We purchased a treadmill at the beginning of September as a present for the family. Since the first week of September, I have logged over 94 miles on…

*Hugs* I know what he said was really awful but try to forgive him. Living a healthy lifestyle doesn't mean you have to give up the occasional treat. Maybe you could pre-plan what you would have at the diner and do some extra exercise to help you stay within your calorie goals. It's ok to be angry with him for a while and…

Ah another Jetsons fan. George Jetson sang that!

Well -- you can try beans, winter squash, and olive oil. Here's an excerpt from a website: One cup's worth of soybeans, navy beans, or kidney beans provides between 200 and 1,000 milligrams of omega-3s (0.2 to 1.0 grams). A four-ounce serving of tofu will provide about 0.4 grams of omega-3s. Therefore, these foods provide…

Hi! I find walking briskly helps to loosen muscles and eases my pain. I try to use my best posture and consciously tighten my abs when walking. Doing Jillian Michaels' exercise routines where you are jumping, getting up and down on the floor, and calisthenics, etc., sometimes aggravate my symptoms but I still like to do…

You are an inspiration! Fabulous!

Wow! Thanks for sharing! Bump!

LOL! I see you have the answer to your question as your reward for your 1st mini goal. To really know how many calories you burn, you will need to use a heart rate monitor. I think the consensus is that the calorie counts provided by MFP for certain activities (ex. cleaning) overestimate your burn.

Hi Amyllu, My goodness! Give yourself some credit! You have lost 30 pounds even with your disability! Congratulations! Given your age and other factors you have to be realistic. How about walking a little further each time or doing some of those exercise routines that you can do while sitting in a chair? Just google "chair…

Hi! I recommend that you see an endocrinologist. Although a general practitioner could do a screening test for hypothyroid, an endocrinologist will do a more complete set of blood tests to ensure your thyroid is functioning appropriately. I am certainly not a doctor, but your symptoms are consistent with hypothyroid…

**hugs** That is hard to take. I'm sorry for your loss. You need to take your time to grieve and to realize it is not your fault. With IUD in, the pregnancy should not have started and there probably is no way to remove an IUD to save a pregnancy that has begun. :frown: I hope you feel better soon.

Hi! We are here for you. You can view my diary to see the kinds of things I eat and that may give you some ideas. If you have not exercised in a long time, it would be good to take it slow so you don't hurt yourself. You could start out with walking and progress to more challenging exercises. Even with walking there is a…

Hi Cristy, You can definitely get yourself acclimated to heat -- but you have to work up to it. You can search the internet for information about how to safely acclimatize. Here is a link to get you started. Good luck and be safe! http://fellrnr.com/wiki/Heat_Acclimation_Training

You need some serious MFP pals for support. Today is my 70th day in a row logging in and tracking my food and exercise. I couldn't make it without the pals who commend my workout efforts and who celebrate my good food choices. You have a lot of stress. Just think how much more stressed you will be if you don't do this…

Now you're talking! The support of MFP friends is the best! I can hardly believe that I have logged in close to 70 days in a row! The food and exercise diary has been very helpful and revealing. It helps me plan ahead when I will be eating out and just generally keeps me on track better than if I try to write everything…
