  • I suspected my daughter (who is 13) is insulin resistant/pre diabetic because she gains weight so easily. So about 8 weeks ago or so I totally change our meal plan to a refined sugar free/white flour free house. It has worked out fantastic. She eats 6 times a day, 3 meals, three snacks and is losing about 1/2 lb a week.…
  • I am a 10.5 regular (bordering on narrow) and I have had a lot of luck with New Balance. I have tried a bunch of the other names, Nike, Reebok, Adidas etc and did not like any of them. I don't run but I do BodyStep with a lot of high impact and my NB are working out great. Good luck.
  • How about this ... my DH is both taller and shorter than me  . If he stands on his left leg he is shorter if on his right taller. LOL, one leg is about 1 inch longer than the other. The funny part is we did not know this for years. It was about 10 years ago when his chiropractor discovered it and now he has an insert…
  • You really should talk with a doctor to be sure. For me, it is my left big toe that goes numb and has a blue look to it. I went to the doctor and he checked it out for me, something about the way the artery in my foot runs and sometimes the blood flow is less. He had a name for it but I dont remember what it was, it is…
  • And don't forget the ICE. We have had incredible ice storms here this winter. I am only in Southwestern Ontario and I still have patches on my driveway and sidewalks.
  • I only work out in the morning. I have a young family and nights are taken with their activities. I was up at 5:35am to do my daily work out :). Works for me, I really enjoy it. It is nice to have the workout over and done with and I know it won't get skipped because something has popped up later in the day. And getting up…
  • I only do cardio in the morning before eating anything. I am the same way, I feel very nauseous if I eat before intense cardio. I am getting nauseous right now, just thinking about it :P. To get some quick energy, I use a Hammer Gel pack. I take one a few minutes before I start and it really helps me. I processes it very…
  • I go with the active rest day....I usually do a mild yoga or body flow class.
  • Thank you! I am going to try this, I like your idea about just using the dough setting. I don't like the way mine bakes up as well. Does a great job when I use it for pizza dough.
  • Yes, try changing the battery (this worked for my husbands). I have a FT7 as well and had this problem. It would work for a bit then stop. Tried all the tricks with no luck. I ended up buying a H7 (I got so frustrated) to work with my watch and now with the latest Android and Polar Beat update it works with my Samsung…
  •    Me too (my kids especially  )!
  • I only do from 350 to 450 depending on the release (150lbs and almost 6 ft). Newer releases are usually 400+. I did R81 yesterday and clocked 429 via my HRM. Did an older release on the weekend and came in around 338. My dh (218 lbs or so) does anywhere from low 600 to mid 750 so I think it is an average for men and women.…
  • LOL! And I have another planned for Friday. I totally luck out as my DH has excellent insurance  1/1: Traveling day, no workout. 1/2: BodyStep (61 mins) and BodyFlow (52 mins) class . . blah, blah, blah from before  . 1/10:Rest Day, went for a massage, yeah me! 1/11: BodyPump 1/12: BodyStep, sons 10th…

  • Me too! One hour BodyPump class. Love all my LM classes.
  • 3rd: BodyPump class (60 mins ~374 cals) Running Total: 2 of 3 days
  • Hmm...really? I have been doing BodyStep 3 times a week and have been too afraid to try Attack  . I think I will have to give it a try soon :).
  • I'm in too! 1st: Traveling day, no workout. 2nd: BodyStep (61 mins) and BodyFlow (52 mins) class
  • Hi there. I am 1/2 inch under 6 but I eat at least 2000 to 2200 cals a day (sometimes more! We have delish tarts in the house right now and they are 330 a pop!!!). I workout almost daily and burn 350 to 800 depending on what I am doing. I am at maintenance weight (150lb) but want to lose a few pounds before Christmas…
  • I just opened this thread now and my first thought was "are you fueling properly?" It is so important to have the energy to work out. I love going to the gym, I go almost daily. That is the next thing, do you enjoy what you are doing? That is important too, you can't love everything (read, mountain climbers here  )…
  • I think it is a regional thing. I did a Body Step class today and it was packed with Steppers. I love my Body Step class and do it 3 times a week. My hubby even does it with me! PP had some excellent ideas, pull out that step. Stepping can be a lot of fun!
  • Works for me, I do a GL class almost everyday and sometimes two. I like to do the Pump/Flow or Step/flow combos. Sometimes a CXworxs/Step combo as well. I do the flow on my rest day as well. I love it. I have lost about 35lbs and I am in the best shape of my life. I do bike in the summer (from Oakville here) for my cardio.…
  • I had sharp pain anytime I did a certain backward movement. For me, reaching up and back to put down the DVD player for my kids in my Caravan gave me the sharp pain. I got the pain on demand, every time with that quick movement. The pain was less when I moved it slowly. Yes, I am completely pain free for that movement now,…
  • It is hard to say unless you have tests done, but it does sound like it might be a tear. I had tendonosis, two tears and an impingement in my right rotator cuff. It took a very long time to heal (my doctor warned me that it could take 1 year) about 9 months (I was lucky). I went to physio and was assigned exercises to…
  • I gained 50 to 80 with my three kids. I now weigh 30 lbs less (I have hypothyroidism and was not dx'ed until trying for kids, my metabolize is much better now) than I did when I got pregnant with my first. I was over 230 lbs with the last (I am 5 11.5) my water broke on the way to my OB appointment so I never got the last…
  • I do body pump 3 to 4 times a week and I burn (est using my polar) from 400 to 460 per class depending on the release. The ones with more cardio (like the plyo lunge tracks, big swat or back tracks etc) I normally burn more. My husband normally burns over 500. So it really depends on the person.
  • I like the first part the best: "I actually can’t hear you from up here.". LOL. I am only 5 11.5 and I cant tell you how many times I have had to bend down to hear :P. Awesome job on the lost, 172 lbs. You look amazing!
