My trainer told me the same thing last year. Use Whey right after a work out as our muscles are at there optum time to absorb whey and then use casein later in the day. If you find a good casein powder that you like let me know. The one I use is hard to get down but works great in my baking items that I don't use flour in.

Go see a physical therapist - they can move and feel if there is anything not in place. They do amazing stuff and know exactly what stretches may be needed if it not anything else but a muscle that is disturbed. My sciatic nerves on both side down my butt checks and into my hamstrings and quads have flared up 2 separate…

I will be 40 this year.....yikes! I have only been working out for 2 years where I can say I am dedicated and have seen my body change and gotten better physically. Before that - let's say walking, biking and mowing the lawn was a workout for me. I couldn't do 1/4 of what I do today and survive during work hours - back…

Thank you for all responses so far and giving me ideas (books and things to research) and things to think about. A little more that might help too - I do bootcamp 2/3 times a week with a personal trainer - we do anything from battle ropes, squats, lunges, & weighted squats/lunges, burpees, sprints, crab crawls, planks,…

I had gastric bypass 7 years ago. I too have gained 40 lbs lost 30 and then back up the 30 now down 30 again. Still have those 10 lbs that are stubborn and would like another 10 off to get to 150. If anyone wants to be friends and learn how we can get down again, please friend me.

Yes it is mental. For me the opposite of you - treadmills boring takes me longer to run a mile than when running on the road. I hate treadmill running but don't have a choice during winter and have icy roads but got to keep up my conditioning for spring runs.

Depending on what is considered a habit. For me to turn away from the unhealthy stuff and grab something more nutritious to fuel my body - took me 8 months. Don't worry I still indulge in goodies every now and then, but that is what it is now and then and I am back to my habit. I prefer a banana with peanut butter frozen…

lowfat cream cheese (16 oz, 1 pkt of chili seasoning, 2 tablespoons of salsa - mix together and form a cheese ball. optional to roll ball in shredded cheese and nuts - this goes over big in my family and I serve with a variety of crackers as not everyone eats the boring plain ones that i do.
