I'm easily bored with workout tapes and doing light weight and/or calisthenics and being in a gym feeds my competitive drive. I also like getting out of the house! Besides, I don't have room in my house for a squat rack and all the weights I'd want for my typical 4-5 day/week workout. ;)

Hahah- I didn't know this was a dating site. :-o

My first name is common in Greece...but most folks in the US have never heard it before. . my maiden name, one of a kind. My married name is not really that common, either.

Cardio CAN have a negative impact on muscle mass. Any bodybuilder will tell you to be careful with cardio. Moderate is good... intense will begin to break down muscle tissue for energy. Look at a "runner's" physique. Lean, yes...but not necessarily the type of lean everyone wants. So it depends on your goals.

Faye- Pit bull; I think she may be mixed with AmBully. Ganymede- hound mix Both rescues...spoiled and obedient. <3 They're an amazing duo.

We also have two big dogs (45lbs and 65lbs). Runs and bike rides (we have a nifty bike attachment for them) are the most effective because they're high energy. With those two options we only really need to be out for 30-45 min and they're satisfied. When we do walks, we shoot for at least 1 hr a day or twice a day for 30…

^ This. Maybe all he needs is something to help boost his confidence. Either that or some girl will pursue him- it happens. :)

Nice doesn't have to mean "doormat." Nice, in my opinion, equates to a man that is respectful. Too many men treat women like a play-thing (not that women aren't guilty of this) and these mind games...no thanks! Mind games are not sexy. Sincerity is sexy. Confidence is sexy. Respect is SEXY. I never had the patience for…

I second that.

Well said- very valid point. We're talking about an addiction here, so folks who smoke are likely to become defensive. I'm going to be honest here... There have been many studies regarding the ingridients in cigarrettes/cigars and their effect on the human body. Blowing those chemicals into the air around someone else is…

What have you tried so far?

Don't worry, it's not a race. :)

We're high school sweethearts but what always makes me think of him is any Zero 7 song. <3 Reminds me of going out into the world together as adults; our first struggles and achievements. :)

I think it's funny that there are so many pet peeves...and even more entertaining that I do some of those things. ;) Guilty: The gym is not a library. I make a little noise...especially when I'm leg pressing more than 3x my bodyweight for 20+ reps. If you don't like it, go to the "gym" w/ the "lunk" alarm thing. Also, if…

Get your form down, work you way up in weight and then go beastmode when you're comfortable. Took me a little while to gather the nerve to move more than my body weight for SLDLs---that said, legs is absolutely my favorite day in the gym :D It's amazing what your body can do when you don't let your mind talk you out of it!

Abs are made in the kitchen. Eat whole foods as much as possible, do your best to eliminate the processed junk. Even with the very limited food selection at a deployed location I manage to eat clean--so you can, too! Muscle eats fat, so it'd help to build a strong core. I also use the food tab on this site to help me keep…

Certainly, a community exists that see bodybuilding as a sport. In my experience, when done correctly (clean eating, proper form, frequency, intensity) bodybuilding is far more difficult and demanding than a sport...so if folks want to call it a sport, I don't really see a problem with it. However, it's truly more…

www.bodybuilding.com has a ton of exercise programs that will challenge you.

This reminded me... popping/cracking my back = amazing.

^ What they said. :D Relief! And the feeling I get right before passing out from complete exhaustion at about 9pm every night.

Stick with it and make sure you practice good form for everything. Tony Horton (P90X) has these 10 minute trainer videos for abs and they're pretty good. Insanity also has some killer ab moves and I am never bored with either. Both can be modified for begginer, intermediate and advanced fitness levels. Also, bodybuilding.…

Puppy class is probably your best bet, unless you know you'll be disciplined and committed to taking your pup to meet new people, going new places, training and socialization- and being consistent! It all depends on your lifestyle. We're active duty military and go to college, so we literally have every hour of the day…

Agreed. My 1.5 mile run time also improved quite a bit after just a couple weeks of insanity. Consistency is key, though. I am confident if you stick to this (and do correct form) you will be ready for Navy bootcamp, no problem! I wish I had insanity before I joined the USAF. It seemed like we were always running. Bottom…

I do not agree with the last statement in the quote above. Communication in the workplace should be professional. If this were to happen to me as an enlisted service member, it would be a clear cut case of sexual harrassment. The comments are bad, but touching someone in that manner is unprofessional and inappropriate…

These folks are giving good advice. :-) I work at a desk as well (8-10hrs) and although I work out in the morning and evening, i make it a point to move my joints while I'm at work. Have you considered bringing an exercise ball and sitting on that instead of a regular office chair?

I'm 5'1", sitting at 99lbs right now. My goal is 105-- eventually ~110-115. But we'll see how things go once I hit 105. =o)
