  • I'd like to join. Currently trying to take off the weight I gained due to my Hashimoto's Disease and this would be a great way to stay motivated.
  • I am totally into lifting but want a better way of crating a routine/regimen for myself. can you tell me more about Body Beast?
  • Except for those who are on it for medical reasons, what's wrong with using condoms? But seriously it's your personal choice. At the end of the day everyone's bodies reacts differently to BC. You determine with your doctor what is right for you.
  • Though I hate working out during my period, I at least try to get some walking in. It actually helps with cramping too.
  • My goal is to get back on track. get back to my workouts at least 3 days a week and stay on track with my eating.
  • Actually you set it up exactly as I do. :-)
  • Sadly, a few things....when I was younger, I was an athlete and I was told I looked to manly (I was super muscular as a gymnast) and now I'm heavy and I'm constantly being called fat and "big girl" by family and strangers on the street. My father tried to give me some ephedra type diet drug for Christmas. Then because I…
  • This is a great way to look at it and go about it.
  • Anomalia is right. You need to show pics in order to get better feedback. But one thing though with weight gain or weight loss, you must do it in a healthy manner. Don't go eating junk food and crazy stuff to gain weight, eat denser foods but make sure they're rich in nutrients. Have you ever tried Nutriment or Ensure?…
  • there was some movement this week....i lost a pound! May not sound like much but super excited.
  • I do have to admit I've become obsessive. But as I'm answering everyone's responses, I'm thinking I'm hoping to some how morph my shape into something it is not. I'm making myself unhappy because I'm refusing to be more accepting of myself. :indifferent:
  • Thanks for the well wishes. I've reintroduced weight training after a few weeks of cardio only workouts to build stamina. And though I'm way more toned, scale doesn't move much. I rarely eat processed foods and load up on veggies and protein. When I do do carbs, it's like brown rice or soba noodles. I'm gluten sensitive so…
  • In the past it didn't but recently it started to. It's becoming hard to look at a number over 200 pounds. But I know it's just a number and that the overall picture should be more important. But my heart wishes I could have both.
  • If the person is a double J, their boobs would weight a lot more than 5 pounds. They would be closer to almost 40 pounds. Check out this article from MSNBC that breaks down the weight of breasts. When I got my mammogram the nurse gestimated my D cups were in the neighborhood of 20 pounds (which is in line with what the…
  • just outside of New York City!
  • The stopped doing the weight on the license thing in NY a while back (thank God). LOL
  • Sometimes people aren't ready to share that much of themselves yet. Even in our tickers some of us (myself included) hide a bit from the world. I wouldn't be so quick to assume that it is an accountability issue. It might be a case of needing to become a little more comfortable with themselves and MFP in general. Some have…
  • Add me! I'm 33 and am trying to lose my first 30.
  • I actually changed gyms twice because of my pet peeves. I'm a former athlete and really go to the gym to workout. I stopped going to Lucille Roberts because of the women who liked to flirt with the male personal trainers and instructors and the ones who thought the weight machines were the company water cooler and stood…
  • I recently started using them with my meals. They're an excellent source of fiber, omega3s and more. And then today Dr. Oz was talking about them being the ultimate super food. Check out this recipe he had for Cranberry muffins made with chia and agave!…
  • I regularly get "interesting" comments from my father. Even when i was smaller and a competitive gymnast he had something to say about my weight. I am a stockier stronger build (thing Shawn Johnson, the American gymnast) so I was always a little bigger than others on my team. Now as an adult, he keeps mentioning…
  • Twice in one day some one said that to me. The worst time of it happened when i was flying back home from a business trip and the TSA agent pulled me out of line and said she couldn't let me go through the body scanner because I was pregnant. :-(
  • I'm a writer. What are you looking to do?
  • Flour or gluten? Because rice isn't a flour product. I am gluten sensitive and have cut out almost all the wheat/gluten based foods in my diet. Why don't you try switching from white flour to whole wheat or maybe brown rice based products first.
  • Just discovered CrossFit today while watching ESPN at the gym. Definitely a future fitness goal of mine.
  • They're also great for lunch during the week...just grab and go!
  • I use fitness buff, Tosca Reno's list for her Eat Clean Diet. You can print it out and take it with you. You don't have to get everything on the list at one time, but can use it as a general guidance to find healthy foods and most of it can create 2 weeks worth of food in one run. Most of my bills are under $100 and i get…
  • I do everyday first thing in the morning.
  • New York City Metro Area, NY, USA Happy New Year!
  • Living in a pedestrian friendly area (NYC Metro) I'm lucky that I can opt to walk everywhere. Yesterday I ended up walking 5 miles as i went back and forth across midtown. I even do little challenges like how fast can i get from the west side back to Grand Central to catch my train home. When I'm home running errands...I…
