But why do you drink it? Do you need the extra protein? All I've really been told is to eat less and exercise more (bare bones of it all) and so adding something like that just seems like a waste of calories to me.

They are water resistant to 50 metres - so yes. They can :) I ended up picking up a $50 one from Target and I used it tonight. It's fantastic. I absolutely love the one I got. It's not a Polar - but it's great :)

I wouldn't be offended, in fact I'd be very pleased with a gift like that. Things for weightloss and health and fitness can be expensive. What sort of thing were you thinking of buying her? Something like a Heart Rate Monitor? Maybe even get her a giftcard to a sport store - she could maybe get some good shoes or something…

Thank you so much everyone. You've been very very helpful :) I appreciate it. :flowerforyou:

Thanks very much :) It sounds really good. What's the chest strap size like? Is it adjustable? It doesn't have to connect for the sensor to work does it? Because it's the strap is too small for me I was thinking my Nan might be able to add something to the ends of it to make it a bit bigger to fit me.

Another 60 minutes down tonight. So far 120 minutes. 240 to go :)
-
I'm in. 360 a week :) I wish I had a heart rate monitor so I could do that one, but I guess time will have to do! I can start yesterday (Monday for me). Monday 29 November 2010: Did: 60 minutes strength training (Les Mills Body Pump). Total to go: 300 minutes.

Haha. They are incredible. It's such a pity that they're not at your college one. There are a few cardio ones. Body Attack is the main one I think. Not too sure. I find that when I'm in Body Pump I actually know what's coming next. How the movements change from singles to 2 down, 2 up. Etc. And how many. It's cool. So…

This thread is hilarious. At first I was like "huh?". It took me a minute to finally figure it out and then I blushed, tears of laughter sprung to my eyes and I tried hard not to laugh because I'm at work! Haha. Love it!

I wanna know too. I know you can make models at mvm.com. Maybe they just make those and then put them together?

I've tried a lot to lose weight, but for some reason I'm more determined this time around. I think the main thing that happened that made me more determined was that my Nana went to the hospital with chest pains. I'm very close to my Nana, and when I found out she was at the hospital I thought "I don't want her to die…

Thanks :) I do walk fast. I tried again today, but couldn't quite gather up the courage to try to jog again. I dont know what's holding me back! I guess all I can do it try again tomorrow. Hopefully once I finally manage it I wont find it hard to continue to do it because I'll know I CAN do it. I just don't understand why…

I went to the gym last night, was going to attempt the first stage of jogging, but I got too nervous and didn't. *sighs*
-
HAHA! That's hilarious. The first post is hilarious too. The things people come up with!!
-
I was at the gym this afternoon and I tried to watch, but I found I was just too focused on my exercise to pay that much attention to what other people were doing. I find a place to focus on the wall and just stare at it - or at the tv. Haha. My gym is so small though. Most people seem to be ok. But I found it very amusing…

Thanks for the tip :) That's very helpful! I'm excited about it. I'll be trying it tonight.
-
Oooo. I'm going to start tonight!
-
Thanks everyone. I swear you all make me fearless :) I'm looking forward to testing it out now!!

I find it hard to keep healthy stuff down too. It's really annoying. Junk food stays down no problems. But now that I'm eating healthy, and am therefore eating less, I find it hard to get to 1200 calories unless I eat something full of sugar. I'm a bit annoyed at the whole starvation mode thing.
-
Unfortunately? Do you find it hard to get to 1200 calories?
-
Perhaps you need to find a different juice? Or perhaps go for a little walk to burn some calories so you can eat more? We don't want you starving!!
-
I track Calories, Carbs, Fat, Sugar, Sodium and Fibre. Calories for obvious reasons. Carbs because I think I should eat few of these. Fat, Sugar and Sodium because I'm monitoring these so I don't go over. And Fibre just so I can make sure I get enough of this. :)

Hi Amy :) Good to see you posting a topic! WELCOME. Hehe. I'm looking forward to us talking about this more :P
-
My most hated would have to be lunges or pushups. I'm not strong enough to do pushups properly yet (can't wait until I can). Lunges just hurt. Other than that I dislike the elliptical because it kinda hurts me, but I know they are all doing me good and so I do all of them regularly. :)

Thanks girls :) Stac - that makes perfect sense. My stomach is very very flabby right now, but I thought if I start working it out now, then hopefully it'll tone up when I start to drop more weight, and that way when I get to my goal weight, hopefully I won't have any flabby skin left. I completely understand your "I'm…

I'd love to have a body like Delta Goodrems: Or Kelly Clarkson: Or Kate Beckinsale: Or Amy Adams:

If you're comfortable and happy with your weight, and it's a healthy weight, DO NOT CHANGE. Taller ladies can't be expected to weight the same as shorter women. I myself am 6 ft 1 (185 cm) and am aiming to be around 80kilos. That's 176 pounds. According to BMI calculations - that'll be healthy for me. I'm going to be…

Welcome :) It sounds like you've got everything planned. We will all be here to support you through your journey. Good luck with everything. Don't hesitate to ask anyone a question if you're unsure. I'm only new to the site but so far everyone has been majorly supportive.

I could be wrong, but I once read that sometimes tests give false negatives, but it's extremely unlikely to get a false positive. It may be that your body isn't producing a big enough amount of the chemical that is detected on pregnacy tests. Out of curiosity are you using the same sort of test, or are the brands…

Why are they angry about it?! Surely they could just hit the "x" and select "hide all updated from "my fitness pal"" if it bothered them so much. In my opinion it's kind of rude that they're angry that you wanted to share your success with them.
