up but I was already dead from the rest of the workout.

  • Ok, 22.5 is the exact weight I'm on. I'm at 155 for Deads and 145 for Squats so 22.5 seemed really odd. But thanks, that makes me feel better.

  • I use the machine that has a billion diff attachments and it also has adjustable height. I go side to side and definitely feel it, but I can barely do 20 lbs. 20 lbs seems low to me compared to my weights elsewhere. My core must suck :p

  • You guys that are doing the woodchop with such heavy weights, are you guys using a machine or dumbbells?

  • Geneticist/Research specialist/Lab manager :p
  • Yep, measure my foods like a fiend. I may change the setting in mfp to have it calculate everything but it seems pretty close to the book. My garbs come from good foods, brown rice or sweet potatoes, veggies and whole grains. I fell I hit all that spot on. The problem is I haven't lost inches. Or bf which unless I get…
  • Ive got all of that down except MFP has me set to lose a half pound a week. Does having it set at .7 make you feel good? As in you don't feel too tired or anything and your workouts aren't suffering? I don't think it'd be a huge difference than what I have now, just curious is all. My macros have been 40/30/30 for months…
  • I have all of the consoles, but prefer PS3 the most. I'm currently working on Skyrim (trying to get all the side quests) and finishing up Darksiders. Demons Souls has thrown me for a loop.
  • To answer questions, here goes. I am 5 ft 1. I get plenties of protein and plenties of water. I aim for the macros the book has set. Occasionally I go over on carbs, maybe once a month, but otherwise I'm pretty spot on. I ate at maintenance for roughly 3 weeks during Stage 1 and then aimed for what the book had set. I…
  • Gonna rock it! Starting weight (July 16): 183 1st week weight (July 23): 2nd week weight (July 30): 3rd week weight (August 6): 4th week weight (August 13): 5th week weight (August 20): 6th week weight (August 27): Total Weight lost 0
  • July 1st 181.2 July 8th Target 179.4 Actual 188 Saaaaaalt! Had pizza and drinks this weekend. July 15th Target 177.6 Actual 183 Helped my sis move, so we ate taco bell and little caesars (though I am way within cal intake) and the sodium has been outrageous. July 22nd Target 175.9 July 29th Target 174.1
  • Mixed grip has helped me take strides. I'm at 150 on the deadlift and the mixed grip helps me hold it for the whole set.
  • My gorgeous eyes and this to die for bum, especially in cheeky undies. I've got the curves going for me :)
  • We could go halfsies!
