The site can take your weight into consideration, but not your overall heath and fit levels. Your HRM beats with your heart and can tell how much your blood is pumping and thus how how many calories you're burning. Good luck!

Absolutely your HRM, especially if you have a chest strap. Make sure it is programmed correctly with your info, weight, height, etc., and you should be dead on.

Good luck hon. Once you start and you lose like 5 or 10 lbs it is easy to keep going. You look forward to those weigh-ins to see how much progress you've made. I have always found the easiest way to start strength training is to pick three exercises or machines- One arm, one leg, one core, and then rotate 3 sets doing about 12 reps of each exercise. But definitely talk to your gym, or do one session with a personal trainer to get you started.

If you are trying to make a lifestyle change, there will always be events, restaurants, and invites.
