while not exactly homemade (at least not by you) the Papa Murphy's DeLite pizzas are pretty yummy and good for you. Their slices hover about 200 calories each, which is Way lower than most places and the family size is quite large. If you have one near you - definalty work checking out for those rushed nights where you…

Holy Boats!! What a great first time!! I just did my first as well - I got 2:40:37 so I beat my goal. I also had runners high for about a week. Next step - 2nd half in August!! It is so much warmer now though so training is more challenging...but who doesn't like a challenge?!

Thanks for this! I am currently training for my first half as well (June 23...so close!) and it was great to hear some tounge in cheek advice! Congrats on your first run!! I am hoping to finish around the same time...we shall see!! Also - I know how you feel about squirrels - some of them really are out to get me....eek!

I know how you feel. I am signed up for my first and second haf marathons ever! (in June and August) and have been training for 11 weeks. I get nervous when I think about the distance and compare it to what I have yet to "master" in the next 6 weeks (yikes!). But I know for me, at least, after I hit a new…

Congrats! And thanks for the pointers - I am currently training for my first and second half marathons (June and August) and don't have anyone to run along side me (but do know people who are running it as well). I will have to look into this! : )

Just listen to your body. Run when you can, walk when you need to. Don't push yourself past the point of exhaustion - take walk breaks as often as you need. Don't push too hard to get training in before hand either - you don't want to strain anything before the big day!! Try and run across the finish line though - that is…

Taste of Home makes some "Diet Comfort Food" cookbooks - they are pretty great. They break it down by different types of meal (breakfast, lunch ,dinner, dessert, etc) and then also by number of calories you want to build a meal around (100-250, 250-250, etc). I really enjoy them. Checked one out at the public library on a…

Nice work!! I just got into running myself (first half marathon in June!! eek!) I can't do a tread mill and when I do...I DEF don't do 10 minute miles!! Keep up the great work! So glad you had the courage to just go out there and do it!!

As a new-er runner - Bump! : )
Running 5 days a week, circuit training twice a week, one day of full body HIT, and on off days I walked on an incline. I mostly stayed around 1200 calories, without eating back exercise calories... But it really just depended on how I felt that day. I even had some cheat days. :)
Can you provide a little…

I am by no means am expert but I would raise your intake. I weigh 138ish and am currently at about 1300 and I have considered taking that us a little as well. 1200 just was NOT cutting it...I was always hungry and didn't feel good cause of it. So, that is just my opinion. Good luck losing weight!! Keep it up. Exersice…
