  • Calories: 1315/13 = 101.15 Grams: 1095/13 = 84.24 101 calories per 84 gram serving Approximately 100 cal/100 gram serving, sure Pretty low calorie ingredients.
  • A couple places to start (unfortunately not all that helpful if you don't have access to the full articles) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/7797810/ http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1046/j.1525-139x.2000.00062.x/abstract Also, when we talk about Kreb's cycle, we're mainly talking about metabolism rather than…
  • Magnesium, potassium, and calcium are the previously referred to minerals that play a role in alkanization of the urine (not blood, urine) after eating certain foods. I don't see what the showdown is about, really. You both said true things, and neither of you fully addressed the effects of lemon juice on pH of bodily…
  • Agreed- cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, dried beans (esp lentils and kidney beans). Eggs too if you eat those - I'd not worry too much about going a little over on the fat if they are good fat sources and you're not way over on carbs too.
  • If you're truly not hungry, don't eat. You could be misjudging the amount of food you're already eating- it's easy to underestimate portion sizes. But I'd say one of the most basic principles of life is that food is fuel- eat when you're hungry, don't when you're not.
  • Try exercising more to allow yourself more room in your macros for those "treat" foods. The benefits of excercise can outweigh even some pretty terrible diets.
  • Bicycling did wonders for both of my knees. Not anything extreme, I just sold my car and commuted by bike (maybe 1-3 miles per day) instead. Sometimes I'd go on longer leisurely (flat, slow pace) rides because I enjoyed it. Really strengthened my knees to the point where they never bother me anymore.
  • ***Second. This small change in attitude has helped me a LOT with the binge days.
  • Taco Lentils 1/2-1 c lentils 1/4-1/2 c brown rice 1-2 stalks celery, chopped small ~1 cup onion, chopped small Garlic, minced or finely chopped (I probably use 5-6 cloves, but you might prefer less) Butter (for cooking onion & celery... Maybe 1 Tbsp? Maybe less? You decide what you need/want) 2-3 cups broth or water 1 Tbsp…
  • *sigh* it's just a different way of saying the same thing. A cubic inch of muscle weighs more than a cubic inch of fat. A pound of muscle is smaller (volume-wise) than a pound of fat. Neither statement is wrong.
  • I wonder if you're recording your food intake accurately. Most people (even professional dieticians!) underestimate the amount of food they've portioned out. Do you weight/measure your food or just eyeball it? You say by 10pm you've only hit 1300 calories, and this seems very low if you're working out daily and not…
  • Make your favorite meal, and eat less of it.
  • Me too! Play outside, yoga, then a fabulous dinner - an all around nourishing day :) I'm planning on a baked sweet potato topped with black beans and yogurt (and some sunflower seeds if I can find any) with sauteed garlicky kale and broccoli. And if the urge strikes, a Samoa on the side, since it is that season.
  • Are you sure this is only 1200-1400 calories? It sounds like a lot more, and I'm willing to bet it is if you're working out that much and not hungry. Are you recording accurate portion sizes? Generally I think a good rule is eat when you're hungry, don't eat if you're not hungry.
  • **** yes. Pheromones people, pheromones.
  • For me, low-cal or other "substitute" versions of whatever I'm craving won't work. And I'm right with you when you say just a taste will set off a binge. The advice I'm going to offer is a little different than most (though these comments are all good input). When you get that uncomfortable feeling in your gut, sit down…
  • Save.
  • I mash them up in my oatmeal. Bonus if you have peanut butter.
  • She's 21. It's not choosing between health and alcohol, it's balancing healthful eating with a social life. At that age especially, it's difficult to have a healthy social life if you abstain from alcohol (though certainly not impossible).
  • I don't know what your "fitness program" is, but you need WAY more carbs than that to perform the most basic daily bodily functions. Maybe there's a misunderstanding?
  • This. Take responsibility. The employer's wife saw the assistant as a threat to her marriage, but it looks to me like her husband was the threat. And she was fired because of his feelings toward her and his wife's request that she be fired after finding out they spoke via text messages... NOT because she dressed…
  • It's a right to fire someone? So I can fire my employees who have different spiritual or political beliefs than I have? I can fire someone for being gay? Straight? For belonging to a certain church? For not going to church? For wearing a ponytail? For eating sushi?
  • I recommend the books "Women, food, and god" (not religiously affiliated) and "50 ways to sooth yourself without food". Can't recall the authors of the top of my head, but give it a Google. For me it's less about gaining control and more about letting go of fears, building a better sense of self-worth, and making the…
