I recently have been using a quarter of a banana (keep them chopped in quarters in my freezer) and even just that little bit was great!

Me too!!! I am now at a place where I can have a very special treat now and again (e.g. birthday cake) and I find having a couple of squares of 85% chocolate a day help with the cravings. LCHF has helped me tremendously in maintaining my weight. It really is an eye-opener how much sugar is in EVERYTHING.

Chocolate chip cookie dough microwaved 12 seconds or baked in oven for a few minutes. #noguiltpleasure

I get up each weekday at 4:45am to squeeze in some kind of activity....2 days a week it's strength training at the gym...other times it's just a 30-minute walk...It's the *only* time I know I will "get it done"...otherwise I will find every excuse in the book! Another suggestion...maybe don't worry about "working out" at…

You have to try zucchini noodles - get a spiralizer! I used to eat spaghetti squash and shiritaki noodles but nothing beats zucchini:) (well, except "real" pasta which I rarely eat anymore! LOL)

Doug - I totally get it...I also get in these 'binge' type cycles, where I am so "good" for a while and then one or two things "trigger" a terrible string of days...then trying to get back "in control" is so hard....especially at this time of year... Building habits is huge...I'm usually good at logging food but have…

*Exact* same.

Bathtub badger - consider doing some lifting as 115Everest suggests! This will dramatically change your body shape. I didn't start lifting until my mid-30's. What I wouldn't give to go back to my 20's and lift weights! Message me for more info - and CONGRATS!!!

First pic is my first pregnancy at due date: 210 lbs. Four years later, second pregnancy at due date: 187lbs Final two pics are about 2 years later after finally "getting it" - strength training and eating "more" to weigh less. 130 lbs. Whoops, pics aren't showing up...back in a flash

Oh wow, do not drink it on its own!!! Most are horrendous that way!!! My favourite is the chocolate whey protein at Costco (leanfit?), 1 Tbsp. cocoa powder, handful spinach, 3 ice cubes and blended in the magic bullet. Sometimes I add greek yogurt, PB2 or a banana. I LOVE my protein shake in the morning - look forward to…

I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very inspiring! You rock!!!

My guilty pleasure: A chocolate chip cookie dough quest bar with 5 chocolate chips on top - melt for 7 seconds in microwave. You won't believe it's a "protein bar"...unbelievable!!!

One of my fave's is "tex mex" :use fresh salsa as the dressing and add chicken breast, black beans, light shredded cheese, corn, a few tortilla chips crunched up, a bit of sour cream, sometimes a bit of avocado...a perfect big lunch or dinner!!!

I look forward to being a fly on the wall for this experiment! Good luck!:)

Fairdra - such an easy way to get a serving of veggies in right away! And you can't even taste the spinach!

Have you had your body fat measured? I am at about 20% and still have a "belly"...even though I've been lifting heavier and I'm very pleased with the results everywhere else! For me, I think it's that I have 3 kids, age (42) and genetics. Some women carry any extra fat on their hips. For me, definitely the belly. Am…

Amazing video! Thanks for sharing!

I just made salmon tonight - delish!!! I marinated salmon with hoisin sauce, orange juice concentrate, soy sauce, ginger, and grated orange peel. Broiled 4 inches from element for 4 minutes per side, brushing with marinade. The kids rated it a 10/10!!!

Is your goal to lose weight? If so, then no need to feel guilty about not getting to the gym. 80% is what you put into your mouth...you can only stretch yourself so much... If you are wanting to be more "fit" then think about squeezing it in before the day starts. I'm at my gym 3x\week at 5:30am. I am a busy full time…

I LOVE my fitbit ONE. Have had it for two years and wear it faithfully. I didn't really have much weight to lose, but I was interested in getting more active throughout the day. Since I got it, the following people in my family have one: mom, dad, brother, sister, sister-in-law (who recently lost 75 pounds!), 2 nephews, 1…

Just chiming in to say 1) Heybales knows what he's talking about and 2) you look AMAZING for almost 40! :)

Wow. Just wow. At my local Y there is every shape, size, age...and I can honestly say that if I see someone who is overweight working out I just wanna say to them, "Way to go! Keep it up!" So I'm sure there were others there thinking the same thing. Good for you!!!!!!!!!!!! Use this experience to fire you up and kick…

I have 3 off the top of my head that are like second nature now... 1. Workout first thing in the morning. (4x/week) 2. Adding a handful of spinach to my protein shake every morning. 3. Wearing my fitbit and getting 10,000 steps a day minimum. PS. 6 months diet pop free!
-
Friend me if you like - you've got to eat enough to fuel your body! 1200 is too low...I set mine to 1200 and then aim for 1726. Usually with the fitbit sync, I'm still under once it adds my activity level.

Do you use fresh salsa or jarred? Or does it matter? Also, do you drain the can of diced tomatoes? I'm assuming no since people posted the recipe needs a bit more liquid... Thanks for paying it forward btw and congrats on your 365!

That's nice to hear:) I am usually the only female at 5:30am at the local Y....at least it's not too busy!

[/quote] I gave up soda in 2005 just to prove that I could. I don't drink it now because I just don't like it (and because I don't like the taste of artificial sweeteners and I sometimes struggle to hit my protein and fat target while staying under my calories, at least when cutting). Do it just to prove that you…

I am on month 6 of giving up diet pop...I was "addicted" Diet Dr. Pepper for years. 3 cans a day easy. I have honestly never bought the idea that aspartame is evil. Which is why I found it so hard to give up. My biggest issue is that I felt it was controlling ME...I couldn't "go without" one...I would always buy one, or…

Are you eating enough on "normal" days? I used to eat less than 1200 calories a day, and then totally binge on weekends because I felt so deprived. It wasn't until I started eating at LEAST 1700 a day, and learning about macronutrients (protein!!!) that my binges are much less and involved much less food!!!
