  • I'd like to attribute chewing gum to helping me eat LESS, but not really change my eating habits. It's almost made it worse! I was definitely considered a gum fiend (a pack a day!) and now I'm so used to chewing gum all the time that if I'm not chewing gum, I still want to be chewing on something! Whether it be other…
  • I've actually been very curious! I know they aren't supposed to be used as a quick fix and make you instantly thin, but I have heard that they're good for tightening the skin. How temporary is it? I, like many people losing weight, have pretty loose skin right now. I was pretty curious about trying a wrap to see if it can…
  • I just scheduled mine for the 11th of October. While I think I'll be good enough to pass the minimum standards, I've got much higher expectations for myself this time around. My run has been improving since learning how to pace myself. I practice one a standard track used for testing, and just time each 100 meter. I…
  • I haven't tried crushing the ice with nothing else in the blender, but I just bought an Oster (my mom has had the same one for 20 years and it never failed her) and it blends up my shakes rather smoothly! not too expensive either!
  • Congrats! I'm still trying to work up the foresight to bring my own food to work (cheaper and healthier), I'm sure you had a slightly sassy sense of self-satisfaction :p
  • I have an FT7. Read some article on here citing a study about how the FT7 (not sure about the other watches), for ladies, has a 33% inaccuracy. So at the end of my workouts I just subtract 33% from the final calorie count! If I were you I would just do some research on the accuracy of that particular HRM. Good luck!
  • Haha, your friend found this on Pinterest! When I first saw it it made me laugh. I've been in the Air Force for two years (not that long, I know) and have NEVER heard of that. We actually have programs that encourage healthy LIFESTYLES, not crash diets :)
  • I'm going into the second week today. I would recommend it! I'm coming off of Insanity so so far the 'workouts' have felt a little too easy (though i am sore the next day so i guess that's a good thing) I'm a little apprehensive about Phase 2 as well, but I'm confident that I'll be in shape enough for when it comes up. And…
  • This is awesome! I've been really looking for something more interesting than cut up fruit or a bowl of cereal..but not as time consuming as making eggs..thanks for the link! I will definitely try this :)
  • I will reemphasize the importance of stretching. Many MEN (yes i'm being sexist right now) I've talked to don't think stretching is important and would just skip through both the warm-up and cool down stretches. DO THEM. Take them seriously, and if you still feel tight in some areas after all is said and done, stretch some…
  • Sugar-free gum! My favorites are the Trident Layers, Cherry/Lime, Strawberry/Citruc and MAngo/Peach! It's like eating candy :)
  • Honestly, I treat Chinese and Mexican restaurants as 'treats'. I go rarely, and when I do I make sure to work out that day and eat light for the rest of the day. And I know this is against the honor code of MFP, but I just forego trying to enter it all in to my diary. I already know I'm probably way over my calories, but I…
  • I suffered from those SO much when I was a teenager. Here's a couple tips: -Drink PLENTY of water. So much that you're going to the bathroom constantly, and just make sure you pee before you run! -If it still happens, focus on your breathing. I know when I first started running I was gasping for breath constantly, which…
  • Your curves are amazing. That is all. If you stayed at this weight I think you'd be a bombshell, and if you decided to keep losing and tone up, I'd just need to know when you're in town so I can keep my boyfriend away from you! ;)
  • I'm from Bancroft (Shiawassee County). It has a post office, two bars, and a mini flea market on the one block of street that calls itself a town. Out in Colorado Springs now, the city is too big!
  • Congrats! I hope to be there with you in a couple weeks! Keep on keepin' on!
  • I know how you feel! going into USAF basic training I could only do 3 normal push-ups! My advice would be to do at least the minimum you would need to pass the army's pt test every day (maybe even when you wake up and before you go to bed!). First start with as many perfect push-ups as you can do (even if it's one! just…

  • I've heard. At first it sounded WAY too intimidating! Just now looked at the website and at first I thought it was a 5k..wrong! Much longer..don't think I'd be ready or it by ANY means this year. But maybe if I transform myself into a beast in the next year I should handle it.

  • US Air Force! Getting promoted to E-4 at my two year mark in September :)
  • Do you have an iPhone? Look up Nike Training Club, it's awesome! Splits up workouts by goal (Fat loss, toning, or strength building), and then by difficulty level. There's also a variety of 15-minute, 30-minutes, and 45-minute workouts to choose from. And the more you do the more you can unlock! Additionally, many of the…
  • For an actual opinion: I'm currently in the air force, but not medical. But from what I've seen, enlisted medical usually works on the assistance side of things. And if you do AIR FORCE (yes i'm biased whutuffit), you will be not be scrubbing or cleaning any toilets :)
  • GOOOOO AIR FORCE!
  • I LOVE it! I've been using it off and on, would like to use it more for the toning exercises I just need to buy a medicine ball. I really like the reward system is uses, with a new reward every block of minutes you complete. It works great on the iPhone because you can play Pandora (or your playlist) in the background and…
  • I guess I was so caught up in the emotion dance that I totally forgot about the whole water retention thing (plus Aunt Flo is in town so that probably has something to do with it). Thanks you guys, as much as I hate seeing the number change like that on the scale, I guess I need to just keep on keepin on right?
  • That's awesome! I will definitely be trying this! I'm assuming the cooking rules are the same for redskin potatoes? (Boyfriend doesn't like sweet potatoes, so maybe i can make chips we both like!)
  • Ah! I LOVE watermelon! Glad I'm not the only one that users it to get by on the low calorie days. I'm doing Insanity right now, but on the rest days when I need to stick strictly to 1200 calories, I have a bowl of it with a teensy bit of salt for breakfast. 4-6 cups is less than 200 calories! I would also like to suggest…
  • I also haven't read through all 4 pages, but I've taken a look at the last few days of your diary and have a couple suggestions: -You eat a lot of breads (pastries, pretzels, muffins), try to restrict that to just having bread to hold a sandwhich together -Cut out any liquid but water. Sucks for the first couple weeks, but…
  • I'm in my 7th week of Insanity right now, and as I can't follow the diet plan EXACTLY, I don't believe I'll be getting commercial-worthy results. 30 Day Shred sounds like a good workout in a small amount of time, which is awesome! Only problem is the one I'm having right now with Insanity, I'm in a 2nd floor apartment and…
