  • I was born in nola and I still live here and I completely agree with all of the above advice! Definitely don't miss the parades- you will get to see a true slice of New Orleans culture. Don't forget to find some King Cake- Haydel's, Randazzo's, and Gambino's make the best!
  • I had three c-sections in a little under three years! My youngest is 16 months and while I've got my abs back in pretty good shape, the skin on my stomach is grotesque! I've lost thirty lbs in the last 5 months and the skin looks even worse now. My stomach looks fine in clothes but I can't imagine wearing a bathing suit in…
  • I agree that you should talk to a doctor about the medications. A great place to start with weight loss would be to start doing some type of exercise that you enjoy- anything: walking, swimming, yoga, dancing, it doesn't have to be high intensity. Getting yourself moving helps release endorphins and could be the motivation…
  • I don't know anything about the surrogate rumors but I have to agree- pregnant bellies morph into truly bizarre shapes! There is a live, kicking baby in there after all!
  • who knows!? I asked myself this question over and over again after I had my first baby at 22. It felt nearly impossible to lose any weight at all after I had her and then I got pregnant with my second baby when the first was only 6 months old, then with my third when the second one was 10 months old. I didn't gain very…
  • Please don't stress too much about the past- you may end up guilt-eating!! Everyone has crazy calorie days that they wish hadn't happened, but you just have to keep moving forward! t would just make today as healthy as possible- plenty of vegetables, lean protein, and water. Try to get some exercise in today too!
  • wow!! great job! there is a great difference in the two pictures! keep up the excellent work!
  • I guess they may add pork fat or something to the beans, but if the beans are vegetarian they are probably a good healthy side. I don't eat meat so I eat a lot of beans- they have carbs but are also an excellent source of fiber and protein and very low in fat.
  • Great work! You look so happy and healthy! Keep up the amazing work! What a huge inspiration!
  • I agree, I cook homemade meals 90% of the time so it is a bit of a pain to always have to input the recipe, but it really is worth it because you know the exact calorie/fat/carb/protein breakdown.
  • yes, you want to consume those extra calories so that you have a net of zero at the end of the day. Technically you don't want your number to be red (over your net calories) or green (under your net calories) but of course some days you'll be hungrier and some days you won't feel like eating all of your exercise calories…
  • Wow! your aunt sounds amazing! What a great opportunity for you to spend time with her. If you don't feel like logging, don't log for awhile and see what happens. I think there is definitely something to be said for getting back to the root of eating- which of course is fuel. Learning which foods give you energy and…
  • ahh me too! having them right now! I cannot stop eating- even healthy stuff...just no moderation!
  • Wow you look like you lost 50+ lbs! Big difference! Keep up the good work!
  • My kids and I love roasted cauliflower- it is so much tastier than steamed(which I alo like). Spritz the florets with olive oil and sprinkle withe sea salt and pepper and any spices you like (we love smoked paprika) and bake at 425 for about 40 min or until browned. My kids act like it's chocolate or something!! I also do…
  • i agree! Don't weigh yourself daily, it will make you feel defeated. I weigh myself every Saturday morning between 6:30-7:00am before I eat or drink anything and that's it! Keep up the great work!
  • I thought of oral thrush too! yuck! I had oral thrush with my second pregnancy and it was miserable- my doctor told me that it's a sign of a compromised immune system...so yeah, I'm not so sure that this cleanse sounds like the healthiest path
  • I weigh in every Saturday morning- anything more would make me extremely anxious! I've thought about moving to every two weeks and I might end up doing that
  • I cook all of our meals and I always have so my kids don't really know to beg for processed stuff. They have sweets on occasion but almost all the sweets are home baked treats. My four year old's favorite food is marinated roasted tofu, my 2.5 year old will pick a clementine over any other snack available and my 14 month…
  • You look great!! Your face looks so different! Keep up the amazing work!
  • Wow you look fantastic!! Great job!
  • this recipe makes a TON of oatmeal but you can make it on Monday, refrigerate and reheat squares throughout the week. It also seems to appeal to people who are not fond of the "mushy" oatmeal texture because the steel cut oats are more nubby and baking it makes it dryer : ingredients for baked oatmeal 1 pound steel cut…
  • If you have a smart phone you could get the workouts app by skimble. It's free and has tons of circuit training workouts with instructions on each exercise and built in timers. It would be great to use in the backyard!
  • Good for you!! Your hard work is paying off!
  • I agree! I do not buy candy/ junk food for my kids, they eat the hippie vegetarian food cook at home- but if I were to make a huge deal out of someone serving kool-aid at a birthday party they attend I know this will become a much larger issue than it has to be! With parenting everything goes with a grain of salt...
  • I feel the same way! Even if it's my mom complimenting me! I feel incredibly awkward and just try to say thank you
  • I'm a sahm to three- 4 year old girl, 2 1/2 yr old girl, and a 12 month old boy. Please add me!
  • I agree with the previous comment. Whenever I feel really hungry I drink two large glasses of cold water and eat something like 2 tablespoons of raw almonds or if I'm craving something sweet I'll have 1/4 cup of dried fruit like cherries, dates, prunes, etc. The fiber in the fruit keeps me fuller longer.
