Walmart. Supreme 90. It's a rebranded P90X type of workout what only costs $20. It will work as well as any of them if you stick to it and complete the program without skipping workouts. IMO most workout programs will work sufficiently if you STICK to them. You may also be able to find some if the expensive workout vids at…

The idea is that ALL calorie counting calculators are designed to give you a starting point to which you will adjust after a few weeks to acheive your goals. If 1500 doesn't yield weight loss for example, then drop your calories 10% and see how that goes for a couple weeks. Just have to get dialed in on your personal…

I workout at 3am 4 days a week, I eat if I'm hungry afterwards, but if not, I don't. Best not to overthink it. just make sure you are eating enough calories to accomodate your muscle growth if that's your goal, sometime within 12-24 hours post workout. Eating to a schedule is not only a PITA, but it's unnecessary. Once you…

FOr me, Protein shakes are merely a supplement to my protein intake. I find the cheapest one that isn't chock full of sugar or unnecessary crap and go with that. I too like the GNC protein. I also like Optimum Nutrition Gold standard and the Body Fortress at Walmart is OK. I'd find the cheapest one that tastes good to you.…

Even after losing 100 pounds 2 years ago, I still have some loose skin, but it does indeed take a LONG time. never give up, and give it time. Patience and persistence are the hardest things about losing weight, never give up.

As long as you are within your daily calorie goals, it will not affect your weight. Sugar is not evil unless your diabetic and fat, especially healthy fats are essential. Theoretically you can eat all fat and sugar as long as you are not exceeding your calorie allotment, granted that wouldn't be particularly healthy. LOL.…

The interesting thing that alot of women are afraid of is gaining muscle while lifting heavy weights. This shouldn't be a concern. You are not likely to "bulk up" if you are eating in a calorie maintenance or deficit. Muscle gains in size usually come from eating excess calories above maintenance. As well, don't fear the…

Do the resistance training every other day ( probably 3 days per week) and some form of cardio on off days if your trying to drop weight. Depending on the intensity of the resistance training, muscle needs a day or two to repair which is where the increase in strength occurs. I lift heavy, on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday…

unless you have to have a super accurate BF measurement, the online calculators get you in the right ball park. Accumeasure calipers are probably better and about $8-10. I wouldn't go by ANY electronic bioelectric impedance devices like those in bathroom scales. There are notorious for false readings as body fluid among…

Consider it a rest day/ week. It's not the end of the world. In fact a rest week here and there can stimulate a better response to exercise when you come back. Just get back to it once you'r feeling better.

From day one, I've worked ou at home in my living room with either weights or DVD's, mostly P90X. My weights consist of plates and a barbell. I do not own a bench, I made one out of a shop stool and a 1x12 board laid between the stool and my sofa. I just don't have room for a bench. Everything I use sits in the corner. I…

Definitely buy one. I use mine ALL THE TIME. Accuracy wins the race. Just my opinion

Love that mcdonalds grilled chicken caesar salad.

The boiled peanuts entry is totally funny. For something to be nutritionally possible to have 122 grams of fat it would have to have over 1000 calories, not 120, LOL On fat grams alone, forgoing any other macronutrient content it would have to be 1098 calories. It's a misprint probably supposed to be 12 grams of fat or…

To me your fats don't look terrible. If you are remaining in a calorie deficit, going over on fat isn't necessarily a bad thing, as long as it isn't all saturated fat, but that's more of a health thing. I will mention this after looking at your diary, I noticed a couple of entries that looked suspect to me. For instance…

I've found that on my journey, the better the shape I was in, the more concious I became about the 'quality' of the foods I ate. I find myself eating stuff that 2 years ago I would have completely dismissed. But yes, in theory, you could exist on swiss cake rolls and lose weight if you remain in a calorie deficit. Is it…

To the best of me knowledge, there aren't any good peer based studies that say how much is too much protein. I wouldn;'t worry too much. As far as sugar, it can be a problem if you're diabetic, but otherwise, as long as you remain in a calorie deficit whilst trying to lose weight, the sugar isn't a tremendous concern. Alot…

I'm afraid there are no exercises that will allow you to target fat loss anywhere in the body. You can target muscle growth but not fat loss. It's a matter of eating a calorie deficit in order to get your body fat lower. The body will burn fat from wherever it chooses and we can only go along for the ride.

I like these kinds of threads, It makes for interesting reading. For me, all in all, I think teas, coffee, and so on and so forth are merely 'condiments' for water used in an effort to change the taste for a palatable variety. Much in the same way that we use condiments and seasonings on food to change or enhance flavor.…

Just do the math and follow the plan. It definitely worked for my. 5 rounds down and feelin fine!

^ This. It's predominantly water, small amount of sugar intake isn't a bad thing unless you're diabetic, Juice has beneficial vitamins, tea has anti-oxidants, milk is chock full of BCAA's and even caffeine in moderation can have health benefits. In the end, they are all mostly water and hydration is the key. Personally, I…

Texas Pete, and lots of it.

As everyone eludes to, it's more changing your eating on the whole and making it a permanent change not a diet. IMO cheat meals are your buffer to the way you used to eat. you really can eat just about anything you want for these cheat meals as long as you watch amounts. A long time ago I dieted and lost about 60 and gain…

I'm partial to the cookies and cream cause I like my whey shakes a little sweeter, but the chocolate is good too. If you haven't already, check out Bodybuilding.com. They have as good a price as any on the OM gold standard and they have a bunch of flavors. Been wanting to try the chocolate coconut. If you're not completely…

Interesting stuff. Seems to have similar ingredients as some of the 5 hour energy shots ( caffeine and B-6) in differing amounts with some other stuff. Just an interesting side note though, It does contain 1,3-dimethylpentylamine which is one of several synonyms for Methylhexanamine. The FDA is actively trying to ban the…

Now that's what I'm talkin about. I wanna do some yoga now. Anything is possible!

It's a complete burden to have to fit an hour workout into an already hectic day, getting busier all the time, LOL. I get up at 3:30 every morning that I workout and do it early when there aren't any distractions and I can't possibly have any excuses other than being tired, that's the only part that's tough to deal with…

It's absolutely possible. Can you imagine that bathing suit will be a bikini! If you want it, it WILL happen that simple. With almost 2 years to do it, it's not a matter of if but when. As far as keeping it simple, well it really is a simple matter of eating less than your maintenance, not too much though, you've got the…

If the DVD's are in good shape, that's a good deal. you can download the workout rotation off the net and you're good to go!

I also have a problem with the electric contracting belt thing. I mean come on. Although here recently the one that kills me the most is LIPOZENE. Clinically proven, yet no studies are available for review. Also the people they have extolling the benefits of it... "you can't do it alone, YOU JUST CAN'T! " Yeah right, if…
