I've done 2 halfs, currently training for my third in November and then a full in feb. The half will be the Savannah Rock and Roll and the marathon will be 26.2 with Donna in Jacksonville. All the proceeds go to breast cancer research. For my halfs I use the Hal Higdon training method and for my full I will use the Jeff…

Completely agree! I've been at a plateau as well for a while but I did see a difference once I upped my calories. Then, i started to zig zag as well. Check out this website: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

I see both points that each of these poster's are trying to make. You can weigh in everday, just make sure you have ONE day that is your official weigh in day and record it. That way you can keep more track of what you are losing each week by looking at what you weigh on the official days.

You've lost 23 pounds, that's something to be proud of! I'm right there with you though on wanting to see more results. I have only 6 pounds left to lose and they are just at stubborn as I am! I have to work for each and every pound. I can't be the person that eats Mickey D's, stay under calories, and still lose weight. I…

Make sure you are NET eating at least 1200 calories. I would also suggest eating almost all of your exercise calories back too. You might see the scale go up initially, but it should go back down! Hope this helps!

almonds or pb are good too :)

bump! i have the same problem!

I have to disagree with you. While I can't say that I personally know and understand what it is like to be fat, but how did she win? What I get from your post, is that she won because she was fat. So is that to say that someone who is too large to be in a coach seat on an airplane automatically gets upgraded to first class…

I'm stuck at 121 as well and am trying to get to 115! Try zig zagging your calories :)

It's heaven.

Make sure at the end of the day you have a NET of 1200 calories. That means that you should eat your exercise calories.

I agree with her! Also, tell your mom when your going, how long you'll be there, and when you'll be back. That should help with some of her anxiety and worries about you going running. When I run on campus, I always make sure someone knows where I am going. Good luck!

You can EASILY do a 5k! I promise! Just start slow and walk when you need to. Just keep it at a pace where you feel comfortable and every day you run, try and run a little farther. I promise you can do this! My bet is that if you stay dedicated, you can do one this fall/winter! Feel free to add me if you would like!…

I'm in GA as well and from HOTLANTA. I spent a month in PA and when I got off the plane in ATL I about died from the shock of the humidity! I'm waiting until about 8 to go run, it should be like 83. I feel ya though!

You'll love it here! Here are some of my tips: - drink at least 8 glasses of water every day - eat lots of fruits, veggies, and lean meats - filling snacks such as apple and pb, almonds - exercise - look at it as a lifetsyle change and not just dieting! You want to make sure you are putting the right fuel for your body -…

HI! Congrats on running! It is very high impact so your body will feel it. I've completed 2 half marathons, about to do my third, and a full in Feb. Here's my advice: - REST when you are sore (if you really want to work out, do something low impact) - SHOES can make a HUGE difference... i'm partial to asics  -…
