  • Logging everything in MFP, even on cheat days, and exercising more has helped me lose 20 lbs. this year. When I want to eat something too high in calories (usually a dessert), most times I can resist it because I know I'll have to log it.
  • I bought the Weight Watchers digital scale at Bed, Bath & Beyond for less than $30 and really like it. It also calcuates your body fat lbs., body fat %, bone %, water %, and BMI. I get on once a week or twice a month, depending on how well I am doing. I also measure once a month and that motivates me.
  • Almonds, string cheese, sliced turkey in the cooler. Good luck with your son's surgery.
  • Forgot to mention, for the veggie dip, blend the cottage cheese, nonfat sour cream, and dry Italian dressing seasoning packet together first before enjoying with fresh veggies.
  • I like to make a nonfat veggie dip with nonfat cottage cheese, nonfat sour cream (container of each) and 1 pkg. Good Seasons dry Italian dressing. It is delish and even better the second day. Also like cottage cheese with fresh pineapple and cinnamon.
  • I understand your frustration. You're in the right place and getting started is the hardest part. Feel free to add me as a friend. I have been using MFP religiously since January 2014 and it is really helping me stay on track. Support from friends really helps, too. I track everything honestly and if I go over my goal of…

  • I love sweets too so I don't buy them if possible. I read on one of the message boards to log in your indulgence before you eat it to help you see what damage it will do to your eating plan. I did that this week when craving Reese's peanut butter cups and it helped me stay away from them. Also I found ThinAddictives…
  • I have lost 34 lbs. and down from my biggest size (22). I gave all of my big clothes away to Good Will (tax deductible) except one pair of fat pants to see how far I've come. Now I am in 14's and I keep a few 16's just in case I gain a few lbs. Goal is size 8 to 10. Good luck!
  • I understand your frustration, I have been in a similar situation myself. I am in my 50's, 5'2" and want to lose 48 more lbs. What works for me is high protein, low carb and keeping my calories under 1200 per day. IMy basal metabolic rate is only 1437 so I will never be able to eat 1800 calories and not gain weight. Try…
  • I agree with you. Being nasty doesn't do anybody any good. We are all in this together.
  • Hi there, welcome back! You can do it! I too took two months off and maintained but it is so hard getting back on the wagon. Kimberly
  • I have a problem with carbohydrates and my Dr. said I should limit them to 50-75 grams per day to lose weight as they convert to cortisol, which is stored as fat. The more carbs I eat, the more I want, so I am modifying my diet to east less carbohydrates. It is amazing, one of my favorite foods, non-fat yogurt, is loaded…
