  • I used to drink it pretty much every evening on my way from work to school...for the caffeine. I replaced it with home-brewed iced tea or iced coffee. I figured it woud be better to get some antioxidants with coffee/tea instead of a bunch manufactured chemicals. I don't miss it at all and it actually doesn't taste as good…
  • Here's an awesome wallet card that covers mercury levels in tuna, as well as other fish :) http://www.nrdc.org/health/effects/mercury/walletcard.PDF
  • To gain back 58 pounds, it would require 203,000 kcal over your total daily energy expenditure. Please don't worry and enjoy your vacation and your birthday. Eat in moderation and stay active and you'll be fine!

  • There are lots of websites that will give you good ideas: www.kalynskitchen.com www.thegraciouspantry.com www.cleaneating.com Start cooking and have fun :)
  • My favorite way to chia is to make it into a chocolate tapioca-like pudding: http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/2012/01/chocolate-chia-pudding-and-other-sugar-free-flour-free-desserts.html Use a high quality cocoa powder and it makes a delicious and nutricious treat :) I tried adding them to my oatmeal, but they are so filling,…

  • I eat 5-6 meals per day and have the hardest time with having protein on hand for a quick meal. I cook and freeze big batches of turkey pesto meatballs or turkey burgers. It makes getting protein quick and easy when I'm in a rush.
  • I use a product called Tecnu to help dry it up and remove any excess oil. I get it at my local pharmacy (CVS, Walgreens, etc.). If his case is severe, or anywhere near any orifice (mouth, eyes, etc.), the doc would likely give him steroids. The reaction will heal quickly, but steroids can have some nasty effects on the…
  • Let's see.... 1) I have a collection of bizarre, *****y, and/or extremely sarcastic greeting cards. 2) Every year I have a holiday party where I host a contest to see who can decorate the dirtiest (or most twisted) X-mas cookie. 3) I recently hosted a baby shower for my friend. It was at a chocolate shop and we all made…
  • Finally back to the grind...D4 done
  • Have you considered joining a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm? For $17 per week I'm able to get the MOST AMAZING organic produce from a local specialty farm. If I bought these veggies/herbs in the store, I'd be spending $40-$50 minimum per week. You can find CSAs near you at the following site:…
  • I used a variety ranging from 5-15 pounds. I'm no stranger to dumbells, though, and do all of the advanced moves. On some of the moves, 5 pounds is pretty heavy (side lunges in L1 and the V-raises in L2). I did fewer reps than Jillian and was able to make it all the way through by the end of the level. If this is your…

  • Ohjoy - Which moves are you struggling with? Or is it the cardio? There are lots of plank moves and pushups in L3.

  • Finished L2 last night. Was able to finally get through all the anterior raises with my 5 pound weights. Yessss! I did L3 today...it's a killer!

  • Day 1 complete. I forgot how tough it was! My HRM battery died, so I don't know how much the burn was but I sweat WAY more than L2. Those rockstar jumps and the jumping lunges are killer.
  • I have a mint plant that I use for 1) homemade mojitos :drinker: and 2) fresh-brewed iced tea with mint. So refreshing!
  • Womblewoo - I vote that you wait until you're done the program to weigh and measure. I'm on the last day of L2 and haven't seen any changes (except an increase in strength), but I have less than 10 pounds to lose. If you do measure throughout the program, promise yourself you'll stick it out even if there are no…

  • I'm exactly the same way. Refrigerator oatmeal!!! It is the bomb...so easy and good for you! http://www.theyummylife.com/blog/2012/03/293/Overnight%2C+No-Cook+Refrigerator+Oatmeal+--+A+healthy+breakfast+made+in+mason+jars+in+six+different+flavors%21
  • Born and raised in Annapolis. I moved to Florida, but I really miss MD sometimes!
  • D5 of L2 done...half way there :) Anybody else HATE the anterior raises? I'm using 5 pound weights and can only get them to shoulder level and they BURN! I'm way stronger, though, and I'm able to do three pushups with every plank walk out .

  • Just finished D1 of L2. Not too bad, but I'm surprised my calorie burn was the same as for Level 1. I feel sweatier. Hmm.

  • I can't answer your question, but I can tell you that of all of the places I've been to around the world, Bali has been myfavorite! Go to Ubud. Also, hike up the volcano to watch the sun rise at the top (also doubles as a workout). Sigh....
  • Awwww Yeaaaahhh!!! Just FINISHED Day 10 of Level 1. The good news: - I increased from ~20 total unmodified push-ups on Day 1 to 39 on Day 10 (today). That's almost double in 10 days!!! - I finally made it all the way through those nasty anterior arm raises with my 5 pound weights. Yes! -I can pretty much breeze through the…
  • Steven - the one with the ripped abs!

  • Completed Day 5 of Level 1 last night. I’m accustomed to pretty intense workouts (heavy lifting, Insanity, etc.) but with full-time work AND trying to write my thesis, I needed to cut back to a 20-30 minute workout. I did 30DS a few years ago and remember being pleased with the results, although I didn’t take photos or…
  • Hi, everyone! Today is Day 4 of L1 for me, but I'm taking a rest day each week, so I should be pretty much on schedule with the rest of you

  • @katy - I love the one where you're holding up your dog so he/she can be in the photo too.

  • I vote for the Flanni's in Doral. The one in Kendall gets insanely busy. I"m flexible on the time. Oh...and my real-life name is Beth
