Yes like mentioned above I have a recumbent bike and it works great. Especially on days when my knees flare up, I can still get something in. Swimming is great and so is low impact walking, elliptical and stationary bikes. My doctor has specifically told me to avoid running, squats, lunges, kettlebells (which has a lot of…

It's better to just gather up like minded friends here and support that way. This website has the absolute worst message boards. Good luck.

I've spoken to many Registered Dieticians and Nutritionists as well as taking many courses for both Nutrition and Health - EVERYONE says the same thing. Breakfast IS the most important meal of the day, as well as starting the day with 16-20 oz of water. It gets your metabolism started. Not eating breakfast will slow down…

I just read through all of the posts... wow some are so down to the penny. I don't have enough time to pull out my algebra scales just to eat at every meal. I do not eat sugary foods, ever. But that's just me because I cannot control the cravings that come with them. Simple enough, but I do eat carbohydrates. Most are…

Agreed. 100-150 total g per day is a good low carb diet. Make the foods high in fiber / vegetables of all colors / and your sugar fruit. It's healthy and good for you. If you work out a lot you may even want to bump this up higher. I do not personally like the low carb diet. I've been on it and I always felt like my…

Well you really can't lose weight where you want but you can do some exercises which will build the muscle underneath those areas that will give the illusion of being larger. Squats and lunges are great for the behind and doing some breast muscle weights will work for the breast muscle. Good luck!

Best idea mentioned! I think anyone who became morbidly obese (myself included) had a very unhealthy relationship with food. It is our addiction and we have "triggers" just like a real addict has them. For you, it's when you are feeling perhaps lonely, losing control of a situation or just sad. Learn your triggers and…

This! In my opinion if you can log it, and if it gets you to put a little more "oomph" in your dusting or whatever, then by all means count it. On the same coin though, don't let it be an excuse not to do your normal workout routine. Have fun! Life doesn't always have to be so set in rules that you miss an opportunity to…

That's what it's all about. :)

Why would you do this to yourself?!? I'm turning 40 in December and this WILL be the BEST birthday I've ever had (less my #15... that truly has been and still is my best year yet). Think of all of the awesomeness about you, and how great it is to be mature and got it going on at 40. I personally can't wait, and I'm going…

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss! You are such a strong woman, and God has blessed you with another son even though you were told you'd never have another child. *hugs*!!!!
