  • I would definitely youtube some workouts. there are SO many on there you will probably never get bored. https://www.youtube.com/user/MalloryHotMess She is my favorite youtube zumba poster because I feel like it's zumba i can do at home with a little practice! Good luck!
  • I USED to hate running. I hated the way it made me out of breath, the way I felt my body smashing into the ground with each step. I hated running so much that I did every other exercise you could think of- elliptical, STAIR MASTER, biking, swimming, walking. Then I went away to summer camp to be a counselor for the first…
  • I'm a college student as well (feel free to add me anyone!) I am always on the go- to the library, to class. My library has a microwave so this makes my life a little easier. First, get a crockpot- it basically cooks dinner FOR you while you are in class! I make soups (really simple recipes online too). I made a soup with…
  • if you recognize the ingredients on a package (if you're eating "clean" packaged foods) then you are probably good. another rule of thumb is if there are 5 or less ingredients on a package. NEVER use anything that has "diet" or "low fat", often times these items have chemicals added or extra salt or sugar to compensate for…
  • yeah it's 3:40 and I only have 278 calories left. I think my plan of action might be a salad or a smoothie, but I am also going to go to the gym!!
  • http://eatocracy.cnn.com/2013/06/12/whey-ing-greek-yogurts-environment-impact/ Maybe another reason to not eat any greek yogurts?
  • wow great recipes :) I like chicken Caesar salads too. unfortunately i can't eat strawberries or apples because i'm allergic to them (fruits that go great in a salad) but i love some of the other ideas i've heard!
  • For the cardio part i would say that if you are too tired from your intervals the day before, take it easy so your body has time to rest. if you don't rest you're only going to get more tired and possibly sick. wake up, evaluate what you feel like you could do for that day, and make a plan before you go to the gym so you…
  • i agree with that planning. i had a friend who would make healthy dinners at night, and then take the leftovers to school the next day for her lunch. dont forget to pack a snack for when you get out to keep up your metabolism and keep from picking up that candy bar at the checkout at the grocery store! even as a college…
  • i feel like heart attacks take a bit to come on- look at it this way, a healthy person doesn't just suddenly get a heart attack for no reason one day. the sick person already has a bad heart. it's probably not your fault that she died, it's just the circle of life.
  • when you smile, the round parts of your cheeks, below your eyes, and on either side of your nose are your "apples". you can "draw" on your eyebrows with a pencil that is close to (or slightly darker) than you natural hair color. they don't have to look like twins, just sisters :) i personally like purple on people with…
  • yeah, christy the guy in the book likes to point out often how nikes aren't that great except a few pairs they make? don't quote me on that. i have a pair of nikes right now, but after reading the bad things about them i sort of want to switch my shoes. i angie, i've never heard of skeletoes, have you had any issues with…
  • if you want some awesome tutorials, look up "michelle phan" on youtube. you're also likely to find more in the side bar by others! good luck :)
  • please please please read born to run! it is by christopher mcdougall and a wonderful book. here is his website (not saying to buy it from him) but so you can read what the book is about because i'm not the greatest at explaining it. http://www.chrismcdougall.com/ i'm just starting with running too, so runners on here…
  • i like to get the larger tub and add a packet of ranch dip mix to it, and use it for dipping vegetables :)
  • bren3345, just wondering: how much did you have to pay for your fancy kicks? i've been hearing different things about right/ wrong shoes and have just started to get into running so i don't wanna hurt my body if shoes can make a difference!
  • i have a tiny fridge, and we are not allowed to have crock pots :( i've been living off of canned soup.....
  • i was 160lbs at one point and then i lost about 40 of that, and entered college at 124. i gained the stupid freshman 15, so up to 140ish (i blame the dining hall and the boyfriend at the time). i did little hikes and swam all that next summer to get back to 135 or 130 and my weight is still around that... i also know that…
  • keep up with the water definitely, sometimes i find that carrots block me up (which is weird) so maybe cut back on them if you're eating tons of carrots. then eat some fiber (a leafy green salad, an apple, some oatmeal, prunes) and it should help. make sure to eat a bit of those each day to keep things regular!
  • i usually can't do rewards because it just feels weird. plus, i'm not really at a place where i can lose pounds easily (the last ten pounds type of thing to look fit), so i don't know if poundage lost would be a good way to figure out a reward. just reading over the posts made me realize that i could reward myself if i go…
  • I'm kind of in the same situation right now... I made poor choices as a teen, and my youngest sister just doesn't really exercise at all... it's frustrating to see someone you care about go through that. Sadly, I don't have the answer to how to tell them in a "nice" way. Maybe you could try to cook something healthy/yummy…
  • Feel free to add me :) I am trying to use MFP again because I got back to school and I'm on my computer a lot more so it's easier to log. Definitely will give feedback and we could all use the encouragement :)
  • sounds pretty cheap to make too :)
  • I understand. I realized that when I had a bigger, healthy breakfast than just a piece of fruit it made me less likely to crave lots of high calorie foods later in the day. As for the person who was fasting, calories in vs calories out is all that "matters" but if you jump your blood sugar levels too high too often when…
  • I'm glad that you got to "beat down" your "inner fat girl". I'll have to agree, it is pretty hard. I always find myself wanting to reward myself with food, then I have to remind myself that food is energy so that doesn't really make any sense. If I ever feel like I'm losing my control again, I just try to remind myself…
  • It is not every girl's dream to have that special day. Nothing is absolute.
