These look delicious! Thanks :)

Sugar withdrawal and dehydration, as someone else already mentioned. Drink a lot of water, and if it doesn't help hold on for a few weeks while you go through your sugar detox. I've detoxed from Coca-Cola and had killer headaches too!

I read an article about how while in hypothyroidic mode, your body starts being resistant to insulin. Your body should increase its metabolism eventually, but you also must make sure that you exercise regularly to combat insulin resistance. I can't exactly remember what insulin resistance does, but google it and you'll…

Just start again. Think about it like quitting smoking: it's rare that someone succeeds on the first try. Just try again, and learn from your mistake. Try to think back to when you worked out and ate well... how did you feel? Proud, happier, better in your skin? Concentrate on those feelings whenever you feel like you're…

Debone and skin, cut into cubes. Put 1/4 of an onion and 2 or 3 garlic cloves (more if you like garlicy stuff) in a food processor and mix. In a bowl, mix about 1 cup of plain low-fat yogourt, garam masala (Indian spice mix, otherwise use cumin, coriander, paprika, cinnamon, curry) to taste and the now chopped onion and…

One of my friends replaced her office chair with a balance ball. You work your abs all day!

I'm dealing every day with sugar addiction. The only way, really, is to stop. Whenever you want sugar, grab a fruit. Try to have more complex carbs (brown rice, quinoa, whole wheat pasta and bread), it'll help cut the cravings in the long term. Whatever happens, never eat enough to make yourself sick! I've done this time…

I like to add yoga after my workouts - they help to calm and center, and cool the body down after more intense weight or cardio, and also help with the soreness. If you do it every day, you'll see that you'll feel taller, more confident, and moving about doing your regular chores will feel easier.

Cranberries is good! More fiber/antioxidants :)

My boyfriend is allergic to nuts... any suggestion as to what I could use to replace the almonds? Raisins maybe?
-
For the sweets rages, try the healthy indulgence brownies down in the recipe forum - to replace super sweet desserts, I also try to have Sun-Rype fruit bars. They're sweet, but they're 100% dried fruit, so they're better than processed desserts. If you have a sweet tooth like me, try to let yourself have a little treat…

I try not to weigh myself every week... your weight can change by 3 to 5 pounds every week... so I do it once a month, at the end of my workout rotation or phase. It would be on Thursday mornings, since it's my day off. Good luck with attaining your goals everyone! :)

Sex is a good way to spend calories... ;)

You get over on protein probably cause your carb/fat/protein ratio is not good - if you're trying to lose weight, decrease the carb and up the protein. You may be eating just what's right for you, but MFP doesn't know that until you change the ratios. You can do that in My Home/Goals. Mine is at 30/30/40 and I CANNOT for…

Turbo Jam is great :) It's fun, Chalene is very motivating and there are so many different rotations you can make if you have all or most of the DVDs. It never gets boring! You can always mix it up with other workouts, to keep it fresh. Anyway, it's a good choice for beginning home workouts for sure :)

For Canadians, I use the Shopper's Drug Mart Life Sportzone Whey Protein Isolate - the protein/total weight ratio is close to cytosport's, and all whey proteins have that aftertaste that is easily hidden by a banana! Anyway that's how I do it, in a banana smoothie. And the price is affordable, too.

If you want to eat a high calorie meal, just eat half of it, and bring the rest home! Restaurant portions are always too big, anyway. But other people's ideas seem good, too! Don't restrain yourself though, enjoy the night out. Don't ruin it by thinking too much about your calories! Life happens, to every single one of us,…

Slieber, there was a 300 cal difference for me... oh well! :)

I haven't this one posted anywhere on this site yet... it takes into account your level of exercise (not only your level of daily activity like MFP), and gives you your maintenance calories as well as your weight loss calories. Check it out! http://www.tlbc.ca/blog/index.php/bmr-calculator/

Mine is at 40% too, and I find it really, really hard to reach - but I do try to have protein at every meal. I already have a protein smoothie in the morning, I'll try to replace the fruit bars by protein bars as snacks, maybe it'll help... I always overdo my carbs, whatever I do, and I find it frustrating...

I just threw in four chicken breasts cut in strips in my crock-pot, with lemon juice and rosemary. It's that simple, it smells great, and it'll be amazing for mixing up in rice or to put in sandwiches!

Mandersen, the 2nd one you're mentioning is called a curstey lunge - it's like you're curtseying. Yeah those are a real killer for the butt and outer thigh!
-
Lunges and squats! I know, they're not fun to do, but man do they work your butt off, literally!
-
It's hard to calculate the nutritional value of these since there are no exact measurements... the nv of oven-baked chicken breasts, add a little protein and fat from the egg coating (but so very little) and some carbs from the crumbs... but it's probably so very little that your regular oven-baked chicken nv would be…

I've read around here that the less you have to lose, the more difficult it is to lose it - it all depends on how your body is constructed too I suppose, and where your fat is stored. Good luck with your journey!

It's not easy to combine student life and healthy living, but it's worth doing! You are so much more attentive and productive when it comes time to work. Good luck!

Why did you marry him? You need to decide on your priorities... I'm sure he's very afraid that you'll cheat.

Bonniejo, that's why I've always refused to live on campus. I'd really rather make my own food, and also not live at school.. better for separating school with the rest of my life. Anyway, I'm an English MA, so here I am introducing myself :)
