  • So tired. I worked 3p-3a last night at the hospital. Just a normal shift today...but I am beat. Not as easy as it once was. So ready to snuggle up with the hubby & pup but I want to post real quick. Luna - lol to craigslist. Been there! Svgarcia - wow - good for you and your hubby- 19 years! Taldie01 - sorry baby wasn't…
  • CutMD and MrsJax - So glad to hear you ladies are battling the cravings as well! With morning sickness, I feel like carbs and fat really help keep it at bay and it's all I want too! I've been able to throw in some veggies occasionally and fruit is still good (especially fresh pineapple for some reason), but I would happily…

  • Bmfrazie - so glad baby is OK. So scary!! Rest up! Rayna - 3Ds are so cool - a great Christmas present! US went well! Heartbeat at 160 and estimating by baby's length I'm right on schedule (8.5 weeks) July 7th due date. :-)
  • MrsJax - Honestly I have had days where I literally slept for 10 hours, ate breakfast and 30 minutes later went back to bed for a nap. Growing a human is hard work! Try going for a walk after a meal. I seem to perk up after ingesting some carbs lol. Are you experiencing any morning sickness? Rayna - YAY for no diabetes! My…
  • shelgib- i know what you mean...my husband and I are hoping for a boy. He has 1 older brother and I have 3 younger brothers so especially for me, I just feel like I understand little boys better than little girls. BUT, that being said A GIRL! You had a feeling it was a girl right? I'm sure she feels like all new territory…
  • Heather - congrats on your little one! You are a superwoman! She is just in time for thanksgiving! Shelley - I bet you are excited to find out. Are you hoping for a girl this time? Gonna try to get in exercise at least 5x this week. I walk my dog everyday but she stops to sniff so often it's hardly a workout lol. So that's…
  • Amanda -wishing nothing but good news for you and baby at your appointment. Rayna - how exciting to start on the baby's nursery. Brenda - hope you get some good sleep tonight! AFM - *BARF* pretty much sums it up. Oh and I got up and then about an hour later went back to bed for a nap. I've been packing slowly…
  • Hello all! It's late into November but I'd like to join your group. I am 7wks pregnant with my first child and I'm already gaining weight - The scale # changes a lot but at least 2lbs. And my gut is all bloated. Not my best look! I've been exercising pretty regularly but I need to get back into MFP & log! Morning sickness…
  • JAN GOALS: cardio 5X/week, lifting 3X/week, try out CrossFit, lose 2lbs, H20 guzzle, take measurements. -Tried and love crossfit which knocked out my lifting goal too! Cardio, I do about 2 days and feel like I should up that a bit but 5 is probably overdoing it. I lost weight but have focused less and less on the scale and…
  • Emmy! Hey girl, and welcome back! +4lbs is nothing, especially when you're not logging! I think I would do way more damage than that! Gonks - Congratulations!!!! You are doing so well and I'm speechless! I feel like I would NEVER be able to do that. Multiple miles at under 11min a piece seems fantastic to me, but if you…
  • Meag - I'm going to have to do some research, but I thinking you're right. I'm thinking a definite calorie increase is in order, and I am going to have to focus on those veggies, fruit, protein and fat. I really need to make my calories count, because I don't want to kick my @ss at the gym and then work against myself in…
  • Hold up: Meag help me figure this out. We weigh practically the same right? So why am I only allotted 1260cals per day? Or on you on maintenance? I think I'm set for 1lb/week loss at lightly active. Thinking of jumping it up to very active when I really start to go heavy on CrossFit. I feel like I need more cals when I…
  • Awwww, I love all the love stories! I love how random life is! Guam - You saying you feel like the boy is the one you've waited for made me so happy! I love being in a relationship that is no drama and feeling understood and loved! I wish you two all the best! And I agree on your online comment...it seems like the best way…
  • QOTD - I met my husband, Steve, when I was a freshman in college. I actually was good friends with his roomie due to the fact that we had several of the same classes and several mutual friends. He urged Steve to ask me out but it took him about a semester to get the nerve up. Got engaged 2 years later and married 2 years…
  • Hey all I'm back! I didn't log much this past weekend, and I KNOW I ate way too much of fatty delicious homemade food. Back to the grind. I joined a CrossFit gym (I was playing around with the idea for awhile and my brother raved about it all weekend so I decided to go for it) and I think I'm really going to like it. Also…
  • Thanks! I started out at 140lbs, but lost several for my wedding without MFP (if only I had found it beforehand: Finn you are so lucky!). I was 131 for my wedding. Then I gained "happy weight" and hit 135. Yesterday's number was a lean 127.8. I doesn't sounds like a lot, but on my just shy of 5' 2" frame, it makes a big…

  • Spellbinder - Sign me up for a bikini too! I wore one last summer but felt very insecure. Not doing that this year! We are gonna be a couple of hotties lol. TJ - Thanks I agree! If the BMI is healthy, fair game! Hey, don't worry about losing only 1lb, I'm sure you'll get to your goal! Silver - Welcome! How did you learn…
  • Megan - lifting weights and running is probably the most surefire way to get some big losses! I wish I had started lifting earlier in my whole journey, because I think it really pushes your body to focus on making lean muscle and burns serious cals doing so. I've heard good things about the C25K - glad that is working for…
  • Thank you all for your congrats: feels good to have the scale moving in the right direction for once. Guam - Way to stomp the emotional eating today! That is not a small feat. I have to say, that is one of my major weaknesses too. Melissa & Meag - great run ladies, you are both excellent athletes! Melissa - Did you…
  • AlyKat - I'm gonna give you my secret weapon: the most awesome upbeat pump-it-up playlist I have: Adagio for Strings by Tiesto Higher by Rokstarr Escape 2 (Radio Edit) by Kay Cee Rock that Body by The E.N.D Only Girl (In the World) by Rihanna Poker Face (Space Cowboy Remix) by Lady GaGa The Rocky Song Remixed by Ronald…
  • seripha - lol to the RED sugar number glaring at you! I feel the same way, and also turned that sucker off. ngoat - way to workout after a double shift! wow! you are committed! Skip -great losses already! I'm so excited for you! AFM - I now am weighing in at 128.2! My lowest ever as an adult. I'm feeling pretty good about…
  • In that case, I would go with MFP. Even if it's not quite right, it's probably much more accurate! Good luck! PS. I reread your post and I see that you said it didn't ask for your weight lol. Sorry!
  • My elliptical asks for my age and weight. Does yours? I find that MFP and the elliptical compare within +/- 30 cals. I take my elliptical. 600 for 35 minutes is insane. Unless you were practically sprinting the whole time. I usually burn 100cal for every 10 minutes and I elliptical 5X/week, so I'm pretty conditioned for…
  • I have this same problem. My husband is also on MFP but he has quite a few more calories than I do, especially when he goes to the gym. It's hard to watch him eat buffalo wings and not partake also!!! Don't worry skip, you'll get that "skinny" feeling soon, you work hard!
  • QOTD Chocolate Soy Milk Fruit Cheese and Crackers Dry cereal
  • Finn - I checked out that book and it looks great! I just read the previews on amazon and I have learned a lot already! Hitting the gym to lift like a DUDE! lol ;-) Meag - Feel better! Sounds awful. Making your coconut/cocoa oatmeal for breakfast today! TJ - Good luck at the holiday potluck and great job starting off…
  • Oh yes, thanks Finn! I appreciate your thoughts. I didn't realize I had yet another pro to turn to! ;-) How many reps are you doing during your sets? I'm trying to find that balance between light enough that I can do 3 longer sets, but still get the burn. I don't want to go too heavy and get bulky...
