Fitbit already expects a "lightly active" person to get roughly 5,000 steps per day. So that's why you haven't earned any extra calories. You've just kind of crossed the threshold into what you should be doing. Keep going. Just a heads up... If you have negative calories turned on, it will also take away calories on days…

I think it's optimal keto living. There is a chart that tells you what your macros should be.

Make sure you are on the extended release (XR) version - it helps side effects big time! I cannot take the regular version. Some people swear by name brand vs. generic but I take the generic XR just fine. Take with food. When I first started, I would literally eat a few bites of my meal, take pill, then finish meal. Give…

I think it is the cheesiest looking workout video since sweating to the oldies with Richard Simmons. I had the block the ad from my FB feed bc it was so painful to see Autumn looking so ridiculous! To each his own as they say.

This!!! I experienced exact same thing. Could not get my BS over 100 at all. Diagnosed with Reactive Hypoglycemia and eventually Insulin Resistance (IR). My IR has progressed that I now take Metformin and my BS does go over 100 (even fasting). I started low carb several months ago and have seen very positive changes in my…

Hi! Good luck! The stickies at the top of the message board have lots of great info.

Slip-ups are going to happen. It is normal, and it is OK. I think the folks that say they've never fallen off the wagon or been tempted in the past 73 years of their perfect dieting are super human (or more likely, full of it) On the bell curve of "dieters", they are the 1%'ers. Most of us ARE going to fall of the wagon at…

I got tickled today. I was at my endo. She remarked on how I have lost 18# since last visit. I told her I was following a low carb diet and she said great. She told me how important losing weight is for my health. However, when I check out, they give me a visit summary with info like medicine change, weight, blood…

The 21DF brackets include that you are doing one of their videos each day. That's why MFP has you at a lower calorie level. With MFP, you add in the exercise and it bumps you to the same calorie range 21df gave you.

I fell off the wagon this week and I leave for vacation tomorrow.

No tracker is 100%. I have the Alta. It occasionally picks up arm movements but not enough for me to worry about it. It doesn't track them when I'm in shower and getting ready in morning and when I'm charging it. It all balances out. I just look at the bigger picture. I wear mine on my non dominate wrist but tell Alta that…

EXACTLY!!!! Mine has no rhyme or reason. So crazy! I am already on Metformin.

It is a realistic goal for obese individuals. You don't look obese in your profile picture.

Me! https://www.fitbit.com/user/4PBTHS My steps have been down. Nursing my damn hip that flares up from time to time.

I have the Alta. Love it. Much less clunky looking than other fitbits. I like the watch feature and the text feature. I never thought I would like or need to text feature but I really like it and have used it! I know it says it can track bike. I don't see how since it can't track pushing a shopping cart or stroller. By the…

If you were so successful with counting calories, why did you switch to keto?? Keto may be too restrictive if are prone to binge like that. Did you binge when you counted calories?? Are you doing keto for health benefits or just the weight loss?

I ADORE it!!! The KEY is to leave it out and let it soften. It is EVEN better. My store doesn't sell the lemon cake version. :-( The flavors they do stock are hard to keep in the store.

Ditto OP. 40% protein is waaaaay too high. Excess protein will be converted to glucose. LCHF/Keto Group http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group

Thanks for chiming in! Good advice! Samantha - You are probably right - probably just coincidence. Dragonwolf - I just added magnesium this week. I keep reading about its importance. I've only had 3 doses - I'm sure it takes a while to have an impact. I am keto by accident. LOL! I really didn't plan on going full keto…

Any LC diet will produce a bunch of initial water weight loss. Then your weight should be going down at 1-2# per week if you are following moderate calorie restriction. Please realize it may take you a few weeks to "get into the groove" of your new WOE (that's true for any new WOE - but especially for LC bc it is generally…
-
Potential toxins are stored in fat. You didn't lose 10lbs of fat. You lost mostly several pounds of water. All low carb diets produce initial water weight loss. The inverse is also true. If you've lost that water and have a high carb day or two - you will gain several pounds of water weight.

It IS CICO at the end of the day but I find LCHF makes is SO MUCH easier to stay within my calorie goals. I'm not a raging, hungry, lunatic like I am on high carbs even with same calories. I am Insulin Resistant and increased hunger is a big part of that and my body does better with lower carbs. YMMV.
-
Timely post! I'm fairly new to LCHF and these answered many of my questions. Honestly one reason I put off this WOE for so long were reading blogs/message board comments saying to the tube "it takes so long to get into ketosis. One misstep and you are back to square one." So glad to read that's not true.

My shirt billowed! I am wearing a cute tank today. It is the kind that is supposed to me a looser fit. Not long ago it was kind of a tight fit but it fit so I wore it. I noticed not long into keto it getting looser. Today it actually billowed in the breeze. OMG!!!!
