  • Really liked this. Theres others there on youtube too.
  • Thats fab and very inspiring:-)
  • Ive just had a cheat week. Sisters wedding was recently and have gone a bit mad eating silly stuff since. Hopefully will be back on the straight and narrow next week. Need some clean living. The great thing is you adjust to healthy eating and miss it if your naughty. Agree with the person who said have a cheat dinner. I…
  • Hi, Im also part of the 'club' :-) I started out around 170lbs and now about 143-44, for about 6 months. Was v happy with that, as an over-40 but now wondering if I should push further down for our wedding next year. In some ways it depends on muscle and fat too. I have had more toned versions of 140 than I do now.. and…
  • Your post is really interesting, esp about the Greek family! To be honest, with these events, I think I eat the nerves and it has a lot less to do with what other people think. I have found that, if I eat smaller portions during the day, get some extra exercise in (ie an extra mile/20 mins), and maybe a bit extra the next…
  • Thats a great question. its a killer travelling on roads that have only garages or takeaway food. Some garage shops seem to have absolutely nothing healthy. Same with some airports. The advice about bringing your own food, or stocking up in a supermarket seems good esp the cooler. Also, be a bit nice to yourself. Someone…
  • Wow! 2 stone already lost. You re a lovely looking girl and doing this for all the right reasons. Good luck on your journey. Here is to healthier futures for all of us.
  • Wow! you look fab! How much have you lost. 20 something pounds? Well done!
  • I went through something similar. I got a bit 'fatigued' with calorie counting and left for a while. However, I had a huge fear of putting on the weight again, so tried to keep portion sizes similar to what I had learnt. Sometimes fear can be your friend! I did put on around 3lbs in 3 months, but am back here again and…
  • Well done on giving up the diet coke. I have a similar issue with coffee. I know it doesnt make me feel good but I still feel I need it. Someone said that (similar to above) that you shouldnt deprive yourself of all treats, but I wouldnt mind if the treat made me feel better, not worse! I have managed to cut down on coffee…
  • Wow! Is it because you lost so much weight? Thats fantastic! Good luck! I know something of what you have been through.
  • Im picturing you eating a sack-full of carrots everyday! That might be too many veggies. Im a vegetable loving carnivore. I like days without meat because there are so many tasty veggies out there, esp when mixed with certain spices and sauces... Before I came here, I was eating meat for my main meal everyday, and…
  • Ah poor you. Do allow yourself to have bad days, but they only need to be a day long. Just remember you have already lost 12lbs thats a great start. Who knows where you ll be after another month, though they do say keep the weekly weight loss low for health reasons. (ie 1.5-2lbs a week) Sometimes it helps to focus on the…
  • Great to change an old habit for a better one. Well done!
  • Wow you look great! Your body is so defined. Are you working out too?
  • When I was on a plateau I tried cutting certain foods out altogether as it seemed to me to be impossible to lose much while eating them. For instance I cut out almost all bread for a month, and it seemed to help. Other peoples advice about eating protein instead of carbs ties in with this. I also tried to eat one low carb…
  • 24 pounds. Wow well done! If you need extra friends here to make up for the 'strangeness' of some other friends, we ll support you :-) I think your friends will come around in time. It is good to surround yourself with more positive people, whoever they are in the meantime. My aunt has been fabulous. She lost alot of…
  • Wow! You look great in your 'before' pic, but you truly look like a different person since you lost weight! Well done!
  • Here is a synopsis to start with: Eggs, yoghurt, milk including goats milk, nuts, cheese including feta and goats cheese, white meat, fish, occasionally red meat, and pulses such as peas, beans, chick-peas, aduki beans, etc 1. Breakfast - eggs or yoghurt/ milk. Tried some goats milk to avoid excessive cows dairy. Sometimes…
  • Congrats and thanks for sharing. Dont know why but your post made me cry. I think your determination in going back after losing and gaining is a fantastic lesson. Sometimes I feel 'old' and Im not even your age. (And you look so young and fresh with so much of life still ahead of you) To think your diet has made such a…
  • Congrats! Well done! You should really celebrate! Are you going to buy a new outfit or something! Something nice just for you:-) I took a break for a while once I know my portion sizes were under control. I found that I could eat a bit extra a day (esp around breakfast time... if you eat early you have a chance to burn it…
  • I asked both my best friend and my sister to be bridesmaids. Initially wanted only one bridesmaid, but in the end couldnt decide :-) Its lovely to be included in a friend or relations wedding. My cousin asked us to sing/play music at her wedding. For me that was better than being a bridesmaid :-) If you do decide on one…
  • Some of us can do this on our own, others need some kind of help. I went to a local weightloss organisation to get me going, and help identify my worst habits and give me a bit of a kick in the bum-bum to get me going! Then this site has been great with maintenance for me. My will power isnt very powerful. I definitely…
  • Will bump this. Im not vegan but have found a love of vegan-type food:-) Am sure you wont be only vegan here. Did you check out the groups? Is there one for vegans?

  • Just an aside. I think some of us underestimate the calories we eat every day, so maybe thats why myfitnesspal is a little lower? (I shouldnt speak for them! Just what I say to myself) (Like I nibble when am cooking, or grab a small handful of dried fruits/nuts and rarely put in those calories)
  • Thanks! V interesting. Will pour over it in detail later The simple equasion of eating less than the calories you consume doesn't work for everyone. I think that some foods are harder to burn off than others .ie. giving up bread really helped me lose weight personally. But thats not scientific :-)
  • Huge achievement! Your son looks proud!
  • Thats v interesting. No wonder I ve been so curvy and my mum was so slim!
  • I know how you feel:-) I wrote something similar here once. Strange seeing them disappearing. But now when I look back at old pics, my old boobs do add to the general impression excess flab. Its a good idea to go bra shopping, so you can always enhance what you have with good supportive underwear :-)
