  • Well said! I am 66. i am in a much better shape than my cousins and friends who are my age or younger than me. I attribute that to my exercise routine (mix of cardio and strength). Thank you.
  • Not sure why you think Exercise is not good because you have been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis. I will be 66 this December. I have Osteoarthritis in both my knees plus meniscus tear on the right knee since last 3 years. Walking is more painful for me so avoid long walks but do all sorts of other exercises like swimming,…
  • I brush my teeth and use mouth wash as soon as my dinner is over which is a signal to my mind that no more eating allowed. Also it helps that my bedroom is upstairs and I don't go down to kitchen to avoid temptation even if I feel hungry until next morning.

  • Great achievement. Kudos to you for taking control of your life. Keep it up. Love to see your progress pictures every few months. Love that smile. Congratulations.
  • You look incredible. I m glad you posted your success. People like me have to see such posts everyday to keep ourselves motivated. I am into 4th month of my weight loss journey and excited to see what my 11th month journey will bring me. I will be beyond thrilled if I could look like you in that white dress.…
  • Great job! I am also under 200 lbs this week. I know how good you feel. Let us keep it up.
  • I roast peanuts in the oven and keep it handy. Roasted unsalted peanuts are yummy and provides protein. Like to cut down on salt as I have hypertension. So this works for me good. When I really crave for salty/spicy, I eat cottage cheese mixed with salsa or cabbage/cucumber pickle or homemade croutons.
  • Happens. But every day is a new day to start fresh. Can't change what happened yesterday but certainly you can do better today. Be good.
  • Some time I substitute coconut water for plain water. Gives me some energy and tastes good too.
  • Took control of your life. Awesome job. Kudos. Very inspired with your story, Thanks.
  • Awesome job. I started on Feb 22nd. Hopefully, I would have made same kind of progress by May. Thanks for the inspiration.
  • Huge accomplishment. Congratulations. Not an easy task to take the step you took. You are an achiever. Good luck with everything in your life.
  • Nice job. Keep it up.
  • My two cents: Once I decided to consider sugar as poison, I have no more cravings for sweets. Try substituting fruits for other sweets if you must have. Don't buy sweets. Once it is not in your reach your craving will go away.
  • quinoa and Finger millet (Ragi) keeps me full.
  • I was stuck in plateau for 3 weeks in a row. The scale did not budge at all and it was very frustrating when I knew I was doing everything right. Changed my exercise routine to accommodate more time for strength training and added little more carbs to my diet. Wight started dropping.
  • I hate when people say 'If I can do it, anyone can do it'.
  • Planter fasciitis related exercises helped me a lot. When my dad had it (91 year old), he bought new pair of shoes with lot of cushion support and it went away with in a few weeks. Diligent stretches and exercises, shoes with good cushion will all help. Hope you feel better soon.
  • Awesome. You look great.
  • My husband use to get severe leg cramps so severe that he wanted to cry every time. Doctor advised him to drink Tonic water which usually has quinine that helps the cramps. Check with doctor and increase your Potassium intake. Over exercising could also cause the cramps and you may want to add recovery time. Good luck.
  • I am not a fan of Tofu either and I do avoid Soy products as it may inhibit the Thyroid medicine absorption I am taking. We eat lot of beans especially kidney beans, Lentils and home made protein powder. It is not the cheese or the bread that makes us gain weight but lack of portion control. I still eat cheese, bread, rice…
  • I have hypothyroidism. Except Soy products, I don't exclude anything. I have heard soy products in the body interferes with the absorption of Levothyroxine (synthetic thyroid hormone) and medicine may not be effective (still a controversy)....so I avoid them.
  • Amazing. You look like a model.
  • Congratulations. I don't know how you did it but kudos to an amazing job. You look so beautiful. Don't give up or slide back for any reason. You have earned it to keep it. Ignore the negative comments from family and friends. You are not alone and there is quite a good percentage of people who suffer from low self worth…
  • I had hysterectomy 9 years back. I was post menopausal. I did not gain weight because of it. I lost some with diet and exercise. It is hard to loose and I easily put on weight but that has more to do with my age and thyroid issue. I am not on any hormonal therapy.
  • Well...my dad is 90 year old and he is slimmer than when he was in 50s. Never misses his 4.2 mile walk everyday including the weekends except when he is sick or raining. He tries to maintain his weight below 127 lbs (5'3"). For some reason if he puts on 2 lbs, he cuts down his calorie intake until he hits his goal. Good…
  • Yesterday Orthopedic surgeon told me that I have to get knee replacement for both my knees. Want to loose weight before the surgery. Loosing weight puts less strain on my damaged knees until I get the surgery done. )
  • You look great. Kudos to your determination. What was different this time that kept you so motivated and stay determined? Keep it up.
