I can't say anything about ellipticals but I love my treadmill. It has a built-in fan and speakers so I can plug in an mp3/iphone/ipod. The other thing is, if I don't feel like walk/jog/running, I can do inclines. Just watch the weight requirements. Many have a max of 250-260 lbs. If you need one to support a bigger…

I so hear you! I just came off a 2.5 month plateau. I went through all the same things you did. What ended up working for me was ditching the treadmill for a week (I did the 30 Day Shred instead) and added Boost with Protein. After 7 days I went back to the treadmill and poof! I finally dropped! It took a lot of…

Many people report going down a size doing the 30 Day Shred. Going that route your building muscle which takes less space than fat so the measurements go down. I have no way of equating that to weight though since most people report not going far down on the scale. Personally, I went down a dress size in November…

Thinsations. Choco-covered pretzels, yogurt covered pretzels, choco chip cookies, choco cookies, cheesecake bar etc... They're only 100 cals a bag.

Every morning and I record it if it goes down or if I'm tracking for a particular reason (plateau). It's like a soap opera... Gotta see what happens the next morning! ;)

I can't say that I can equate lbs with inches. For instance, if you do weight training you'll lose inches but not so many lbs (since muscle takes less space than fat). My opinion would be to follow your measurements rather than the scale especially if you need to be a 32" waist to fit into your dress. Congrats and good…

You're going to get a lot of responses like you're eating too much, you're eating too little, increase your workout time, change intensity, change exercises completely, zig-zag your calories, add protein, take a few days off etc... Unfortunately, plateau's like losing weight itself, doesn't have a standard answer. I just…

I know up here in Canada, the Sears catalog has a section on how/where to measure too. I don't know if you have something similar in your neck of the woods. Just a thought... Thanks for the chuckle! ;)

You look AMAZING!

I have an OCD when it comes to the scale... Every single day. It's kind of like a soap opera! ;)

I've done this in the past thinking I would lose weight but it backfired and I ended up gaining (I wasn't on a serious weight loss plan at the time). I still kept them though and now I can fit into all of them! I still buy the odd item a size too small when it's super cheap. I find it's awesome motivation!

I started the 30DS in Jan as part of a strategy to get off a plateau that ended up parking it's keester for 2.5 months. 30DS is awesome and I could NOT agree with you more. It's hard to be so patient though!

I remember when I lost my first 10lbs. I was whining to my boyfriend "ONLY 10lbs." He said "How would you feel if you GAINED that 10lbs?" It really put things in perspective. ;)

I know 2 women who have also had them (one of them was 6lbs and the other was the size of a 4 month fetus). They both had to have hysterectomies but one friend who also had it, had a new type of procedure. Look here for the latest on treatment methods if you're interested:…

LOL I weigh-in every morning! I've been doing it long enough to know when my highs and lows are going to be so it doesn't matter if the scale goes up a few pounds. Just getting off a 2.5 month plateau but if I hadn't weighed myself this morning, I never would have known! ;)
-
Wow! Sounds like you're well on your way! Keep going!

There have been some wicked results from a Jillian Michael's workout video called "30 Day Shred". There's a lot of success stories/pics posted and there's groups for it too. The video is available in many stores as well as on iTunes and various cable on-demand channels. If you want planks then by God, Jillian will give…

Update: I missed my treadmill last night so I "indulged" and did my workout for 30 minutes with no Shred last night. Oh dear God! The bloody scale finally went down a WHOLE pound this morning! <happy dance!>

Oh wow! I so feel for you. I'm excited to be hitting onederland too and the weight loss flat-lined near the beginning of December. Still working at it. Tried so many things! I know how hard it is to keep up the work but hang in there!!! You're not alone!
-
Almost 2.5 months here! Tried everything... Won't even go through the list. The latest is upping protein... Next will be beating the scale senseless! :) Hang in there folks!
-
I started off at exactly the same weight and I'm 5'8. Down to 217. Everyone's pics look soooooooooooooooooooooo awesome! Way to go everyone!

Absolutely! I'm on the plateau from hell right now (since early December). I was doing the treadmill for 15-20 minutes, 6x week (changed from HIIT type to inclines) and then doing Level 1 of the 30 Day Shred right after for 15 times. Nothing budged so I dropped the treadmill and went on to Level 2 of the Shred. I'm trying…

There were a lot of people who posted that they were on a plateau and were going to apply the different pieces of advice in the article. Does anyone have any follow-up? Did you apply it? How soon after did you notice results and what did you do?

I tried the inclines for a good week back in January for 30 minutes/6x week. I found the incline higher than 3.5 really bothered my knees. It did nothing on the scales for me. I've since ditched my beloved treadmill and am solely doing the 30 Day Shred. (I did 15-20 minutes on the treadmill before doing the Shred each…
