  • I had been off MFP and off track on fitness for a few months. Getting back into it a week ago I realized I had accidentally been eating paleo so I figured hell why not try it? Omg my energy level is intense and I don't feel like I have to worry about how much I eat. Best feeling is that even though I'm only down 4lbs…
  • oooooo can't wait to try it out! bump!
  • Its such a good feeling! And going by how your things fit is an awesome way to tell. The last 5lbs i lost ended up being a WHOLE pant size! I just bought 2 new pairs a few weeks ago lol. I'm down to the size i wore just out of high school so building muscle is definitely the best way to go :D Keep it up!
  • I felt the same way at first and I'm 5'5 and started out at 168, currently at 143. I put in my headphones, put my nose in a book if i was on a stationary bike, and kept thinking to myself these things: "At least i'm getting off my *kitten* and doing something" "I'll prove this to myself and to nay-sayers" and "Damn I'll…

  • FREAKING water chestnuts!!!!!! I'm sitting there enjoying my yummy noodles then *CRUNCH* makes me think i ate a bug. Yuck. And they're tasteless so whats the point?! Lol. Oh, and even though i don't drink soda I've never understood most people's obsession with Mountain Dew, I think it tastes like icky chemicals and leaves…
  • I get about 100g of protein a day and i have a tough time eating 1200 to begin with. I eat egg whites, chicken, and i have a Soy protein shake after working out. My diary is open. I'm happy with protein levels, now I just need to eat more calories from nuts and maybe flax seed.
  • You look great!! So much younger and happier! Proud of you girl. I totally get how MFP understands things that others don't get :) Keep it up you're an amazing inspiration!
  • http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitness_articles.asp?id=656 Here is a basic workout you can do at home. Its only 20min long and they show modifications in case you're having difficulty. They do 15 reps i believe. If that's too much for you then do as many as you can where you feel like you're getting fatigued but can…
  • I'll give this challenge a shot! I need to get myself extra motivated this week. Weekly Goal: 4000 Mon: calories burned (how they were burned) Tues: calories burned (how they were burned) Wed: calories burned (how they were burned) Thur: calories burned (how they were burned) Fri: calories burned (how they were burned)…
  • WOW!!!! You look incredible! What an amazing transformation, great job! Your huge smile shows how much better you feel about yourself  So proud of you!
  • I was never really into soda or flavoured drinks or even juice, I just wouldn't drink much water after my morning coffee/tea because i didn't like the taste of it. I pushed myself through the taste, now i love it, and a big thing was that unless I'm out biking or in the AZ heat i can't stand COLD water, i like it room…
  • Enzymes in the onion react to water, so they hit the moisture in your eye making it burn, causing you to cry. Soaking an onion can help but it can also take away the flavour or cutting it underwater which is difficult! I found the best way was to keep my hands wet as well as leaving a puddle of water under the onion while…
  • Yes, drinking the necessary water helps for your kidneys to work overtime and push toxins and extra water weight out of your body so you're not carrying extra water weight, always a plus! Also, since building muscle helps to burn off fat quicker and lose that soft weight you need water to help the muscles to repair…
  • Lol! Totally true!! Especially numbers 1, 6 and 10. Thanks for this list :drinker: <-- Drink that water!
  • http://blogilates.com/ Cassey is amazing! Besides doing biking cardio and strength training at the gym, her target vids make me feel the burn! Give some of her workouts a try (no half-as*ing it!) and see how you feel
  • Yes! Ditto on that  *Bump*
  • I'm a tele monitor tech and a CNA and in school to become an echo tech. May not be in nursing school but I understand your problem. The best solution I've found is that I've portioned out my meals and eat only fruits and veggies in between main meals. You know how there are TONS of pockets on your scubs? Make ONE a food…
  • I incorporate her routines with lots of biking cardio and strength training at the gym. I love her routines because they really push me and I feel the burn the next day. She is also very enthusiastic and genuine and it keeps me motivated. Cassey's workouts help me target those places I can't focus at the gym (back and…
  • ^ Definitely true. Stretch marks are literally scars from you're skin tearing from stretching too fast. They don't fade because they go to the deep layer of skin. They will fade to silvery lines and can become less deep but unfortunately will always be there. Sucks because I've had them since i was 13 years old when i got…
  • Thanks. It was tough because I've been on such a high about how much I've changed in my life and I've been feeling so good so it hit me hard when the trainer went over her numbers. My doctor's PA does triathlons so I'm sure he'd know where the best place to get accurate information. Another thing that's difficult is that…
  • I bought a Trek FX 7.1 about 2.5 months ago. Have used it as my main transportation ever since and only use my car on the weekends. I bike about 20 miles/week for work/errands and try to add in at least a 10 mile ride. Live in AZ though so it's a bit hot to do too much lol. 6 times a week when I go to the gym I use a…
