Squatting180# for 3 x 5...comes out to be about 142% of my body weight.. I normally weigh it around 127# Hoping to hit the 200# mark in the next 2 months! I have lifted for awhile but really started lifting heavy in the fall and I love it!...Had a setback in January with a fractured tailbone but was able to come back much…

Because it's so much better to 'Act like a lady & lift like a boss' than to be skinny! Best thread I've seen in awhile!

You are doing the right thing, continue to do both as they are both beneficial for overall fitness...Cardio is what is going to burn fat and calories, while weight training will help you gain muscle and tone. Cardio alone will help you lose weight, but eventually you would potentially become 'skinny fat' in which you will…

You most likely need to eat more! I am 5'1 and 122lbs and intake around 1800-2000 calories per day with exercise. If your stomach is growling and you are hungry, your body is trying to tell you something...eat ! You will still need to eat with a calorie defecit to lose weight but not nearly as low as 1200 calories. Eat…

Although both the machine and MFP can be unaccurate because it does not usually account for your HR , I usually stick with the machine. Some machines have the ability to obtain a rough estimate of your heart rate. Also, depending on what program you are doing on the machine it may take into account your weight and age (if…

I allow myself a cheat day once a week as well.. it allows your body's metabolism to essentially reset itself. Put simply, by tricking your metabolism it will need to work harder to burn calories after a cheat day! With this being said, if you are able to be in control of what you eat, a cheat day is completely fine.…

I'm 5'2 123lbs....I usually take in anywhere from 1700-2000 cals per day depending on my workout for the day. I eat constantly and usually workout 5 or 6 days a week, iit keeps my metabolism going. I eat to maintain my weight so if you are trying to lose, go for around a 10% deficit as mentioned above!

I also believe that 3 hours a day is a bit much, especially if you do the same routine day in and day out. Agreed with above, unless you are training for a marathon etc etc. I get so bored so easily when it comes to exercise so I try not to do the same exercise more than once a week. Your body needs a challenge and by…

Try Sun Warrior Protein powder, a vegan powder that offers a few flavors. Some flavors are better than others, so try a few out! You can find it on amazon if you are looking for a better bargain!

yes! in my opinion it's most beneficial if you eat back your exercise calories. When you eat them does not particularly matter, as long as you can fit them into your daily intake. Some people like to eat back their exercise calories immediately after exercise to replenish energy stores and protein due to muscle breakdown…

I am going to go with no as well..Coffee and Tea may seem like just dark water in theory, but in reality they aren't! Because they contain caffeine, Coffee and Tea are considered diuretics which instead of hydrating your body they will dehydrate you, as oppose to water which is the best form of hydration! drink up!

In my opinion, Squats and lunges are probably two of the best lower body exercises , they engage most all of your lower body while also strengthening your core and working on stability and balance! ...also try jump squats, wide legged squats, step ups, box jumps, dead lifts or 1 legged squats!
