  • This is what I've got out of it. I've had a rough summer. I've made some not great food choices and I've struggled with my weight loss. But, I've kept working out 4-6 days a week. It's motivating to hear that I'm making a difference even if I'm not dropping the pounds on the scale. It's motivating to know that I'm…
  • I started the c25K program when I was about 285lbs (I'm 5'8.5). I've read so many posts on here where people say you shouldn't run when you're that heavy because your poor knees. Think of your knees! And I admit, I used to have pretty bad knee issues. They used to ache all the time. Now, they don't bother me. Losing…
  • I also love "Dog Days are Over" by Florence and the Machine. It's my start up song. Some of my other favorites are: "Who Says" by Selena Gomez "Oh, Bravo" by Children 18:3 and "5,6,7,8" by Steps
  • Thanks. :) My 6 year old photo bombed me, lol.
  • I totally agree with the others. Running is a great exercise, but it's not the ONLY nor is it necessarily the best. One thing that I found to help with the stitch in my side was to slow down. You'll be amazed at how much longer you can run if you take it a little slower. At least I was, lol.
  • I hear you on the guac. That stuff is so flippin addictive, I can't stand it. I think the other would be hummus. I can sit and gorge on hummus and carrots all day long. So not good.
  • Wait, you mean it's not??? Ok, my husband and I need to have a serious talk this evening!!! My biggest lie to myself is probably that I'm not worth it. Also, the "I don't eat THAT bad." Still working on that one.
  • This! I'm terrified of gaining it back. Also, I'm scared that I won't be able to lose what I need to lose. I'm worried that I haven't made enough of a change to make a difference. I haven't even really thought about how it will be when I get to my goal weight because right now I'm so fucused on just getting there.
  • My husband knows exactly what I weigh (I told him this morning, lol) and he couldn't give a fig. He told me I was beautiful 40lbs ago and he tells me how hot I am now. We're on this journey together and we're doing our best to support each other. Having said that, he probably wouldn't be my husband if he did care what I…
  • Being able to outlast my 6 year old on the track. Being a more 'active' mom. Having a cleaner house because I have more energy to clean it now. The role model I'm becoming for my girls.
  • Honestly, I followed the couch to 5K program. And, just make sure you get outside to run too. Treadmills are great, but there's a huge difference between running on one and running on the road. I have the RunDouble App on my phone and it was so worth the $2 I paid for it. Now my goal is to beat my time and probably next…
  • Considering I was born on June 13th (not July, no Friday the 13th birthday this year :(), I've always LOVED the date. It's been pretty lucky for me. My big superstition is No SHOES on the table, especially new shoes.
  • I'm 33 with 2 girls, 8 and 6. It is a struggle, but my family is also my motivation. I want to teach them both good eating habits, so whatever I make, they eat. We're fortunate that they're fairly adventurous in what they'll try and don't look at me too weirdly when I pull out the all vegetarian meals. The workouts are…
  • It's working pretty well for me. I have mine set at TDEE-20%, so I eat 2353 calories every day and I've upped my protein. I struggle to meet my protein goal, but I find the more protein I eat, the more full I feel and the better I lose weight. Now, I'm not advocating low carb because I loves my carbs, lol. Also, I just…
  • OMG, that was the best thing I've ever read! I bawled through most of it because I am that fat girl running on the track or on the treadmill. Very touching. Thank you for posting.
  • WE love them in spaghetti sauce too. As well as grilled, sauted and baked. There's a pinterest pin for making zucchinni chips, also. Seems pretty easy, just slice them thin and bake at 200*.
  • It's on my husband's phone, but I have a picture of me AND my 6 year old in a pair of my shorts, lol. I'll have to get it from him to post it.
  • So why not eat the things that you want? Now, I'm not saying go out and gorge on a hundred twinkies, but honestly I doubt that one is going to ruin your whole lifestyle change. Or, why not make things yourself? Pizza can easily be made at home and can be a pretty healthy meal. Just use whole wheat dough, lower fat cheese…
  • I LOVE homemade pizza! Trader Joe's has an awesome whole wheat pizza crust that makes it so easy to make your own. Although, I'm a moderation girl, so sometimes we do go for the greasy delivery too. No food is off limits, there's just some that we eat less of, and more that we eat a LOT less of now.
  • Thanks for the replies and the laughs. You guys are hilarious!
  • That's an awesome story. :) It's great when we hit those milestones. Congrats!
  • Also should add that I just went in and set my calories at tdee-20% to see if that method works for me.
  • You don't need weights or a gym to do strength training. Push ups, squats, crunches, lunges and tricep dips (I'm sure there are others, and I just am not thinking of them) can all be done at home using only your body weight. And then once summer is over and the kids are back in school, you can try out more at the Y. I'm a…
  • The only advice I can give is to find a good sports bra. I'm having the same issue in that mine are not shrinking fast enough. I've lost ~40lbs and have gone from a 46DDD to a 40H. I'm a bit envious of the women who have gone to Cs and am considering reduction surgery once I hit my goal weight. I'm hoping they shrink on…
  • But, I like ice in my water! What do I do if I want ice???
  • Yeah that to what everyone else says. Strength train, tone, lift weights (whatever you want to call it) TODAY!
  • I don't think it's a high estimate at all. According to my heart rate monitor, I can easily burn 1000+ calories during a class. I think as we get smaller and our hearts and bodies get stronger, the burns aren't as good. But yeah, I can fully see her burning 1000 calories in an hour class. As for me, I'm 5'9 and currently…
