• Hi ladies! You both have had your babies by now, but I am just joining. I am 30 weeks with my 3rd baby. I had GD with babe #1 in 2014. Did not have it with #2 in 2016. Here I am again with a much worse fail than before. Frustrating because I am much healthier now than with my last baby, but I guess it is what it is. Hope…
• I'm still around... logging in almost daily to at least keep this habit up. It does remind me to watch what I'm eating even though I'm not logging. All I want is for my favorite jeans to fit again! I was at pre-preggo weight 2 weeks after birth (only gained 20 pounds, I am overweight), but everything about my body is…
• No space in my house either... I bought the dang DVD without knowing how much space was needed. I plan on starting with walking and rejoining my gym when I feel more comfortable leaving my little one.
• Hi Ladies! I live in Alaska and am a science teacher - bet you couldn't tell that by my screen name =) I am 29 years old and just had my first (amazing) baby. I have been a member for MFP for a little over 2 years. I believe I started at 199 two years ago, got down to 179, then life happened. Two miscarriages left me…
•
I will say that I didn't have a smidge of dilation until several hours before I gave birth.
Ahhh this gives me major hope! I am getting HUGE!
• Whelp... I am due on Monday.. 5 days (but who is counting?!?)! No far nothing is progressing. No painful contractions, no dropping, no other signs. I guess little girl is comfy in here! So far, no talk of induction from my doc, but things might change at my next appt tomorrow. I have my first cervical check as well so…
• Sushi, pizza, chocolate milk, turkey sandwiches from subway, indian food, thai food... basically anything with carbs! The bad part is that I have gestational diabetes- so I can't indulge- boo!
• Wonderful! As much as I complain, it really is not that hard. I had my baby shower tonight and I was able to eat most of the food there. I waited for a teeny tiny piece of cake until after I took my two hour, at 99! I wish I would have eaten more now... oh well =)
• I am 38 weeks tomorrow... and cannot wait to dig into the package of Oreos I packed in my hospital bag. Ha!
• Just wanted to say... welcome to the GD club! I just sent a friend request... I was also diagnosed at 29 weeks- I failed the stupid test on one draw by 2 points! It has been pretty easy to control by following the diet, albeit frustrating. Sometimes I just want a plate full of nothing but buttered noodles! I've already…
• 36w3d and up a total of 13.5 pounds. I feel like I haven't really had an appetite at all! I am also following the gestational diabetes diet (for the last 7 weeks) and pretty much forced to eat 2500+ calories a day made up of a lot of meat, cheese, eggs, and good carbs.. ugh. At least I know the little one is getting…

• Can I ask how much it cost to encapsulate it? So curious =)
• Thanks for the ideas! I can't believe it is already the 17th... where does time go?? Christmas is in a week!
• Nausea has decided to rear its ugly head recently- at 32 weeks baby is getting big (~4 pounds by scan) and when she moves I feel like I am on a rollercoaster! Sometimes it is so bad to the point where I can't eat (which is bad for my gestational diabetes)... I keep telling myself I only have 8 weeks left!
• Haha oh man, my students think this is hilarious. When I am teaching I constantly can't remember what I wanted to say, or some vocab words... it is so annoying, though my kids love to finish my sentences for me until someone gets what I was trying to say. It has become a game and then they love to say "hashtag- pregnant".…
• Well, after the two hour, my numbers came back as: Fasting 77 (supposed to be under 91) One hour 163 (supposed to be under 179) Two hour 158 (failed according to my office by 3 points) So now I am "officially" gestationally diabetic according to my offfice. According to other criteria (such as the American Diabetes…
• Good read. I just returned from my midwife's office and she really couldn't back up any of her answers to my questions without using scare tactics. This is my first baby so I really don't know what to expect at appointments... thus going through with the darn thing. I am just so annoyed. I did the two hour and my numbers…
• Just checking in! I started at 202, and I am 5'4"... Already in the "obese" category, so 11-20 pounds for me. Today at 29w4d I weighed in at 210.9. Total, I am up just about 9 pounds. My midwife says from here on out a one pound gain per week would be great. I haven't been logging food or exercise since the start, but I…
• Baby number one, my little girl =) Just something interesting (I know we are all happy with healthy babies regardless of sex!)- I teach a class with my high school kiddos called Medical Interventions and this is something we came across in our unit on genetic screening and engineering:…
• Okay.. that is scary. Very scary.
• Oh my gosh- that would have made me incredibly mad! Not that the GD diet is bad or anything, but seriously, I really do think that so many doctors have to deal with malpractice suits that we are all assumed to have something "just in case". What did people do before the glucose test, I ask??? Because none of my friends or…
• Congrats- I love your name, Opal! I am 28 weeks, feel free to add me =)
• I don't know how helpful this will be, but I use a much smaller/thinner second pillow right under my head when sleeping (I found having a second normal pillow was too large). I was okay until around week 18 and then the neck pain started. I bought this body pillow:…
• Thanks guys! I appreciate the help-- I am the first of my friends to have a little one so this is all new to me.
• My nurse-midwife also is totally against biking. Apparently she has had more than one patient who has fallen and ended up with complications... She is all for me riding a stationary bike at the gym, just not freely outside.
• Having a girl! The middle name was easy- both of our moms have the same middle name- Jean. As for firsts, we are between Amelia and Piper... so- Piper Jean or Amelia Jean I think I am partial to Amelia, though now it is in the top names... gah! I wanted something a little more unique. I also really like Sawyer, though…
• I hope your appointments go smoothly! I had my anatomy scan last Thursday at 18w3d, then didn't get to see a doc about results until Friday. Baby girl's(!!) head measured 1.5 weeks behind her body and the sonographer didn't say anything... and after I kept thinking about it that night I started getting super worried...…
• This is my 3rd pregnancy with two previous miscarriages. I was very apprehensive in telling anyone until I saw the heartbeat this time around. It was very emotionally draining to tell people I was pregnant only to miscarry and have them question me about it. I am currently 15 weeks and have only told my family (at 12…
• I don't have photobucket, but my profile pic is my little one at 12w1d! Currently I am 14 weeks.
