  • I can tell you that I used to spend up to 3 hours at the gym and now get the same workout in 60-90 minutes. Without the monthly cost. It's awesome
  • Congratulations on your choice to be healthy. If you need help, I'm here. Weighing in once a week would be the shortest time between weigh-ins. If you go less it will play with your mind. You're much better off feeling th edifference in how your clothes fit and how you feel when you do everyday things that would leave you…
  • You're 100% right, I blew that. i was thinking one thing and saying another. More thought was on the process than the calculation.
  • Your trainer may be right on the money. The "Points" system does not take into account the kind of training you may or will be doing. Good workouts require good fuel, and getting the proper amount of proteins, carbs and, yes, fats will produce better results than trying to use some diet to do both weight loss and…
  • Soounds like you're doing a great job. I still fight to do pull ups, unassisted. it might help to do negatives. That is where you use a chair to pull up, let the foot go, and use your own weight to lower yourself. In no time you will be doing a ton of regular pullups. And try doing Abripper without your shoes on. They add…

  • P90X does have a way to modify it. i wasn't in the best shape when I started. And it will shape you up. But INsanity really needs you to be in a certain shape in order to get the most out of it. When you're ready, the X will do what you want it to do.

  • The clap is a milestone for sure. I think Core is one of the best workouts, probably because it isn;t done enough in the 90 days. I'm doing Insanity now and will probably still do a few of the P90X resistance workouts just to add to this round.
  • Congrats! hopefully you were seeing results in the tapemeasure first. The scale can be deceiving when you are doing P90X. But glad you saw what you were looking for. Keep it up.
  • Insanity is awesome, but you really need to do a round or two of P90X to get in shape to do it. Sounds like you have the right track in mind. Like they say- the warm up is one helluva workout.

  • It's one of those love/hate relationships, totally awesome! I am previewing some of them, looking to start the clock on Monday. Just finished a Plyo workout that left me in a puddle of my own goo. Damn was it good.

  • Well....Insanity does kick your butt. As they say in the commercial, even the warm up is a killer.

  • that's a great start. As someone once said, "...the journey of 1000 miles begins with the first step..." what you've decided to do is a great first step. keep it up and use these boards for advice and motivation. There are a lot of great people here to for both.
  • As princess said, the bands can do the job without the weights or bar. And Insanity is a more advanced program that shouldn't be done unless you have done something like P90X or Power 90 first. It's true that weights aren't used, but it is extremely intense. I have done 2 rounds of the X and am starting Insanity on Monday…

  • I include them as well. I usually wear a heart monitor when doing resistance training and calculate the rate. Then add in exactly what I burn as a new workout, name it and refer back to it each time I do that routine. Any time you do an exertion that isn't included in your BMR, you should include it in your caloric count.
  • Insanity is something that you work up to. The company has a variety of programs that will give you the results wothout the extreme workouts. I have been through 2 rounds of P90X and I am hoping that I can do Insanity properly. If you get it and can't do it, it will be a waste and you will be frustrated even more.
  • I'm at the end of week 11 in my 2nd round. Keep pushing play, you will be amazed at the results.

  • One thing you want to make sure is that you buy a "real" copy of the system, there are some pirate copies floating out there. It is always best to buy through Beachbody because you get all of right videos, the Nutrition Book, the Workout book that provides all of the instructions to the programs and all of the supports…

  • Sandy - you are the guru on this, I'd like to know what you are doing also. for my second round I stayed on the 40-40-20 until phase 3, then went with the higher carb, mainly because I am doing doubles and need the extra carbs for fuel so as not to bonk.
  • 10 of my favorites are Plyo and Yoga. Love both.
  • start with what you are currently doing, what you would like to do and what you are looking to accomplish.
  • I would love to help- if you want it. I do this for a number of people already.
  • By not eating prior you are going to the event (or the tasting last night) with hunger and the expectation that you will eat something. Then the temptation takes over with "I'll just eat this one, more...". Eat the right foods and fill up before you go so it will be easier to not eat there and the temptation will be…
